Hi Charlie! I had to interrupt watching your lovely and inspiring video to make a suggestion, if you are interested: A food processor. It's my right hand in the kitchen. Place of honor on the counter! After trying many, I prefer the Breville Sous Chef 16 cup. You would only have to peel and quarter these onions and it dices them, literally in seconds. I also add the dried herbs in with the onions and it bruises them and releases more flavor while sautéing. I also use it extensively when making Bolognese and chop very finely some vegetables in them. My husband has a strong aversion to vegetables, but has given me permission to add them to things, provided he can neither see nor taste them. So I add finely chopped spinach or purreed broccoli or aubergine, etc. to it, and even in burgers and meatballs. Amazingly enough, my eldest son told me that he has ordered Bolognese in restaurants and it's not nearly as good, without the vegetables hiding in ;-). But seriously, the food processor also grates things in seconds, even ginger, mixes quick doughs etc. It can also shave half frozen meat in thin slices and also juliennes vegetables as finely as you wish. Two nights ago I was able to mix ...muffins (from scratch, start to finish, wet ingredients and sugar first) less than ten minutes in the food processor and prepare them for the children's lunch boxes. It can also temper eggs with hot liquids etc.
My neighbour Helen Bankes from the Old Mill had trouble with getting pregnant and she found a gynocologist who helped her have 5 children. It was only years later that George found out he was infertile. Things got pretty frosty for a while but he got over it eventually and he raised them like his own (although tbf that was because he thought they _were_ his for 15 years)
Such a lovely blog video this week Charlie 😊 really very much enjoyed it! So nice to see someone else’s day to make you realise you aren’t alone having haywire days or simply busy busy ones! Having done your AGA and sewing course I’d be really interested in a 2022 efficient home/home making course too.....anything organising based and I’m there! ☺️ Happy weekend x
This is my fave video so far! Real life content! I loved the drown footage in the very beginning! Your property is beautiful! The vino and the end of the long day… I can relate! Bravo 👏
Absolutely loved this - a day well done! And so honest for us moms! I am so excited for the possibility of your podcast-something definitely to look forward to! Thanks again Charlie! 💕
Really enjoyed this video Charlie - you’re ‘unflappability’ is admirable! Also a great lesson in getting things done and prepped early in case the rest of the day goes astray. I’m really inspired by your early morning workouts, I think that is something I can pretty easily incorporate into my day xxx
Oh my goodness, you take me back to my school run days !! I remember so well dropping my youngest off for his school bus and then realised that he had my house key in his pocket. Only to follow the bus to the next village and get out in my pjs (Disney princess) and coat to retrieve them 🤦🏼♀️ . Love the video. X
Lovely vlog. First time watcher here I am a Brit but in the US right now. I will say I'm sure you know this now but you shouldn't give any onion or garlic to dogs, it destroys their red blood cells and it can very easily kill them, it doesnt take much at all. I miss having an aga but am in a very hot part of the US and that just wouldn't work here.
Cant wait to see kitchen finishes
