I'm sure it benefited from being Cecil B. DeMille's second telling of the story. And you're right - the people were perfectly cast for the parts they played.
Edward G. Robinson was a miscast. He played one too many gangsters, to be believable in this film in that role. Even Bugs Bunny portrayed him as a gangster.
His country has just suffered a long series of devastating catastrophes, his son is dead, and he has just returned - alone - from witnessing his army's obliteration. He thought he could tough out any situation only to have G*d up the ante at every turn. And finally, even he had to say 'No more'.
Aaron and Miriam both strive against Moses in various ways in the Old Testament, and at one point during the 40-year wandering God even smote Miriam with leprosy as a punishment. Both Miriam and Aaron die before reaching the Promised Land.
great history. great actors. and their clothings in that era is really superb. and until to this day different religion and beliefs divide us.., however we have One True God
Maybe the lesson is wanting freedom is one thing but being ready for it is another? I don't know, you tell me. Maybe people crave a leader and if one looks like he's abandoned the responsibility another's going to take his place? Keep your people informed is a lesson they taught us in the Marines and Moses certainly wasn't keeping his people informed during that 40 day period. A lot to ponder here.
@@Northseattle- not purposely at first, God gave him chances to rethink and see reason to let go off the Israelites by sending Moses and Aron to him many times...he refuse by claiming he is a god on his own too, the hardened was meant to humble him and teach him in the hard way.. thanks
Great acting on the part of all, but Yul Brynner especially. There's Rameses, his country's a wreck, he's lost his army, he's lost his son, his wife hates him, and the look on his face tells it all: "My father was right, Moses should have been pharaoh, not me. Everything I've touched has turned to disaster."
Maybe. But the way they transitioned that scene to the red mountains seems to imply that he and his wife remained miserable for the rest of their lives, at least in this interpretation of the story.
Freeze at 1:09, seems they are both in Hell. She: You couldn't even kill him. (God is eternal.) 📖 Him: His G-d is G-d. (Every knee show bow ... Phil 2:10-11.)
This movie had perfect casting.
For 1956, nowadays people would scream whitewashing.

Pharaoh finally accepted Moses God is God, I like that
His country has just suffered a long series of devastating catastrophes, his son is dead, and he has just returned - alone - from witnessing his army's obliteration.
He thought he could tough out any situation only to have G*d up the ante at every turn.
And finally, even he had to say 'No more'.
Pust has really hurt his pride right there.
God is good
Amen.

I was always amazed that Aaron knuckled under pretty quickly
Aaron and Miriam both strive against Moses in various ways in the Old Testament, and at one point during the 40-year wandering God even smote Miriam with leprosy as a punishment. Both Miriam and Aaron die before reaching the Promised Land.
His GOD is GOD🙏🙌 Amen

Mot 100 percent accurate of what occurred. They didn't show all and the commandments were thrown but the Hollywood version was for show.
Well none of this really occurred since the exodus story is myth, not history
Funny thing is - the Pharaoh himself has just been shown his place and learned his lesson, but in the next scene we see the Israelites haven't!
So true! After all they had witnessed they decided to create their own god! 🤦🏽♀️

His god is God🙏🤔👈
In the reality of events .. Phario died in the red sea with his battalion by drowning....his chariot is still under water today. .
But his evil spirit lives, unfortunately.
The Fools Used The Only Values THEY Had To Make A Golden Calf OH My lol
"His god is God."
I like to think this is accurate and Pharaoh finally accepted the truth.
Had Ramses obeyed God through Moses, may be Egypt could still be a great Nation to these day!
U forgot God purposely hardened his heart...
@@Northseattle- not purposely at first, God gave him chances to rethink and see reason to let go off the Israelites by sending Moses and Aron to him many times...he refuse by claiming he is a god on his own too, the hardened was meant to humble him and teach him in the hard way.. thanks
Yes. Finally he admit God is God
How long we will belive in these false stories?

HIS GOD IS GOD
Makes me wonder since ramses said his god is god if he was redeemed
Maybe. But the way they transitioned that scene to the red mountains seems to imply that he and his wife remained miserable for the rest of their lives, at least in this interpretation of the story.
Why Queen angry at Moses? It was Ramses orders who callled the angel of death
Where could I bring you except to E jipped. (e gypt)
The sacred cow. India. Holy cow. A lie
This far exceeds CGI
His god _is_ God.
steal? kill? sin!!
Aaron should have known better! 🤔
Sheepish behavior seems to be human nature… The way masses are so easily led astray.
Wrongly pictured.... pharaoh die on the sea with his army.
This is a Hollywood version.😅
Noahs ark
His god is god ! 😂😂😂Get a clue! A golden sculpture🙄😂😂😂
Wrong Mt ,
The real one in Saudi Arabia
Lost of people believe in god
Freeze at 1:09, seems they are both in Hell.
She: You couldn't even kill him. (God is eternal.) 📖
Him: His G-d is G-d. (Every knee show bow ... Phil 2:10-11.)
That transition also implied that the rest of their lives became miserable
"That's where the term HOLY-COW! 🐄 came from" 🇺🇸🏙️🤓🤵✝️🛐🙏🕊️❤️🤝.
