IT WORKED! I first tried the WB40, Baking soda and Dawn but it made the stain worse. Then I saw your video just using Dawn and letting it set then throwing it in with the wash and all the stains were GONE. Considered me a subscribed viewer.

WD 40, baking soda and Dawn dishsoap did work for me by removing the stain but it does discolor the fabric where the stain was originally at that was the only down side

I have had problems with WD-40 on fabrics. I later found that it is oil based. I recently used Baking Soda on a stain on our carpet. It lightened the color. Now, I only use Baking Soda with Vinegar and Dawn to make a paste that cleans stubborn scum from my bathtub. I have had 40 years with a Mechanic, and 3 kids. I've learned the hard way tons of times. Lol!

I just tried this method on a skirt that I JUST wore for the first time last night and splashed food on while cooking. I was soooo sad. This morning I put globs of dawn on all of the splash spots and kinda rubbed it in a bit, then I put it in the wash. I should note that last night I basically soaked the entire skirt in water and it didn't help at all.
When I took my skirt out of the washer I couldn't even find where the stains originally were. It's now almost completely dry (I line dried it) and it looks good as new again! THANK YOU!

I used a clean toothbrush and dawn. I applied dawn to the toothbrush, just like toothpaste, and scrubbed the affected area, left overnight, and washed the next day with warm water. After taking them out of the dryer and realizing there were grease stain on it I used this method. I did let the dawn soap sit in overnight because I was afraid the stain may have set. When I was ready to wash I rubbed in a little more Dawn and washed it with Tide+oxi. And the stains are gone! Thanks for this tip!

Dawn is a miracle soap formula! From oil-coated wild life to getting engine oil and grease out of clothes, it's the best. If you need to strip wax off your floors or car, it will do that, too, but dilute it well or you'll be rinsing all day!

I used Dawn Platinum because that's what I had here at the house. I think that regular Dawn will also work.
I had several shirts and a hoodie that had spots from olive oil. All items had been previously washed and all but the hoodie had been previously dried in the clothes dryer. This is important to note because drying in a dryer can set the stain and make it more difficult to remove.
The oil spots on all pieces of clothing disappeared using this method.
If you have oil spots that have been there after several washing/dryer cycles and this doesn't work you might want to try the method that also uses WD-40 and baking soda in addition to Dawn. The WD-40 helps to re-solubilize the dried oil. I've heard that this method can take several attempts and that the WD-40 just makes the spot bigger. I would try just going with Dawn for the first go round, especially if the stain is new.

I changed the brakes on my car yesterday. Don't know how I got the stains but they were there. I used palmolive years ago. Palmolive worked. I want these stains out. It's soaking and will wash them in about an hour. I came the oil spill in the ocean years ago with dawn being used to wash the birds. I'm going to try it and let you know.
