- Hey !
Today is not one, but two videos ! These are two improvements on the previous strategy for this star, both resulting from a new discovery : a very precise slidekick. There are two videos because this game has a version difference when bouncing on enemies.
This is the previous strat for v1.0 ( • Super Mario 64 DS - Go... ) and this is the previous strat for v1.1 ( • [TAS] Super Mario 64 D... )
This is the strat on the other version: • (SM64DS) Go to town fo...
Note that for both version, there was already a 0xB strategy using the Remote Interaction Glitch (see explanation here: • The Secret Under the M... , but since it takes literally centuries to set up, we are still looking for alternatives.
This new strategy hinges on probably one of the simplest discovery in the recent developments of this challenge: a slidekick between two buildings. Specifically, the one at: 2:30
In the previous strats, we used a jump to go over this gap, because despite how close it looked, a slidekick barely isn't enough to make it across. I'm not kidding when I say I tried for hours in the past few years. I always came back to it because idk maybe that time a slidekick would make it across. And a few days ago, it did.
The tricky thing about this is that the ceiling is slanted, so going further left will give one or two more frames of falling after a slidekick rollout, but the distance to reach that lower point will be greater. This weekend, when I was trying again after the subject was brought up again, I stumbled upon the perfect angle and position that would let Luigi cross the gap.
So yeah, the rest of the strat is pretty much the same as the previous one. We need to lure the skeeters over the right parts of the town so that we can use them to climb back up.
On 1.0, we use the slow kick glitch to have reduced gravity that we can keep after the skeeter bounce. Once we climb the center of the town, we can drop down to the white building and collect its coin.
On 1.1, we need to hold B to get enough height from the skeeter. However, when we hold B, we can't swim as fast (doing swimming strokes by spamming Y or B is faster than holding) and so we can't make it onto the closest building with the slanted ceiling. Therefore instead, we climb the town using both skeeters, then we go collect the coin on the white building while raising the water level again, then we can release the B button and go to the slanted ceiling building.
The rest of the coins are trivially collectable 0x, which concludes the proof. Uhhhh I mean the video.
Anyways thanks for watching and reading ! See you on the 21st of the November for a new crazy SM64DS video :3
Love y'all
❤️❤️❤️
Hell yeah, 4 more mins of skeeter manip
This title could give a Victorian child a seizure.

Unrelated, but I just realised your channel background is the same as my phone case
@@jojo0753 Yeah I think I added that when I was 13. Also the music box in the middle is something I edited in which used to be my old pfp
Does collecting red coins mess with the music? The music didn't sound quite right at 1:13 and 1:20.
The music changes
It's normal
@@kogmawmain8872 yeah, I think some instruments stop playing their note and pick back up at the next one. It might be a restriction on the sound channels ? No idea tbh
Cool video bro
A B press is a B press. You can't say it's only a half!
