- With Leonard Bernstein's "Symphonic Dances" from the world-famous musical "West Side Story", former Chief Conductor Eiji Oue (term from 1998 to 2009) is back on the conductor's podium of the NDR Radiophilharmonie. Oue is at home in Bernstein's repertoire and was promoted by the composer himself.

Eiji Oue is one of the most outstanding conductors among the many students who studied under Bernstein, and he was highly trusted by Bernstein.
At the first PMF Music Festival in 1990, he performed as a substitute for the ill Bernstein.
After Bernstein's death, his family gave him the baton and jacket that Bernstein used in his final concert as a keepsake.
Amazing, all of the foreign conductors who studied under Bernstein are exceptional interpreters of American music.

Wunderschöne und detaillierte Aufführung dieser modernen und perfekt komponierten Tänze mit farbenprächtigen doch perfekt entsprechenden Tönen aller Instrumente. Der intelligente und geniale japanische Dirigent leitet das ausgezeichnete deutsche Orchester im gut analysierten Tempo und mit sorgfältig kontrollierter Dynamik. Faszinierend vom Anfang bis zum Ende!
