When sitting in front of a screen, the average person blinks about 15 to 20 times per minute. However, this number can decrease significantly to around 5 to 10 times per minute when focusing intently on the screen. The reduced blinking rate is often associated with screen use, as people tend to concentrate on the display, leading to a decreased frequency of natural blinking. This can result in dry eyes or eye discomfort, and it is recommended to take regular breaks and consciously blink to keep the eyes lubricated and prevent eye strain.
