Thanks for testing the minimum voltages as it seems to be an increasing problem that certain imported products are only draining about half of alkaline cells or barely operating at all on NiMH cells. The Fluke is excellent at 0.8V and I try to design my AA/AAA projects to run down to 0.9V per cell if at all possible.
This problem is perhaps exaggerated by the fact that many products now ship to buyers with zinc-based batteries included, which have less capacity and more voltage sag than alkalines; they drop to ~1.3V almost immediately, even with tiny loads. The result is horrible battery life out of the box and frequent battery replacements for the life of the product.
