My daughters (now 27 and 22) started doing their own laundry from the age of 12. I also taught them to wash up and wipe the kitchen sides down before settling down for the evening.
Lovely to join your chat this morning Charlie ❤️ penny and Florence made me smile too. Your tidy kitchen rule reminded me that my mum always set the table for breakfast before bed. An uber organised woman she was 😂 I think my home needs corner windows , I was gazing out of yours thinking what a special view that is. Warmest hugs to you all xxx
Dear Charlie! Happy New Year. I cannot agree more with what you suggest, especially arriving at a clean kitchen in the morning. Isn't it the best way of starting a day, besides my coffee. Greetings from Spain. Mirta
Dear Charlie, Love this! ❤️ A delightful conversation! I would love to hear about your evening routine as I’m impressed you do the kitchen every evening, as well as your morning routine as it seems like you manage to squeeze so much in! 😍 X
Thanks so much for this chat Charlie. It makes sense & was so helpful. Encouraged me to take time out for myself- I feel guilty taking ‘me time’ as there’s always so much to do but I can see it would actually have a positive effect. You’re very inspiring. Thankyou. Ruth 😊
Smiling as I listened to this - while tidying the house. And you inspired me to demand a child returned to the bathroom to pick up the empty loo roll that had been discarded on the floor! If I hadn’t been listening I’d have just dealt with in myself!!! Lovey listening, Jojo xx
I get really frustrated by my adult boys (18,22) coming in on an evening and starting to cook at midnight ! So I go to bed with a clean kitchen but in the morning go downstairs to a mess ! They are normally escape the house early as we are farmers before i hit the roof. Any advice ??
Hi Charlie, can I ask you a question about your Saville marmalade recipe? I have never eaten marmalade before so do not have a reference. I have followed your recipe to the letter but it leaves a slight bitter after taste, is this normal?
My neighbour Helen Bankes from the Old Mill tried to make a homemaking video but it all went terribly wrong and we had to delete it. Her routine is a bottle of Baileys at 11am, gin and dubonnets from noon and then she orders Deliveroo and collapses. I think she misunderstands her homemaking ability because she has 3 daily cleaners and a gardener but she is blotto when they arrive and then comes to after they have gone so she doesn't remember they exist. She's always saying, "I do all my best cleaning when I've had a few drinks!" Her video proved that what actually happens is she runs around the house in just a bra banging on about Diana being murdered by MI5 and then passes out on the floor with a Deliveroo burger, wakes up around 6pm when George gets home and thinks she has cleaned the entire house.
Oh my goodness Charlie you have hit the nail on the head THANK YOU .
Listening to you gives me my down time .
So thank you again .
