Thank you so much! I've looked for strength building excercises for 52 years as an AK amputee and finally found your instructional videos. They're priceless.
Thank you so so so much for your videos. I'm a french physiotherapist who's being working with amputees for several months and your instructions are so helpfull for my practice!!! Clear and reliable, I'm completely fan of this chanel. Again, thank you really really much!
Hi, I hope you are having a great day! I am Woody, an Industrial Design student from Pratt Institution. I am currently working on an electric prosthesis for transfemoral amputees to do certain sports. It would be really helpful if I could talk to you and ask some questions. My email is in bio.
David: I have been watching your videos for months and they are terrific. I had a RAK amputation last October and have used your videos for inspiration and and to supplement my traditional training. My limb loss was due to cancer, and my training has been delayed because I needed stem cell replacement. That was completed successfully so now I’m back to training to start walking again. I am so pumped! Thank you!
We're glad it was helpful! This is just one part of a bigger series that we are currently working on. Here is a link to the video series: ruclips.net/p/PLSF3akWhiajETHoRj1O7k6nHg8M7VanjQ
Thank you for these exercises. For 3 years I was trying to find something to help me and now I found these videos. I will be receiving my AK on the 17th of this month and hope that I will be strong enough to start walking. Thank you so much for these ...

This is so helpful! My father just got a leg amputated and as a pilates instructor I want to help him as much as I can but while it’s Covid I can’t get continuing education in this particular area yet. Your video is so helpful! Thank you!
Omg THANK U for this video!!! I was born w my disability & am a double above knee amputee. My whole life I’ve never found strength & stretch exercises for my legs. Doctors have not been helpful which left me unmotivated to keep up w stretch out my hip flexors. I’m definitely gonna use this video and do these exercises. This is what I’ve been looking for. ❤
I'm a student of PTA and I think you are the best with gait training and I love Mission Gait. Question: If I want to use your videos or pictures for educational purposes in a facility, how do I give to you the credits? Thank You!!!
Thanks for those kind words! If you are playing a video, we ask that we are mentioned in any resources list or citations, our logo is displayed, and that the video remains played through RUclips and not downloaded from RUclips. A still shot would need a Mission Gait logo on it (most have them already) and a listing in the resources or citations. Thank you for checking on this prior to using our resources and again thank you for the compliment!
Honestly, the feedback and the comments are so greatly appreciated. If you know of anybody who might benefit from our materials, be sure to pass them along and share them for others to see as well. Our content is made possible by donors to Mission Gait, so if you are inclined to do so, you can donate at www.missiongait.org/donate That being said, we definitely don't have any expectation of that. We want our information to get out to the people that need it. Thanks again for the compliment and glad to be of help!

Hello, I am a registered Physiotherapist getting to know my role in the amputee department. I find your videos very interesting and easy to follow. I would like to know if you have bibliography for the content you have in your video. I am interested in studying the importance of an exercise program to help patients improve their gait. Thank you so much.
I can see the school but about what size of stool is it. I was thinking of getting a kids stool but it doesn't seem like it would be high enough. Do you know the dimensions Apple Store?
Hi . I am from.Niheria I lost my right leg due to diabetes the amputation was above the knee Where can I get a good prosthetic leg. The one a doctor did for me is too heavy and it does not have a good balance
Hi, thanks for contacting us. If you are seeking clinical guidance or specific information please email admin@missiongait.org. Please note that we do not treat patients and/or sell any products.
Omggg this is by far thee best DR/therapist/EDUCATOR I HAVE EVER WATCHED. I am a new AK amputee and watching his videos has taught me as well as my trained and schooled PT how to better get me ready for my new and improved bionic leg 🦿(as I like to call it) so I can be a bionic woman. I am so excited and this educator 👆🏽 is GOD GIVEN and GIFTED to me and all amputees. Thank you for your invaluable lessons, knowledge and expertise 😘
How far down should the towel roll go? I'm a LAKA testing out my check socket. My Prosthetist says I have a hip contracture but laying on my belly on the floor isn't a problem. I can even lift my residual limb back from my belly position. When I use pillows (towel won't stay rolled) I use three of them and can lay like that so I'm a little confused. Starting to think it's the prosthesis or liner making it difficult.
Should bridges start out with a bent knee on good leg or straight leg? I have a 10% hip contracture I'm working on and one of my exercises for my glute strengthening is to do bridges with good leg laying straight on the floor but I don't feel I have the strength for that just yet even though I keep trying.
Hi Karen, thank you for checking out our video! Keep both legs straight during the exercise with your residual limb resting on a towel roll. Place the towel roll a few inches in from the end of your residual limb. Even if you are not yet able to lift your bottom while completing bridges, practicing engaging that muscle will make the muscle stronger! Continue practicing and one day you will be able to lift up!
Hie sir I have lost my right leg above knee nd right arm above elbow I have started training for leg first but coz of loosing my balance from my right side I m getting difficulty in balancing plz help me out
Why did no one do any therapy on me after I had entire leg amputated? I get the idea that right after the surgery I said I didnt want to do anything concerning my lost leg. Is is right to take that serious? Anyway I am kinda screwed with my stump
It is never too late to begin therapy! We hope you can find some helpful information in our videos, but we also recommend you reach out to a local physical therapist to work with you.
Dear sir, I am from india. I lost my legs due to gangrene disease . Which kind of prosthetics are suitable for me. Please suggest me. Thank you so much. 🙏
There is definitely less information out there for people with hip disarticulation. We really highly recommend core strengthening and awareness of pelvic positioning in exercise. One example of this is in the video at 13:08 in a bridge with a pelvic rotation. This really drives the walking cycle for individuals in this situation and is a great place to start.
Thank you so much! I've looked for strength building excercises for 52 years as an AK amputee and finally found your instructional videos. They're priceless.
