In the 70's during the Watergate affair that toppled Richard Nixon, these so called modern journalists would ask for the names, phone numbers, employers and home addresses of all the people that have information and evidence of the wrong doing and that information and the data about the informants would be handed over to Nixon's goons to make the problem go away. That is how far we have fallen in the west.

You certainly shouldn't engage with MSM outlets, I did once for the BBC years ago, just a street interview - and they asked if I knew what "devolution" was. I asked them to elaborate, because there's a couple things that could be referring to - "do you mean governmental or anthropological?". They didn't elaborate, literally just staring at me, so I just said "OK then, no I don't". They then said it was to do with the government, so now I knew how they where using the word, and then spoke about it for a few minutes. They only ended up using me in a quick, very mocking, cut of people saying they didn't know what the word meant - when I evidently knew a lot more about the topic than the woman interviewing. Dirty, dirty smear merchants.

I'd just gotten a job with one of the first companies that was located in the Docklands and had to take the DLR to and from work. Every time I'd used it I never had an issue but back then there were enormous problems with it. I'm on the way home and I look up and there's a TV camera pointed in my face. They asked what I thought of the service and I said I personally had no issue with it every time I used it. The other people they interviewed were less than kind in their assessment. Guess who's interview they used on the TV that night? Yes, mine. The next day people at work who saw me on the TV were pi$$ed that I was positive. 🤔

The reason we don't have a picture or real name as gamers is simple, there are 2.
    1. Because in game we are NOT our race, gender, income, disability or whatever, we are just another gamer, we are all equal. Noone cares what you make, or what skin color you have, can you hang in game? or can't you?
    2. It's the internet, you expose yourself to 1000000s of people at the same time, the chance that one of them would be a sicko that would come find you in real life is at least not non existent.

My initial thoughts were she was simultaneously trying to shame these people for being scared to show their faces and names and hoping to document, dox and harass the leading people for the next 10 years just like they have been since gamergate. All she really did was just expose her own ignorance and complete disconnect with actual gamers.
I mean who the fuck uses their full name, job title and picture for a god damn discord account? It's like she thinks this is linkedin or something.

Pride insulates you from real connection with the majority of other humans. Even with “peers,” you may have to hide your deepest, most vulnerable thoughts and feelings to remain socially secure. It makes people miserable, and they increasingly try to fling their misery on others.
This journalist seems very proud and seeking a confrontation from the groundlings. There is a human being under that pomp, and probably an acutely miserable one. I pray they will one day be a person who looks for truth vs. scandal and can cringe at how they have acted.

Of all the game developers I know, who I've known for almost a decade if not more; All of them and myself too agree on one thing and only one thing, how much we together dislike Kotaku. In a couple of cases, both Kotaku and TenTonHammer journalists were especially rude and elitist around two of these friends of mine at E3 and they informed me about it online, this was 10 years ago, following this I asked others I knew what they thought, they told me that they never had run ins with TenTonHammer, but they did Kotaku and agreed that Kotaku are noisy, do not understand gamers, do not understand game development and spin hit pieces; And it isn't the fault of the individual journalists, it is the culture of Kotaku as a company and that culture is forced on those who work there and if they refuse to embrace it, they are fired and when they embrace it they then get indoctrinated by it, very much a Devil Wears Prada situation there, except social politics.
And that was the situation a decade ago, it has only got worse and Kotaku only has more influence now. With that said, with a 'certain' journalist who was the worst example of all of them now gone from the company, game developers these days are less concerned with Kotaku's nonsense. They don't hold as much power as they once did.

Sweet baby inc doesn't do what we think it does? Hmm... so it doesn't offer narrative consultation? It doesn't have that bizarre mission statement on their website about how important representation is despite story telling already being about as diverse as possible? What you're telling me you can't find a story about your culture in this day and age? I think you're just not searching hard enough if that's what you want. So basically they do exactly what I think they do. They get hired, come in, offer "suggestions" that have to be done else you don't get certain benefits than leave with the story ruined and the writer now terrified of changing anything as their boss has a metaphorical gun to their head. They don't do that?
Serious question about representation. How many of you has a favourite that looks exactly like look you? Hell let's go by Nationality. I have a few favourite English characters but they're not like me at all nor look like me. Most of my favourite characters are a completely different sex or species. Hell at this point most of my favourites are Japanese in origin at this point because they are actual characters that I get connect with.

I'm old enough to remember the 90s internet. Back then anonymity was assumed. In fact, people would think you were insane if you used your real name or gave away identifying information, for obvious reasons. Then, the cia, I mean cuckerberg, released lifelog, I mean facebook and normies the world over gave away personal information that literally the day before "everyone" knew was a bad idea. Then a few really stupid people didn't just proclaim their own identity, but went out of their way to prove who they were by giving their social security numbers and photo id to a social media company. A blue check basically means severe brain damage. The kind of person who becomes a corpo journalist is the kind of person who chases status (because the pay is a pittance) and thinks that people who have checkmarks next to their real identity is a status symbol. And because these people have severe brain damage, they can't even approach the basic empathy to understand someone else's obvious motives.

09:00 Herbert Marcuse's repressive tolerance, this is literally the system as intended. Whatever is "right-wing" is just what the mainstream culture defines it as such, if Feminism becomes "right-wing" there is 0 tolerance for it because it's all about Trans Activism now, when the tables switch and TERFs become "left-wing" and Trans Activists become "right-wing" then we will see the same behaviour in the opposite direction. These terms are fluid and change to whatever the activists want it to mean.

It was shocking seeing his video on the game be put side by side with his privated stream showing how little he understood basics of how the game worked.
