god, he sounds so much better in this one single clip than any piece he played at the recent Chopin International Competition where he had to play a Fazioli. Those dreadful Fazioli are perfectly tuned and regulated, but almost no overtones, lifeless and without warmth. Some performers obviously like their perfect pitch and regulation, but what a sacrifice! They spend a fortune on marketing and supplying pianos for public performances and artists, but no great pianist should ever go near one.
Man... "almost lifeless and without warmth" that sounds strange to hear especially when half of the top six prize winners of the Chopin Competition played on Fazioli pianos. I can't imagine pianists being able to make it that far on pianos that are only perfect in their pitch and regulation as you mention. Also, who forced him to play Fazioli? As far as I'm aware, the competitors were allowed to choose any of the pianos they were interested in.

If so, despite what you said about “ dreadful Fazoli”, Bruce Liu still emerged as the winner, that says a lot about what a great artist this guy is!!
