″Pope: The Most Powerful Man in History″-from Glass Entertainment Group and Rearrange TV-is a six-part CNN Original Series that goes inside the Vatican to reveal the true power held by popes throughout the ages. The docuseries explores how 12 apostles became 1.3 billion Catholics today, linking recent news events surrounding the Vatican with their unexpected origins. The premiere episode ″The Rise of the Pope″ examines the origins of the papacy, and how Catholicism, against all odds, spread throughout Europe. Jon Hirsch, Nancy Glass, Randy Counsman, Amy Entelis and Lizzie Fox serve as executive producers (with award-winning Irish actor Liam Neeson as the narrating voice of the series).

Saint Peter being the rock upon which the Church has been built is basically where the Romanists get it wrong!! The Rock upon Whom the church is built is none other than the Lord Jesus Christ according to the Apostle Peter himself (1 Peter 2:7-8). Wake up!!

0:32 The pope is said to be the head of the Catholic Church, which is rather contrary to Who the Bible says the Head of God′s church is, viz. the Lord Jesus Christ Himself (Eph 1:22; 5:23; Col 1:18). Also, Scripture never mentions anyone else, much less a pope, as being the head of the church, let alone Peter being the first pope(?) (The whole concept is unbiblical!)

″Antichrist″ is translated from the combination of two ancient Greek words ἀντί + Χριστός (anti + Christos). In Greek, Χριστός means ″anointed one″ and the word Christ derives from it. ″Ἀντί″ means not only anti in the sense of ″against″ and ″opposite of″, but also ″in place of″, which is exactly what the title ″Vicar of Christ″ means!!

The fact is, Catholicism preaches a false Gospel. And Paul says anyone who preaches a false Gospel, let that person be accursed. Galatians 1:6-9. The Council of Trent Canon 32 States "If any one saith, that the good works of one that is justified are in such manner the gifts of God, as that they are not also the good merits of him that is justified; or, that the said justified, by the good works which he performs through the grace of God and the merit of Jesus Christ, whose living member he is, does not truly merit increase of grace, eternal life, and the attainment of that eternal life, ...and also an increase of glory; let him be anathema." We do not earn grace, we do not earn salvation, we do not merit salvation or grace, we do not deserve grace thus it being grace, and we do not deserve salvation or eternal life. It is a gift. Ephesians 2:8-9 says "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- 9 not by works, so that no one can boast." We can not boast because we do not earn nor deserve eternal life. Catholics can never know if they will go to Heaven because they think they have to do good works to go to Heaven and they think they merit grace and eternal life. But it is a gift of God as Ephesians 2:8-9. We can know we have eternal life. 1 John 5:13. This is the Gospel: The Gospel means the Good news. But before I give the good news I have to tell you the bad news so you appreciate the good news. The bad news is all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23. We know we all sinned and we know what sin is. And the wages of sin is death. Romans 6:23. It’s like a judge paying a criminal that killed people, death for their crime. God is doing the same thing. We deserve death because of our sins. If you ever lied, stolen, hated, committed blasphemy (used God’s name in vain), killed, lusted, had pride in your heart or any other sin in your life you sinned against God and deserve death. But the good news is you can be forgiven by the grace of God. Most people know Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins but they do not know this, and if you can get a grip of this it will change your life forever. The 10 Commandments are called the moral law, you and I broke the law, but Jesus paid the fine. That is why Jesus said “it is finished” right before he died, he was saying paid in full. In court, if someone pays your fine you can leave and it is legal. God can legally take the death sentence off of you all because of what Jesus did on the cross. Then he rose on the third day according to the scriptures ( 1 Corinthians 15:4) and defeated death itself, and if you simply repent and put your trust in Jesus, you have God’s promise and he can not lie, that he will grant you everlasting life. Ask God to change your heart and your desires to love what is right not what is wrong. That’s what it means to be born again. Jesus said unless you are born again you will not see the kingdom of God. John 3:3. When you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior and pass from death to life all because of God’s mercy, it’s a personal miracle that you can be radically changed from loving sin to loving God. God is gracious and he will provide. 2 Chronicles 30:9. Philippians 4:19. Ask and you shall receive. Seek and you shall find. Matthew 7:7. Jesus is calling all to repent. Acts 17:30. Jesus said repent or likewise perish. But God is not willing that any should perish but all come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9. Jesus wants to have a relationship with you. It’s not about religion. All these other gods are fake and Satan distracting you from Jesus. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father but by me.” John 14:6. “God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him, shall not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16. God bless. Repent and put your truth and faith in Jesus Christ. That is the Gospel. Catholics do not believe in being Spiritually born again and God changing your desires renewing your heart to love what is right vs what is wrong. But Jesus said unless a man is born again, he will not see the kingdom of God. John 3:3. So ask God to change you and to convert you to love what is right not wrong. Ask God for the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will convict you of your sins and guide you to all truth. John 16:8, John 16:13. God bless. Repent and trust in Jesus

At the 3:30 mark he states that Christ said, "You are Peter," and then he added, "which meant ROCK," but that's not so. If you look at that statement in Matthew 16:18 you will see it doesn't.
"And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon THIS ROCK I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." Bible Hub has this to help break it down for us, first, regarding the meaning of Peter it has..."4074 Pétros (a masculine noun) - properly, a STONE, OR PEBBLE, such as a SMALL ROCK found along a pathway. 4074 /Pétros ("SMALL STONE") which stands in contrast to 4073 /pétra ("cliff, BOULDER," Abbott-Smith)." Christ is our Petra, our ROCK, that is quite clear, and that's mentioned many times in scripture. So, it's clear that the verse in Matthew 16 was meant to inform us that Christ, our ROCK, the one upon whom the church would be built--not Peter the Pebble. No man has THAT kind of power--only Christ our Savior does!
So, the Papacy had to come up with SOMETHING ELSE to support their first pope being 'Peter,' and found a Peter whom they COULD use which was none other than Simon Magus, the Sorcerer. You'll remember he was the man who wanted to BUY the Holy Spirit from the disciples! Simon Magus, was NOT a convert to Christianity-at all. Oh, he wanted to be, but his attitude was all wrong and the disciples rebuffed him for it. Simon, however, DID position himself to be the first leader of a soon to be gigantic religious framework called the Roman Catholic Church, the first Pope of his day... and THAT is the Peter that the Catholics refer to as their first Pope. For more on that, do see this explanation:
    www.discerningtheworld.com/2017/03/20/simon-magus-apostle-simon-peter/

    • @GwenArlene8181
      @GwenArlene8181 6 дней назад

@@Catticombs yes, it does mean stone, particularly a SMALL stone, like a Pebble often found along a path. Nothing big. Certainly, easy enough to pick up and throw . . . versus 4073 (pétra), a projecting rock, cliff" (S. Zodhiates, Dict). So, we now know that Peter was NOT the ROCK (which was Christ) upon which stood the church. Christ is the CORNERSTONE. Peter, just a Pebble. Certainly not a Pope.

    • @Catticombs
      @Catticombs 6 дней назад

@@GwenArlene8181 Yes, in no way shape or form do I think Peter was a pope, a lot of folks are very gung-ho about that but I do think it is more than reasonable to see this as one of several seeds laid in the Bible that puts the apostles in charge, specifically giving Peter a primacy. Christ often would speak in metaphors. The Keys to the House of David were literally kept on the stone the temple was built in, under a tile in the floor. You are (petros) and on this (petra) I will build my rock completely sounds like a Jesus thing. Yes, he spoke Aramaic but it’s the same etymology for both words in that language. The idea of a key holder furthermore perfectly parallels the idea of a king of said temple, which, if the New Covenant is to reflect the old one is supposed to be found somewhere. Christs “Kingdom” was much more a spiritual concept in the New Testament than the house of David, and king David, Solomon, etc. was - but we see this paralleling everywhere. Mary as the new eve, and new Ark is a perfect example. To continues, the church, and the apostles for that matter, are not just the kingdom, and family of Christ, but the BODY of Christ, and the body cannot function without a head. Very careful wording is chosen all throughout the Bible to allude to specifics, I almost wonder if this is because metaphors are less likely to be lost in translation than literal phrasings sometimes. With the institution the Catholic Church is today it can be hard to see it as the continuation of a long line of families in Christ, but you can undeniably find a history all the way back to Peter of leaders searching for someone else to take up the position needed to head the body, and rule the kingdom. Jesus would not want his brothers and sisters to be so separated by ideas. At the end of the day, he is the head and the king for Catholics. But grounds for this position pertaining to men are found all throughout early church history, and seeds are laid in the Bible. It is a fact that Peter was first among the apostles.

That lack of faith you have explains all of the diabolical heresies you constantly spew towards Christianity. There are countless of Protestants who become Catholic after doing historical research and even well known prominent Protestant figures, yet the complete opposite is also very true; lukewarm Catholic become Protestant because of misinformation and anti-Catholic Propaganda and an intake of twisted history. I would have taken you with a bit more ease had you not stated the Catholic Church is of the enemy. I had no idea prayers, fasting, Scripture, and the Holy Spirit were all of the enemy but apparently, that is what the illegitimate sects think. As previously stated, you guys have become a hotbed and cesspool of heresies. Take your false "care" back to your father Martin Luther. or Satan -whichever you prefer. Your kind has been rejected as illegitimate heretics throughout history (with the hope of one day being saved) and you've no interest in being saved, so I will just pray for you. God bless!

Of course satan doesn't want these poor people to ask God for forgiveness, he wants them to go through man, not Christ are only mediator! God said hey the only way to me is through my son. Of course satan wants them to pray vain repetitious prayers! God said don't do that. of course satan wants these people to call every religious man father and even holy father (God's title)! God said call no man father. Of course satan wants these men to sign an oath of celibacy! God said this is doctrines of demons and to marry one wife. of course satan wants them to "sacrifice" Jesus EVERY SINGLE DAY when God said NO MORE SACRAFICES!!!!! It's clear satan has used this religion founded on men to keep them from God. Who are they really worshipping? PRAY FOR CATHOLICS!

BULL SH1T. We real Christians can back up our claims with historical facts unlike you protestant denominations.
The quotes provided below are historical facts in reference to the early and REAL church which existed prior to Romes adoption of Christianity in 313 A.D.
      Church:
      * "Let no man do anything connected with the Church without the bishop. Let that be deemed a proper Eucharist, which is [administered] either by the bishop, or by one to whom he has entrusted it. Wherever the bishop shall appear, there let the multitude [of the people] also be; even as, wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church.” [St. Ignatius of Antioch - Letter to the Smyrneans 8 (c. A.D. 110)]
      Bishop, Priest & Deacon:
      * “Since, then, I have had the privilege of seeing you, through Damas your most worthy bishop, and through your worthy presbyters Bassus and Apollonius, and through my fellow-servant the deacon Sotio, whose friendship may I ever enjoy, because he is subject to the bishop as to the grace of God, and to the presbytery as to the law of Jesus Christ [St. Ignatius of Antioch- Letter to the Magnesians 2 (c. A.D. 110)].
      Eucharist:
      * “Take note of those who hold heterodox opinions on the grace of Jesus Christ, which have come to us, and see how contrary their opinions are to the mind of God... They abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer because they do not confess that the Eucharist is the flesh of our Savior Jesus Christ, Ash that suffered for our sins and that the Father, in his goodness, raised up again. They who deny the gift of God are perishing in their disputes.” [St. Ignatius of Antioch - Letter to the Smyrnaeans 6-7 (c. A.D. 110)].
      Scripture:
      * “[W]hoever perverts the sayings of the Lord for his own desires, and says that there is neither resurrection nor judgment, is the firstborn of Satan. Let us leave the foolishness and the false teaching of the crowd and turn back to the word that was delivered to us in the beginning.” [St. Polycrap of Smyrna - Letter to the Philippians 7 (c. A.D. 135)].
      Sunday:
      * “But Sunday is the day on which we all hold our common assembly, because it is the first day on which God, having wrought a change in the darkness and matter, made the world; and Jesus Christ our Savior on the same day rose from the dead.” [St. Justin Martyr - First Apology 67 (c. A.D. 151)].
      Actions/Works:
      * “We have learned from the prophets, and we believe it is true, that punishments, and chastisements, and good rewards, are rendered according to the merit of each man's actions. If it is not so, then all things happen by fate, and nothing is in our own power. If it is fated that this man be good, and this other evil, the former is not meritorious nor the latter blameworthy [St. Justin Martyr - First Apology 43 (c. A.D. 151)].
      Apostolic Succession:
      * “It is within the power of all, in every church, who may wish to see the truth, to contemplate clearly the Tradition of the apostles manifested throughout the whole world; and we are in a position to reckon up those who were instituted bishops in the churches by the apostles, and [to demonstrate] the succession of these men to our own times; those who neither taught nor knew anything these [heretics] rave about.” [St. Irenaeus of Lyons - Against Heresies 3:3:1 (c. A.D. 189)]
      Baptism:
      * “The children shall be baptized first. All the children who can answer for themselves, let them answer. If there are any children who cannot answer for themselves, let their parents answer for them, or someone else from their family.” [St. Hippolytus of Rome - Apostolic Tradition 21 (c. A.D. 215)].
      Confession:
      * “After this, one of the bishops present, at the request of all, laying his hand on him who is ordained bishop, shall pray this way: O God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. pour forth the power that is from you, of "the princely Spirit' that you delivered to your beloved Child, Jesus Christ, and that he bestowed on your holy apostles, who established the Church that hallows you everywhere, for the endless glory and praise of your name. Father, "who knows the hearts [of all]” grant this servant, who you have chosen for the episcopate, to feed your holy flock and serve as your high priest blamelessly night and day, and unceasingly turn away wrath from your face and offer to you the gifts of the holy Church. And that by the high priestly Spirit he may have authority "to forgive sins" according to your command.” [St. Hippolytus of Rome - Apostolic Tradition 2-3 (c. A.D. 215)].
      Confirmation:
      * “The bishop will then lay his hand upon them, invoking, "Lord God, you who have made these worthy of the removal of sins through the bath of regeneration, make them worthy to be filled with your Holy Spirit, grant to them your grace, that they might serve you according to your will, for to you is the glory, Father and Son with the Holy Spirit, in the holy Church, now and throughout the ages of the ages. Amen." After this he pours the oil into his hand, and laying his hand on each of their heads, says, "I anoint you with holy oil in God the Father Almighty, and Christ Jesus, and the Holy Spirit." Then, after sealing each of them on the forehead, he shall give them the kiss of peace and say, "The Lord be with you." And the one who has been baptized shall say, "And with your spirit." So shall he do to each one [St. Hippolytus of Rome - Apostolic Tradition 21-22 (c. A.D. 215).
      Peter’s Authority:
      * “The Lord says to Peter: "I say to you,' he says, “that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of hell will not overcome it. And to you I will give the keys of the kingdom of heaven. [Mt 16:18-19]. On him he builds the Church, and commands him to feed the sheep [Jn 21:17], and although he assigns a like power to all the apostles, yet he founded a single chair [cathedra], and he established by his own authority a source and an intrinsic reason for that unity. Indeed the others were also what Peter was [apostles], but a primacy is given to Peter, by which it is made clear that there is one Church and one chair.... If someone does not hold fast to this unity of Peter, can he think that he holds the faith? If he deserts the chair of Peter upon whom the Church was built, can he be confident that he is in the Church?.” [St. Cyprian of Carthage - Unity of the Catholic Church 4; first edition (Treatise 1:4) (A.D. 251)].
These few topics (but a glimpse) were not only discussed but settled BEFORE Rome adopted Christianity (The Catholic Church) and eventually became The Roman Catholic Church as it also adopted its name after 313 A.D.
Is the Catholic Church Jesus’ original church? Yes!
Does this excuse all its mistakes and sins from the record? Of course not! As Christians, we are called to hold the church accountable, not leave it and let evil flourish within it.
This refusal of accountability within every Christian has led to over 40,000 diferente Christian churches and the ignorance which has flourished from it.
“This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church.” Ephesians‬ ‭4:13-15

Excellent and concise documentary, but one must be careful to remember that great breaks in the understanding of the core teachings of Christianity did not blossom at the time of Constantine. By this time, there were powerful political figures pulling in different directions, especially the rise of Arianism ... The splintering within the unity of belief had already been written and seen in some the letters of Paul. A few decades after his decapitation and Peter's crucifixion, and during the later life of St John the Apostle & Evangelist, we learn that there were MANY with extremely varied teachings that were not in harmony with that which had been passed on by the Apostles.
At the turn of the first century, immediately after John the Apostle dies, we read in the letters of one of the great bishop martyrs, St Ignatius of Antioch, on his way to die in the coliseum torn apart by the beasts. He speaks in more than one letter about the importance of unity with the local bishop and for nothing to be done without the bishop's consent, even as he writes to St Polycarp, another bishop and future martyr. Also, his language in elevating and honoring the 'diocese' of Rome is something to take to heart because he was a disciple of St John and St Polycarp a disciple of his.
One erroneous piece of info on the video was that Jesus changed Simon's name to Peter at the Sea of Galilee ... It was not there, although it was in Galilee where there was a temple of Pan - very interesting geography with profound Christian and spiritual implications - a worthy study ...
Regarding this change of name: A CRITICAL piece that many non-catholic Christians miss, and is of EXTREME importance, are the implications of when God changes someone's name - better listen because it has serious implications and signifies a drastic change from that moment on.
Also, one of the most interesting warnings comes from St Peter in one of his letters ...
Most splintering over the centuries within the body of Christian believers has been due to the Book of Apocalypse and to the writings of St Paul.
It was Paul's letter to the Romans that gave rise to Protestantism, yet Peter warned that Paul's writings were difficult to understand and MANY used them for their own destruction and condemnation - people forget to listen attentively and give heed to such a powerful warning ... Sadly, History has the ability to repeat itself because humans today think they are smarter than the prior ones and fail to learn from prior mistakes.

No. the Nicene Creed is a testament that all christians were united in that day. We catholics still use that creed since year 300 up to year 2024:
I believe in One God, the Father Almighty
      Creator of heaven and earth
of all things visible and invisible
I believe in One Lord Jesus Christ
the Only Begotten Son of God
whose born of the Father of all ages
God from God, Light from Light
      True God from True God
Begotten NOT made, consubstantial with the Father
Through Him all things were made
For us men and our salvation He came down from heaven
and by the power of the Holy Spirit was concieved of the Virgin Mary and became Man
For our salvation He was crucified under Pontius Pilate
He suffered, died, and was buried, and arose again on the third day in fulfillment of the Scriptures
He ascended to heaven and is sitting at right hand of the Father
He will come again to judge the living and the dead
And His kingdom will have no end
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the LORD the Giver of life
Who proceeds from the Father and Son
who is together with the Father and Son is worshipped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets
I believe in One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic church
I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins
And I look forward to the ressurection of the dead and the life of the world to come.
      Amen.

*Note: 😃 Actually, it’s one (1) pope and a couple of anti-popes through illegitimate elections. Remember: Jesus promised, “That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” (Matthew 16:18).
“The pope does not get his powers (such as infallibility) from those who elect him; he gets them from his position as bishop of Rome and head of the Church. Our Lord created that position and made it permanent. It is he who gives the powers to the man the cardinals choose.
Suppose there is a mistake? Suppose the cardinals elect someone unworthy? It could happen. Even though the cardinals pray for light and pledge themselves solemnly to choose the worthiest candidate, their choice is still a human one. Christ never guaranteed that the choice would be perfect. But whoever is validly elected succeeds to Peter’s position and receives his authority, which, we have seen, was given permanently to the Church by Christ.
Inquirers sometimes ask, “Have there not been for periods of history two or three popes or claimants to the papacy at the same time, as, for instance, during the great Western Schism from 1378 to 1417? Can we be sure that the right pope emerged after the trouble?” Yes, there were several claimants to the papacy at the same time, but only one pope. (There can be several claimants to the American presidency at once, but only one president at a time.)
All Catholics knew there could be only one pope. The question was which of the claimants was the true pope. News traveled slowly in those days. National groups confused the issue by indulging in propaganda for their own candidate. There was confusion and scandal, but the succession from Peter was never broken.
Because of civil wars in Italy, in 1309 Clement V moved to Avignon in the south of France. The next five popes were French; they lived at Avignon, but they were, of course, bishops of Rome. Pope Gregory XI died in 1378, and the conclave met in Rome to choose his successor. Urban VI, an Italian archbishop, was chosen. Thirteen French cardinals then said the wish of the Roman people to have an Italian pope had influenced the conclave in its choice, so they chose Cardinal Robert, of Geneva, as Clement VII. The Roman cardinals naturally declared this election schismatical, but the rival lines went on for nearly forty years side by side.
Clement VII was an anti-pope (a false claimant to the papacy) from 1378 to 1394. Anti-pope Benedict XIII succeeded him, and France, Lorraine, Scotland (France’s ally), Naples, and Spain declared for Benedict and regarded him as being legitimately chosen. Other countries stood by Urban VI. The confusion was increased when a local council of bishops at Pisa tried to heal the schism in 1409, but only succeeded in producing yet another anti-pope, Alexander V, who lasted for a year and was followed by John XXIII (1410-1415), who is not to be confused with the authentic Pope John XXIII, who reigned from 1958 to 1963. The solution finally came when the anti-pope John XXIII resigned, Benedict XIII was deposed, and Gregory XII, Uban’s third successor, laid down his office for the sake of peace. The Council of Constance then cleared the way for Martin V’s election.
The Western Schism is an indication of the power of Christ in his Church. No merely human institution could have survived such a test of its unity. The foundation of that unity is Peter’s authority vested in the bishop of Rome. Unity survived; its foundation survived.
Doubt about who was the rightful pope during the years of schism does not affect the position of later popes. The papacy is not handed on by one bishop of Rome to another through the laying on of hands, any more than the British prime minister hands on his office to another. As a pope does not receive his office from his predecessor, the identity of that predecessor does not really concern him. A man is pope because the Church recognizes him as bishop of Rome, the successor of Peter.
Once universal agreement was reached after the Western Schism as to whom the Church recognized as bishop of Rome, that person’s position as pope was clear. Who his predecessors were during the period of doubts is of no importance. His position depended on the permanence of the See of Rome, not on the identity of its bishops.”

Catholic doctrine has evolved (rather than being unchanging like Gods word) which is why they have add new doctrines throughout the centuries. The assumption of Mary doctrine (not found in the Bible) was added in 1950. The immaculate conception doctrine (claiming that MARY was born sinless) was added in 1854. The doctrine claiming that the pope is infallible (yes you heard it right sinful man with sinful deceitful desperately wicked hearts claiming to be inerrant) came about in 1874. Also not found anywhere in scripture actually the opposite is found in scripture. Anyone claiming to be without sin is a liar (1 John 1:10) . There is not consensus among Catholics. Don't kid yourself. All this shows is that false doctrine and false teachers abound. The Bible predicts this when it says many will come in my name (Mark 13:6). Catholicism is an apostate abomination and manifests the anti Christ spirit. Any organization that attempts to usurp the seat of Christ and direct praise / worship / reverence to anyone other than Jesus Christ should be marked and avoided. Read John 14:6 - “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” - NOT BY MARY. THIS IS BLASPHEMY
Also don't forget what Jesus said right after Matthew 16:18 in Matthew 16:23 Get behind me Satan! Speaking to Peter (btw church is built on Jesus the rock, not Peter. Jesus is agreeing with what Peter said in the previous verses when he asked Peter who do people say I am, smh) - READ your Bible!!!!- Let's take a look at the passage:
Mat 16:13 Now when Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He was asking His disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?”
Mat 16:14 And they said, “Some say John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah, or one of the other prophets.”
Mat 16:15 He *said to them, “But who do you yourselves say that I am?”
Mat 16:16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Mat 16:17 And Jesus said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.
Mat 16:18 “And I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.
Mat 16:19 “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.”
Mat 16:20 Then He gave the disciples strict orders that they were to tell no one that He was the Christ.
Mat 16:21 From that time Jesus began to point out to His disciples that it was necessary for Him to go to Jerusalem and to suffer many things from the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and to be killed, and to be raised up on the third day.
Mat 16:22 And yet Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “God forbid it, Lord! This shall never happen to You!”
Mat 16:23 But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me; for you are not setting your mind on God’s purposes, but men’s.”

Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church.” Ephesians‬ ‭4:13-15‬

Whether or not Nero was responsible, only God knows. But one thing most historians agree on, concerning the Great Fire of Rome (AD 64), is that those Christians living in the capital of the Roman Empire at the time were blamed [if not scapegoated] by Nero Cæsar!!

We are fed up with the Cardinals, with the Bishops...basically all the clergy that maintain power. We love God, we teach our children that we need Jesus, that he died for us to save us from sin. The Vatican has a very very low amount of focus

The papacy has a lot of power but not from Christ “ The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,” 2 Thessalonians 2:9. The papacy is none other than antichrist who “who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God( the church), showing himself that he is God.” The pope takes on many blasphemous titles such as “ Holy Father” and the “vicar of Christ,” he basically claims divinity which is exactly what was prophesied about antichrist. Rome always has been and always will be an enemy of the true church. Imperial Rome martyred the saints the first few centuries of the church and Papal Rome continued throughout the Middle Ages and the reformation killing millions of Christians who were labeled “heretics.” The Catholic Church is the harlot of revelation 17 who is the city that sits on seven hills and is drunk with the blood of the saints.

Saint Peter being the Rock upon which the church was built, is not but a blatant LIE. How can GOD build his church upon a MAN?? A man whom we saw in the next chapter ask Jesus not to go to JERUSALEM to fulfill his destiny, in which JESUS responded "GET THEE BEHIND ME SATAN". Also, God cannot trust in flesh, when he himself asks you not to trust in flesh.
Also... neither was the church built upon Jesus but its BUILT upon "REVELATION". Jesus clearly said "Flesh and Blood did not REVEAL this unto you" . key word "REVEAL"
Also, PETER never went to ROME, read your BIBLE. The Peter referred to here was Simon who wanted to buy the gift of the Holy Ghost, GO and check it, Jesus even said " Peter will become and old man and walking with cane "

Sadly, in the name of Jesus Christ who they claim to follow but its the furthest thing from the truth...they are followers of Satan...Their sins reach the heavens. God will have vengeance upon them...They have even murdered many millions of true Christian's who want to follow the teachings of Jesus

This is so dumb. Catholicism was illegal in North America for 100s of years. The South American indigenous people are still running their own nations buddy. Why blame everything of the Catholic Church and not the monarchs and nations who actually benefitted from that? You think if the CC did not exist the powerful nations would have just left you alone? You would have ended up like the US with next to zero population of natives or eveb better try to get the secular france from exploiting those poor Africans. Or Get a brain maybe.

"It (roman church) is an unchristian religion, in the first place!' the prince resumed in great agitation and with excessive sharpness. 'That's in the first place, and secondly, Roman Catholicism is even worse than atheism! Atheism merely preaches a negation, but Catholicism goes further: it preaches a distorted Christ, a Christ calumniated and defamed by it, the opposite of Christ! It preaches Antichrist - I swear it does, I assure you it does! This is my personal opinion, an opinion I've held for a long time, and it has worried me a lot myself. ... Roman Catholicism believes that the Church cannot exist on earth without universal temporal power, and cries: Non possumus! In my opinion, Roman Catholicism isn't even a religion, but most decidedly a continuation of the Holy Roman Empire, and everything in it is subordinated to that idea, beginning with faith. The Pope seized the earth, an earthly throne and took up the sword; and since then everything has gone on in the same way, except that they've added lies, fraud, deceit, fanaticism, superstition wickedness. They have trifled with the most sacred, truthful, innocent, ardent feelings of the people, have bartered it all for money, for base temporal power. And isn't this the teaching of Antichrist? Isn't it clear that atheism had to come from them? And it did come from them, from Roman Catholicism itself! Atheism originated first of all with them: how could they believe in themselves? It gained ground because of abhorrence of them; it is the child of their lies and their spiritual impotence! Atheism! In our country it is only the upper classes who do not believe, as Mr Radomsky so splendidly put it the other day, for they have lost their roots. But in Europe vast numbers of the common people are beginning to lose their faith - at first from darkness and lies, and now from fanaticism, hatred of the Church and Christianity!”
