- The cultivation of mammalian cells in the lab, or tissue culture as it is commonly called, is a critical tool for many scientists. Mammalian cells provide scientists with the means to study biological processes on the cellular level instead of having to work with a whole organism. In addition, mammalian cells can be used as a means to produce vital tools in the lab such as antibodies or viruses.
In this instructional video, we will provide some best practices and advice for those new to tissue culture.

You should show the discarding of wastes in the proper waste bins. And opening and closing of the laboratory. please
Excellent overview! Just started cell culture a year ago, so this makes me feel much more confident in my handling.
Thank you so much for this great video!
My lab does not do a lot of these cleansing steps, like not even wearing labcoats, not flushing the aspirator tube, tons of stuff right in front of the vents, not wiping pipettes with alcohol, etc, is this okay?
Of course its okay... but it's going to increase failure rate through contamination.
What is the purpose of the aspiration tube?
Changing the medium
Avoid breathing
O.k so it wasn't just me... after that statement I couldn't even focus on the rest of the video 😂
