Nearly 300 Aircraft: The JetBlue Fleet In 2023

- When it comes to passengers carried, JetBlue was the 6th-largest airline in the Untied States. The carrier placed just behind 5th-place Alaska and ahead of Spirit in 7th. When it comes to fleet size, the carrier, and its 280 aircraft rank 8th in the country. In this video, we examine the JetBlue fleet in greater detail, and how it is modernizing its collection of aircraft to offer more capacity, travel longer distances, and be more efficient.

I'm a big fan of Jetblue. They're the largest carrier at Boston which is where I mostly fly from, and I've never had a bad experience with them. The fact they operate and are ordering so many a220s (my favorite aircraft) just solidifies that.
I would love to see JetBlue invest in some Airbus widebodies as it expands! Also regarding the Spirit-JB deal, I think that them merging would allow for other ULCC to expand, such as Breeze or Allegiant
The A330neo would be a good fit!
@@heidirabenau511 Yes, especially if they’re opening up new routes to Europe. They could also take some of their other hubs, other than JFK and BOS or a focus city, to LHR or maybe even deeper into Europe.
@@kahulub we’re going to Paris and Amsterdam soon
Bad fit .. once you introduce a wide body to a fleet . The ground handling has to change.. sticking with an all narrow body fleet allows flexibility and turn around time.
@@thomasburke7995 actually false, our ground handling team is very capable of adapting to other aircraft as we have took on the Job of aer lingus A330 fleet at jfk and Boston
JetBlue has my heart. Solid low cost carrier, amenities offered not even legacy carriers can match.
I would love to see some wide bodies in JetBlue livery and seeing their expansion into Europe, it’s only a matter of time before they do start getting wide bodies to better serve the slots they have
I wouldn’t consider then a low cost carrier anymore but they are an amazing airline
I love this fleet, the neos and the a220s are so beautiful and efficient.
YES LETS A GO JET BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!
I would like to see JetBlue grow, but I think a Virgin America merger would have been a better fit for them. If the Spirit merger is to go through, it would be a mash of 2 different route networks and airline cultures. Spirit as a ULCC, their route network has primarily been built off flying from secondary airports, with employees who may be more price sensitive as snacks, carry ons, etc aren’t included in ticket prices.
Spirit network may have been "built off" secondary airports but these days they do fly into high profile congested airports. Other than Atlantic City what cities can really be thought of as secondary airports? They fly into Newark and LGA. They fly into Boston, not providence. They fly into LAX not Long Beach. They fly into Houston Intercontinental, Not Houston Hobby. DFW not Dallas Love....They fly into Charlotte AND RDU....So you see Spirit really isnt as bare bones and low cost like Frontier and Avelo. Oakland is the one city Spirit has chosen to go to the secondary airport and thats really it unless you can think of more. I cant lol. Spirit was already going to add wifi before the merger too. I agree Virgin would have been a better fit for a multitude of reasons for jetblue. I wish that happened
I think you are confused, Spirits bases are Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, and Vegas… those aren’t secondary cities
Also, employees aren’t “price sensitive”
I love Jetblue! I first flew with them back in 2004 and have stuck with them ever since. ❤❤❤
The one thing that would be interesting to see would be JetBlue buying A330 NEO's.
Now, that would be something.
280 PLANES WTH THATS MORE THAN SOME FULL FLAG CARRIERS LIKE SINGAPORE AIRLINES WHATTTT
Let’s go JetBlue, I hope this JetBlue/Spirit gets approved soon. It is the best deal for the customers, I love JetBlue and we will all benefit out of this. More destinations, more airplanes, and more service. Let’s go JetBlue.
With less competition, there would be price hikes. May not be the best for customers
@@serkandevel7828 How may airlines does it take to compete in your view?
Higher fares. Less ULCCs and less competition
Never flown with JetBlue but I’ll be changing that this summer 😊👍🏽
did you try us 😅
Proud crewmember 💙
Same! JFK TAL
The a330-900 neo would be such a good fit for their transatlantic flights.
I think JetBlue and Alaska should consider merging. They have different fleets, but complimentary route networks that could make a strong merged airline. While having some differences, it's not the same clash of cultures a Spirit/JetBlue merger would bring
Why the fuck do they need to merge?
Why not keep both options
@@congresssux9766 I like having options myself, but Jet Blue and someof the other airlines may feel the need to merge for longer term survival.
I doubt Alaska or JetBlue would go under anytime soon
Nah Alaska Just Merged with VA if anybody should be worried about going under it’ll be AA it’ll start slow but just watch as time goes on !!
JetBlue has hands down the best narrowbody business class cabin I have ever seen
I just landed back home and I flew JB and it was great
I am a fan of JetBlue Airways. However, their fares have been creeping up a lot lately (almost triple in the some routes like JFK to The Dominican Republic). I do believe that JetBlue Airways will be driving up airfares noticeably like they have been doing even before their plans to merge with Spirits.
I won't fly anything, but Jetblue. Best airline ever. Never late and friendly employees.
And I would love to fly on There A220-300's & A321Neos alongside there A321LR'S & A321XLR's too.
I would be happy to see a world without spirit. So I want this merger to happen.
But as my professor of organisational design said, "Boeing bought McDonald Douglas. But actually it was McDonald Douglas that took over Boeing." Because after the merger the organization that was formed involved most of the execs and management jobs filled with people from McDonald Douglas while the engineers and the other technical jobs were majority from Boeing. That's when Boeing stopped making good planes and started chasing profits over good planes.
I don't want this to happen with JetBlue and spirit.
What would happen was what happened to Pan Am after they purchased National airlines
Lane comparison but OK
People concerned about crossing the pond in a narrow body?
They have forgotten the time we crossed the pond in aircraft that were a bit narrower than the A321, the B707's & DC8's.
It's nothing new. There was the whole 757 era as well.
would love to see you do a video of the fleet of FedEx one day in the future, i find it nice that they name their planes after the children of its staff (last i heard)
Yep still do. Btw the 777 and 767 took the tail numbers from the 727's
It would be so cool if JetBlue used widebodies.
Looking forward to first narrow body flight to London next month.
I love their A220s!
They’re by far my favorite US airline
I've never flown B6 but they are based at my job airport and I Iike them. They have been shrewd and guarded about how they deal to expand service, but it seems that the purchase of NK may not be as smooth as we expected, so they may hit some turbulence in a short bit. We will have to sit and watch what happens.
I'll be disappointed if one of their jet names isn't, "I'm Blue da ba Dee da ba dye"
YESSSS FINALLYYYY!!!
I love Jet Blue and have flown with them since inception. I agree with the other comments below , Jet blue service is superior to the Bigger 4 carriers. Their fleet is modern and I would have to say -without checking - their departures on time would have to be on top of the list. Finally , living in Australia and travelling to the USA frequently via Hawaiian Airlines , their codeshare and miles works for us .
Team jetBlue here💙🔵🤍⚪
My airline, thank you❤
Love JetBlue.. their rewards system is garbage but everything else is good value.. tip that I’ve learned recently: Book thru American for JetBlue flights.
yes i love the blue
Virgin Atlantic a340 “mines bigger than yours”
That’s funny
0:21 that was a butter landing.
If JetBlue and Spirit merged, I’d wish JetBlue would have its regular service like it does now, then a new division where it’s just like how Spirit does it now. You could have flights like Boston to Orlando for example have the usual pricing that it has now with its 3 fares and having options within those fares, but also have a division of flights where it’s essentially pay for the ticket and then everything else. Yes I know that’s what blue basic essentially is but breeze and avelo charge for nearly everything. Don’t give the option on certain flights and break it down like spirit and frontier already do. Bag? Charged, Seat selection? Charged, Priority boarding? Charged. Maybe as well with some of the spirit planes, our new seats in and extend the legroom like JetBlue has, but don’t put Tv Screens in. You’re not getting more on a flight so why pay the same price?
Another note, I just hope JetBlue paints one A220 into the blueprint livery. It’ll be sad that once N304JB is retired it’ll be gone but hopefully they put the blueprint livery on a different plane
Great video mister ❤❤❤
Ever since southwest ran Jet blue out of Long Beach. I dont see them much anylonger out west.
It was the city of long beach that left jetblue with no choice but leave because of noise ordinances and unwillingness to build a customs even though it was promised when jetblue invested all the money into the airport that it is today. JetBlue is now out of LAX.
@@Meowmeow-lj4sv well how are southwest 737 doing 30 flights with the noise ordance and domestic flights only?
@@djjamar if you take a look at the route infrastructure from what it was before JetBlue left to nowadays, it couldn’t be any more different between the two airlines. That and the hubs each airline operate out of have had a severe impact on operations. The city and JetBlue had a long and complicated relationship.
I'm Team JetBlue Airways all the way I hope too fly and earn points with them 100%
If JetBlue ordered Airbus wide bodies it would cost more money in training pilots and maintenance
If they’ve ordered a330s, they will spend little money in training their pilots as the mechanics for the a320 and the a330 are very similar. Any a320 pilot can fly an a330. It’s not like they are gonna buy a 777, which is totally different to an a330.
We loved JetBlue. We would still be Jetblue people,.........if they hadn't pulled out of Long Beach airport. 😟
JetBlue will be taking on a few A330s as they continue to seek to expand their international presence. They will initially fly from JFK. The airline has published A330 operations at JFK internally. Expect an announcement this fall. You didn’t learn this from me 😉
It’s winter and they still haven’t published any a330 operations. I hope they do tho. They prolly will in 2024 tho
I want to fly the "I Just Blue Myself" plane
the max seating capacity in the A321-200 Neo regardless of carrier type should be limited to no more than 184 seats & whereas seats in the A321-200 Neo LR serving trans-continental long haul routes could do with just 118 - 123 seats . . . JetBlue could do with a full service subsidiary & operate some wide bodies in the process . . . A350-900 ULR & A350-1000 HGW . . .
Jet blue on top
u shd feature oman air
A blue spirit livery????
JB needs more western slots
The airports are not slot airports. It's more a gate space and market share issue. Other airlines are prefered on the west coast.
I've heard getting space at western airports is part of the reason they're buying Spirit.
A merger with Alaska would help them compete with the big 3
2:53 - you forgot "Joel Peterson" who is (or was) that?
Hi LHSF, can you please do Saudia’s fleet? 🙏🏽
Yessss
Fun fact, the aircraft are named by employees.
how about Suite Madame Blue, Blue Oyster Cult,
I love to see what name my plane has.
I think that JetBlue should keep buying regional and international planes from Airbus. But I think a merger with Spirt would be a bad idea because Spirt is a low budget airline and JetBlue is not. It would be better for Sprit to merge with another low budget airline such as Frontier.
Airline aggeration is as old as..er.. airlines. There have been literally hundreds of "airlines" in the Western world. Lufthansa is itself was a forced merger of several airlines. Economics dictate who will be viable. It's just that simple.
I think JetBlue should not margin to spirit airways and I think JetBlue needs new airplanes
I don't know whose side to join but jet blue should stay with their A220s
🎉🎉🎉
TO THIS JETPLANE PASSAGE BLOGGER [“LONG HAUL BY SIMPLE FLYING”], WHAT “A JETBLUE A321’S FLIGHT RANGE” AND Y’ALL, “LATEST A321 VIEWERS, ‘MAY YOUR GRAND CREATOR BLESS’ ALL!!” ✈️✈️
JetBlue has a WEST COAST PROBLEM??? Why are you NOT ADING MORE CITY to your route like the EAST coast???
And I hate to break our powerless government and they're spirit But Spirit is in jeopardy of filing for bankruptcy and about to suffer the same fate TWA did the merger makes airline business since ✈️
I overall like the idea of it. It is an honor. The deepest shame that Biden in those underneath his leader ship don’t understand the concept of this type of business practice.
JetBlue need to buy a330-800
Nobody buys that aircraft. Only 8 in service.
Has Very poor economics,
Pan am of 21th century
America's Worst Airline will have better reviews and be a better airline when Spirit-JetBlue merger is approved by the goverment will be amazing and it should put a Order for the new A321XLR like American Airlines and United Airlines
I’m don’t like this airline ? As a Dominican I was see jet blue behavior , for this reason a love travel on delta and I’m not airbus fan
You.... Don't like the airline just because they use planes you aren't a fan of?
And doesn't Delta have a major airbus fleet over Boeing? Aren't they planning to replace their B737's with A320's, B757 with the A321XLR and the B767 with the A330NEO?
I don't like the idea of spending 5 hours on a narrow body. So if I'm ever flying transatlantic, I'll check what plane the airline typically uses for the route first.
It's fine in you fly business class.
ive done 8 hours on air portugal. Was just fine. In fact the seats are spaced in the capacity they need to. really there wasnt a difference at all and more access to the bathrooms.
And Blue Film 😂
Long haul in an A321 .. no thanks ..
