I actually chose him from the selector today. You still got a tank which is great. He may not be as shiny as Aventurine, you can still get a tank and a lot of CC.
The best thing about Geppie is that his shield comes from his ult so he doesn't require any skill points (he generates a lot, in fact). Gives him a speed boot, ERR robe and I have my shield up on cool down.
He was my first 5* , on the 50 banner. I thought I got the short end of the stick....BUT MAN WAS I WRONG!!! My Laudau boy here basically piles on DEF and the game took a turn for easy mode 100%. Now I don't take him off the team, he is my stapple!
My story is similar to yours! I got Gepard at 50 pity on the starter banner, I was disappointed with him at first because he took forever to regenerate energy for his ult, and now...after equipping an ERR rope on him, Gepard is in every single team I use for most things these days 😅
My first as well, got him from standard at 3 pity and was sad that it's not Welt, Bronya or Himeko...boy was I wrong Then I got Bronya from novice, her LC from standard and her E1 haha But... I can forego Bronya. Gepard? Naaaaaaaaaaaaah

First 5* on standard, I have to admit, I was disappointed at first, but like Zhongli from GI, I feel safe in his arms. He is the most well built unit in my account (purely from farming for Jing Yuan). He can solo sustain my team, no healers needed. I now only need his LC and this man will be legendary and continue to carry my account like a chad that he is.

About to watch, but thank you thank you thank you! There’s so many guides for the flashier big number dps standard 5 stars but so few about the 5 star supports. As someone that happily pulled Gepard (plus lightcone), Bailu, and Welt from the standard warps and is still a bit clueless about team building/stat priorities, this is much appreciated, Sevy!!
The tip about equipping a SPD boot brings up an interesting point. I'm TL 50/EQ 4 right now, and I'm noticing that Gepard is prone to getting energy debuffs that slow him down, which prevents me from using his ult at the right time. Unless I use his technique in advance, I have to either pray for the enemies to aggro Gepard first or risk my whole team being close to dying too early, and I tend to forget using techniques when I'm on my daily farming grinds. I may consider switching the DEF boots I have on him right now to SPD boots as soon as I get recent relics. Thanks for the guide, Sevy!
Same here, he constantly gets frozen, imprisoned --- choose your debuff and even though I gave him a 5* ER rope to make it more comfy this is still a real issue. I'd be curious to hear about your experiences once you switch to SPD boots.
I'm T/L 60 and I'm prioritizing def at all relics but I pretty much grind to get the best subtats that have speed, EHT and EFF. And when gepard got a speed debuff makes it quite hard . That's why a good amount of EFF is good pinch :')
Didn't particularly want him either...still pulled him, so may as well take advantage. Just a bit salty that it could have been Bronya or Welt...or Bailu...or Clara...

I thought he was the 5-star I wanted the least, mostly because I love my preservation trailblazer, and I already have my Bailu at E2, but after watching this, I am a little more excited about building him. And he will definitely be helpful for when I need more than one team.
At first I was kinda sadge when I got Gepard as my guaranteed 5star, but now that I started diving into MoC, I'm glad that I got him. He makes team building so much easier.
He is quite literally my favorite character in hsr, i love using him and the is such a comfort to have on my team, as someone who usually takes unconventional aproaches to the games i do want to max out the little geppie and do the most i can to make him as meaty as posible
Something of note, freezing enemies can accelerate the rate at which they take damage from DoTs like Shock, Bleed, and Wind Shear. When an enemy unfreezes, it doesn't completely lose its turn, it actually gets action advanced into the next turn as well. Because an enemy unfreezing counts as a turn though, DoT effects trigger, and buffs and debuffs have their turn count reduced. This is particularly noticable in simulated universe if you went the Nihility path. You'll see interactions where a frozen boss will unfreeze only to move 30-60 units later in a turn. Itd hard to fully explain, and admittedly I'm not super well versed and haven't done any TC around it, but it could have some considerably implications in teambuilding. TLDR: non-break freezes "action advance" your DoT damage.

I lost the 50/50 to him on Jing Yuan's banner but I'm not even mad. He's super useful. I have him next to Jing Yuan and he does help with generating energy quite a bit. Geppie and Jing Yuan are my first two to get ascended to level 40.
As soon as I reached 300 pulls on the standard banner I picked him. No regrets at all, he has made so many fights & Simulated Universe in general a breeze.
Thanks for this vid! Gepard is also my first from the gold ticket, and I found the other 3* light cone, the "Defense", to be really good on him. Gepard sure takes a lot of hits, so his HP falling below 50% is a bit scary. With the 3* cone "Defense", good Energy Regen Rate, and hefty HP, he can almost always be at 80% of his max HP whenever he casts his Ult, helping the team healer to watch over the squishy members more.
@@jackdawn6374 You can use him in the other team in MoC. It's how play it with Clara+March 7 in one team and Seele and Gepard in the other team. Though this does mean that you will not be using Fire MC unless you really need to break fire shields then you can replace gepard with fire MC but I find gepard better as a tank and he does not need to use skill points.
I lost 5050 early on seele banner to him. Hes one of my favourite units and i am beyond glad i got him. Sheild and utility aside he makes simulated an asolute joke since you can use either preservstion or abundance blessings and your team becomes super safe.
Im seeing a lot of “when i first got him i thought he was bad but now he doesnt leave my team” comments and honestly im part of that group 😂 when i made another acc on a diff server i got himeko and oh boy did i miss his thick ass shield. If natasha wasn’t free early game i think I’d quit cuz my chars are so defenseless without any shield but yeah gepard is a great beginner 5 star and will carry you throughout contents

At first I didn't like him because I wanted another character. But he grew on me very quickly because I realized how valuable and strong his shield is, and also because I'm super unlucky with relics (and artifacts in genshin) and always rolling Def and Def% so he was super easy to build with my unluckiness. Now my Gepard has more Def than Hp which obviously makes his shield super thicccc, I switch between Landau's Choice and We Are Wildfire(mainly because of the higher base Def between the 2)
I was expecting to get him or Clara from the Stellar Warp/Departure Warp but I got Bailou instead. I'm so glad that had happened after I found out that Bailou can revive a teammate upon defeat. I still want him though 'cuz I enjoy playing on Auto more than manual mode. 😅🤩

This dude gave me a heart attack when he came in Jing yuan banner then in the next 3 pulls jing yuan came. This guy is not copium, i repeat even if you lose 50/50 to this guy, he is not copium.
Gepard was my first 5 star I got when I started the game. He basically carried me through most of the content. Same with Clara after I got her shortly after. Unfortunately Clara has fallen off of my priorities, but I plan on amping her gear to get her competitive again.
Got people laughing at me for pulling Gepard while they all got their Bronyas. I'm the one laughing now on floor 6 of memory of chaos while they can barely pass level 4 if lucky lol. Gepard is a really good boy I have his E1 and I love him. Tho I wish to get another cryo 5* very soon-

5:54 I'd argue that his skill goes first before his talent (Heck, it should be last even). If there's ever a run that Gepard actually dies, I already consider that a failed run. In any case, utility is a lot more useful.
ive honestly never used his revive. usually when he dies, the rest of the team is already did. i wish his e6 did something more contributing to his kit, but at the same time i'm thankful that an integral part of his gameplay isnt locked behind eidolons.
Guepard was my second 5 star and i love it. It's just impossible to continue to play when a player experiement the guepard shield experience. I play him with arlan, and now jin yuang and most importantly in mono ice team with yanquing march 7th for counter and pela for help yanquing to does dammage.
Ngl- this is a mild humble brag but it’s a whirlwind of an adventure for me. So I managed to pull on the standard banner today and got Geppie and thought that it was pretty cool and checked my characters to level and get some more wishes but he wasn’t there… thought it was a bug and restarted the game twice while looking up his kit on my phone and was kinda ‘eh’d by him because I misunderstood some stuff and it was just mildly upsetting but I was ok. Then I found out it was his lightcone and I was malding. Like- I was pissed But shunted it on my March 7th and called it a day, went back to my wishes and pulled one last ticket then BOOM GEPPIE… I decided it was fate and had to build him, so now I’m here. Thank you for the video 😂 really like the sound of him after a proper explanation, just gotta wait for energy until I can get him up and running

I got Gepard E2 and don't even have a Welt copy yet. I reeeeally want him all the way to E4 but I'm too poor to be whaling excessively. Still pretty happy and hopefully I can pick up another copy or two within the next couple of patches. ^_^

I am lucky to get Gepard from the standard banner with my 1st 50 pulls and he has helped me stay alive together with natasha. Now I have Bailu after loosing 50-50 on seele banner. The problem I have with him now is that he's too slow and I did not manage to get a speed boot for him . His current speed is only 98 and his defence is 2100+
i pulled gepard on my alt account on the first 10 pull on the beginner banner and i also pulled tingyun on the first 10 pulls on the jing yuan banner, i was so shocked that happened on my alt when my main acc is so unlucky pulling these 2 characters

Gepard is basically the Zhongli of Star Rail. I got him on the beginner banner and haven't looked back. Truly a gigachad of damage absorption.

Gepard's become my safety blanket. MIght just run him and Luocha if I get them on a guaranteed pity, and just be comfy as hell.
Add Welt (if you get/have him) and any DPS and you won't have to do aaaaaaanything at all anymore. Game'll play itself.

I was expecting to get him or Clara from the Stellar Warp/Departure Warp but I got Bailou instead. I'm so glad that had happened after I found out that Bailou can revive a teammate upon defeat. I still want him though 'cuz I enjoy playing on Auto more than manual mode. 😅🤩
With Gepard, no one in your team dies so you don’t need a revive anyways.
@@jeremypaulevan True, that's why I want to get him. I haven't get to unlock the domain for the Relics so my Character's gear are not fully optimized yet.
@@llenivra2ty yeah it’s very easy to build him too, just slap some def relics on him, spd and er too depending on your preferences and you’re good to go. He could also utilize most pf the f2p lightcones

Yesterday I got Geppard and Jingyuan, I couldn't be happier.
Got his sign from standard and later on himself from jing yuan's banner. And have his relic most built among other standard *5 char. Now SU become much easier. Thanks for the vid, keep it up 🙂

He is my first 5 star character and after pulling in the standard banner I got his 5 star light cone.
This dude gave me a heart attack when he came in Jing yuan banner then in the next 3 pulls jing yuan came. This guy is not copium, i repeat even if you lose 50/50 to this guy, he is not copium.
Gepard was my first 5 star I got when I started the game. He basically carried me through most of the content. Same with Clara after I got her shortly after. Unfortunately Clara has fallen off of my priorities, but I plan on amping her gear to get her competitive again.
He's so good for Sushang, keeping things frozen in break.

If there's ever a run that Gepard actually dies, I already consider that a failed run. In any case, utility is a lot more useful.
ive honestly never used his revive. usually when he dies, the rest of the team is already did. i wish his e6 did something more contributing to his kit, but at the same time i'm thankful that an integral part of his gameplay isnt locked behind eidolons.
I got his signature light cone today in the standard warp banner! Baby Brother is now the tankiest character in my account
Guepard was my second 5 star and i love it. It's just impossible to continue to play when a player experiement the guepard shield experience.
I play him with arlan, and now jin yuang and most importantly in mono ice team with yanquing march 7th for counter and pela for help yanquing to does dammage.
After got him .. Nothing can kill me anymore .
Ngl- this is a mild humble brag but it’s a whirlwind of an adventure for me.
So I managed to pull on the standard banner today and got Geppie and thought that it was pretty cool and checked my characters to level and get some more wishes but he wasn’t there… thought it was a bug and restarted the game twice while looking up his kit on my phone and was kinda ‘eh’d by him because I misunderstood some stuff and it was just mildly upsetting but I was ok. Then I found out it was his lightcone and I was malding. Like- I was pissed
But shunted it on my March 7th and called it a day, went back to my wishes and pulled one last ticket then BOOM GEPPIE…
I decided it was fate and had to build him, so now I’m here.

I got Gepard E2 and don't even have a Welt copy yet. I reeeeally want him all the way to E4 but I'm too poor to be whaling excessively. Still pretty happy and hopefully I can pick up another copy or two within the next couple of patches. ^_^

I am lucky to get Gepard from the standard banner with my 1st 50 pulls and he has helped me stay alive together with natasha. Now I have Bailu after loosing 50-50 on seele banner. The problem I have with him now is that he's too slow and I did not manage to get a speed boot for him . His current speed is only 98 and his defence is 2100+
i pulled gepard on my alt account on the first 10 pull on the beginner banner and i also pulled tingyun on the first 10 pulls on the jing yuan banner, i was so shocked that happened on my alt when my main acc is so unlucky pulling these 2 characters
I pulled Gepard, then his weapon, then his E1.. and I need to see my physiatrist ASAP.
