The children are adorable, very loving and respectful. If you have never been there or lived there then you can't really generalize over a billion people. You would probably change your mind- if you had ever lived there. Shanghai is an amazing city and I felt really at home there despite the crap it is going through now- which is shocking for everyone even the Shanghainese themselves.

The best way is to stay prepped. Developing the habit of eating once a day, preparing while we have time. Learn to grow your own vegetables. Being self sufficient and mentally strong is key.

On the other hand in Hinduism lord Krishna said that I am the supreme lord, i am the God, i am everything and everything is in me. And through "Shrimadbhagwat Geeta " he teaches us a lot of valuable life lessons. That's why in most of western countries people respect "Shrimadbhagwat Geeta " as it is respected in India.
