Have watched this so may times. How we need to balance change with adaptation, not to lose who we are whilst not losing everything. “Can’t have, old boy. I’d’ve known about it”.
I saw this film about 20 years ago and loved it. I was home sick from work and likely because of that, only a short time later couldn't recall the name of it. I've always wanted to watch it again and now I can.
I deeply love this film but I must agree with you. It's so obvious to be distracting. Fortunately it only happens in the scene in the Turkish bath and even there, mostly in the early scene. I forgive it because the rest of the film is so wonderful and moving.
Great now I'm going to have to watch it again.
This film is possibly the greatest on aging ever, up there with wild strawberries
Roger Livesey went into the water with a body made out of plaster of paris and came out without it.
don't think anyone has copied the transition to the flashback
'Forty Years Ago' 🤗
"War starts at Midnight!"
Unfortunately stuck in a relatively Edwardian way of war.
The 'Authority' bit should be a meme.
My favorite movie of all time.
The message of this movie is as important for the world today as it was then.

How do you mean? I haven't watched this movie that well.
That is the worst make-up job on that hair piece at 2:00. How did that get past the editor? How did they even approve the rushes?
