Blimey that Fluke meter was sheer beauty and pure eye candy! I am sitting here and cannot take my eyes off of that thing; mind you I do adore the look of early 1980s circuitry :-)
I found a complete electronics course book the other day, so I am going to slowly work through it over the next few months. I really need to re-learn and get up to where I was years ago.
I got one on eBay for £25 about 10 years ago and have had trouble-free operation on land and sea since. Army surplus I think. It's nice to see inside it. I won't be opening mine up.
That cost was about the same as mine. Got it back in uni, they are pretty good meters even if a little basic. I still use mine along with my Metrix meter, but unlike the Metrix meter the Fluke has never glitched out & crashed.
I also bought one of these on ebay for £27.+. Great bit of gear. Mine is also ex Military (RAF) and has service stickers showing earliest one to be 29/11/04. Used to be an AVO man until I got this.
Tom Murray You cannot measure caps but you can check that they are working with this bit of gear. Involves charging and discharging the cap on Ohms setting, timing it and refering to a chart in the manual.

It is pretty nice. Still works all these years later as well

I prefer the more practical methods over reading.
I got one on eBay about 10 years ago in Australia and it has an army label on it and works flawlessly.
They do. Pretty much bullet proof
Awesome video, I just picked up a 25 for £26!!
They are nice meters. Not so common on ebay these days which is kind of sad.

OK - Auction sniper has been set. I could do with one of those! Thanks for the teardown.
No probs. It is a nice meter even though it is basic
my main multimeter is a fluke 25 ,there built like a tank ,and will last forever :)
@@gizmo1252000 It very much is, plastic is a little brittal though.

They are a bargin at that price.
I have the same Fluke 25, except mine is yellow. Quick question, is it true RMS?
As far as I know it is.
Can a fluke 25 measure capacitors? and if so what range.

Nope
I did not know that one, sounds a little long winded, but handy to use in a pinch when you don't have your tools with you.
The manual with mine says you can measure the charge time and compare it to the included chart to ESTIMATE cap sizes
"the voltage will be considerably different" .....um....no ...its the same .....not even just close ....exactly the same ..lol
I don't even remember what this is even in context to.
Saya punya fluke 25 warna kuning/ yellow
Ooo nice
AC current :D :D
Yep not common on all meters
