She did tho? Not sure what the problem is, she literally did💀 Shes a teenager competing with kids. She certainly has the mindset of a kid tho bc she HAD to have it. age in the theatre industry doesn’t matter. if you’re perfect for the role then you are it’s a matter of chance
@@mermaidlagoon That isn't the point. The auditioning for a role is like a competition where only one can win. She was a teen competing with kids, it was obvious that she would have won and she knew it. But it isn't fair towards those kids who auditioned thinking they had a chanche but they never really had it, because someone who is three years older is more experienced and had a much higher chanche of getting the part
@@istilldontknowmyname7324 You guys are thinking that this is some 25 year old woman, she was a child.
The guy who played ten year old Phillip in Hamilton 🥱✋
Hm... I don't think that was the right thing to do. As someone older you are a lot more experienced than the rest of the people who tried, and very likely stole a future from someone else. That just goes against my moral compass personally.
!!!!
Precisely thank you. I dont get why everyone is supporting her in the comments. She did those kids so wrong. It wasn't a fair competition between them, it was obvious that someone who is three years more experienced would have won. It's just wrong
They went for a 12 year old because they want someone who looks young enough, she looked young enough so it's fine, they weren't specifically looking for young talent just young faces
@@marshmallow7640 she had to tape herself etc. It shows she knew she didn't look young enough without alterations
@Sam ²²² who do you think will do better someone with 3 more years than you of experience? Or you
Yes, maybe if she competed with 10 other fifteen year old girls disguising as 12 year old children she wouldn't have got the role? But she was the only one lying about her age and got an advantage because of that. I don't think it was fair for the 12 year olds...
This is so cool
Never forget kids. Liars and cheaters get ahead in life.
Everytime someone tells you that cheaters never win, they are directly lying to you.
my adhd could never. I love stories like these but it's very rare in the real world to have that "I'm gonna go against the norm" thing and have it go your way without repercussions. So happy it worked for you though, you're absolutely glowing and hope you acieve happiness as you deserve it❤
Same
Hollywood New York need to cast you you’re talented
‘Youre 15 you cant play a 12 year old’
Walker Scobell after starring in PJO:👁️👄👁️
Wait you were on Broadway? What show was it, and what role did you get?
She was in the original cast of Billy Elliot and she played one of the ballet girls
she was in bunkd and she was hazel
@@hadleybastian9995 Bunk’d was on Disney Channel not Broadway
had a similar thing happen but much less seriously. also was my introduction to theatre, the local, small, theatre was putting on Willy Wonka and the chlcolate factory, youngest they'd go was 6 or 7 and i was 5,but i had always looked older than i was, so they brought me in for auditions, and i got a part of candy store kid/oompa loompa/chef. Many, many years later and I've come a loooong way!
Everyone: talking abt how directors not caring abt your age
Me: being obsessed with the mirror from Harry Potter in the backroad 🤩
Congrats by the wayyyy 🎉🥳
Same
It would have been different if you were 20 but only 3 years older isnt terrible. Glad the director had some sense.
Finallllyyyyyyy❤❤❤….you got my anxiety levels up…but gave a happyy endingggggggg❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂
That’s fantastic! When you’re right you’re right, I’m glad the director knew what he had and wasn’t hung up on age. Congrats!
Congrats my dude, daaaamb!!!!
HELL YEAH PROUD OF YOU ❤️🖤
That's awesome tho ngl
Also she didn’t “steal” the role the Director still let her have he part so she didn’t really steal it. So move on with your day please :D
Yeah, people think its more like sports and the 3 years gives you a bigger advantage. Ans everyone is an age groups for fairness. When in things like Broadway they want the person who can look the part and do it the best. This is a show people are paying for. Theu want the person who fits the looks of the role ans is the best at it.

I wish I could find this looping version where somebody has sung each of the segments individually so that us non-musical people can still try it😂
You sound amazing by the way!
And I'm super happy that you got the Broadway part!
The singer of this recording is actually Sarah Cothran. There's another very famous version, same harmonies, featuring Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds.
I haven't the slightest idea who she is or what she's played in... but good for her! Hope she's had a wonderful career and many more years to come. 🙂
hazel from bunk’ed, before she was on disney tho she was on broadway
That’s amazing
But
I’ve heard this song only a few times and I’m already fed up of it
It’s because they keep repeating the same verse, the full song is MIKA’s Grace Kelly and it’s way better.
it gives me bad feelings something bad is gonna happen to the story teller.
Your personality shines through in every video.
I did theater and I was a 24 year old playing a 15 year old. I looked 15. 😂
Sometimes the age limitation is purely a financial problem or could he in regards to safety laws regarding hours worked.
I have seen this for hiring younger people but not so much for an older person playing younger.
Congratulations though!
This deserves way more views.
And that's y he's the director and not them. He was clearly focused on results and not cookie cutter molds (they don't seem to realize they only serve as a guide )
Haha I went on an audition to host a teen music show... you had to be a teenager. I auditioned and told them I was 17. Dressed younger acted younger. Got the role. Was in hair and Makeup one day chatting to to the hair lady, and I can't remember what we were talking about but I said my age accidentally... I was 21 🤣🤣 by the time they found out we'd already filmed over half the in-studio footage. They weren't mad (at least to my face) and we went on to make another show with me as a presenter after that... Hey show business is tough and you need to do some whack sh!t sometimes to get a job 🤣🤣
she was in billy elliot btw!!!
exactly what role was that? And did you have any photos or videos from your time there? please do upload those if so
I think she was in Billy Elliot, but I don't know who she played
I think she was one of the ballet girls in Billy Elliot.
yes! she was the ballet girl who was told she looked like a s****** starfish which is how her fans became known as Starfish. There's a video somewhere in which she talks about how she didn't know the show but the person at the audition asked her to try something out and she had lots of personality and that helped her stand out
bro why are you questioning her like she got canceled 💀 calm down
All you need to do is watch it.
Fanboy moment- this just adds to why if my WoW main was ever live action I'd want you to be cast as her.
You’re so pretty!
So
You conned a bunch of kids out of their chance because you were obviously better because you were 15-
THIS
Thank you- honestly this is fucked up. Those poor kids.
i feel bad lol
Well, the musical was billy elliot- in which the main character is 11, and has been FREQUENTLY played by 12-16 year olds,,,, so ,,, like,,, she didn’t invent this, and she isn’t a demon for doing this. its billy fucking elliot.
Youre also implying that 12 year old actors are always worse than older actors lmao
I was so glad to hear it worked out 😂 it’s such a shame when the cutoff is so strict or so close, sometimes they just need to see you!
Living vicariously through you. That was my dream. Broadway. Didn’t work out for me but I’m super excited for you!
Did anyone else watched 3 Times:
1. Can't really get whats going on, Music annoys and it's so fast.
2. Let's concentrate on the text, stop the vid to read it. Such a nice story.
3. Let's listen to Song, it's Nice.
I'm pretty sure it's Cimorelli singing. I don't think it's their song or anything, but it sounds like them
@@melanithebooknerd The singer is actually Sarah Cothran.

Even so, it’s up to the directors and if she did it better than all the twelve year olds there then Owell, how I understand it there was no limit to the number of people who could audition so she didn’t take a spot from someone, she just got lucky and they were unlucky but they all had the same chance
She did tho? Not sure what the problem is, she literally did💀 Shes a teenager competing with kids. She certainly has the mindset of a kid tho bc she HAD to have it. Maybe, just maybe, some requirements have a reason to be set? And if you dont fit them you should just turn around and be done with it? Especially with something like age.
@@heather6154if the requirement was set in stone the director could’ve kicked her out whenever he found out but he didn’t!! She put in the effort and they accepted it. She had to try.
Taking a role from a literal child who wouldve had less opportunity is crazy
Ok i feel a bit bleh for saying, but does anyone else feel like this is a bit of a shitty move?
Ofc its great that you kickstarted your career like this, but could you not wait for a role that was for your age range? For kids, 3 years is a lot of time- 3 years extra experience and practice than many of them makes a huge difference. How many kids (who actually met the criteria) missed out on certain opportunities because of this?
i mean kinda ruining the dreams of the 12 year olds that auditioned, idk how they supposed to get it over a 15 year old. but k good job ig?
You're joking right? "Ruining"
😬🤣
Great job reaching your goal of acting on Broadway and connecting with a role so well!
Wow! What show? (Also that’s a cool story) 💙
Billie Elliot!
How is it cool??
much older child took away some poor 12 year olds part.
auditions mean its anyone's game. taking away a part would mean actively sabotaging someone's audition so you get picked,.
@@Kytti-not-kitty there’s a reason it’s 12 year olds only. this 15 year old had an advantage. are you dumb
