This song was a sort of homage to the actually inimitable Spider John Koerner and was originally created for a John Peel "Night Ride" session in 1968. It first appeared on record on the Ian Anderson's Country Blues Band album "Stereo Death Breakdown" in 1969, and shortly afterwards on the Top 30 compilation "Son Of Gutbucket" where it was sandwiched between Creedence Clearwater Revival and Canned Heat tracks - it thus remains technically Ian's "greatest hit" (by default)!
