That is sad. He was one of the greatest QBs who have ever done it, and the man he played, and unfortunately lost against tonight, Tom Brady, who is possibly the greatest QB to ever play the game. Sadly, the fans could not be in full attendance to send off Brees for all he has done for the New Orleans Saints, all its memories for a generation of play.

When Brady saw Bress the way he started removing his helmet to hug him and talk to him face to face, that was respect. And in the end, the moment Bress turns to look at his stadium one last time, that was sad, yet very telling. No shame, he’s a top 5 QB ever.

That last second...him just turning back around and seeing the stadium one last time...god, that almost made me cry. One of the greatest to ever suit up. And a truly amazing man, at least from every interview I’ve ever heard, every off-the-field moment that’s made the news, and everyone who has ever talked about knowing him. I grew up watching this man play and it’s gonna be so strange to continue watching without him in the league. To an extent that I don’t even think Manning’s last game affected me (although I’m sure others would disagree). Happy retirement, Drew.

No. Belichick still had a decent record for having a team you can't name any of the players on besides edelman. Seriously, most people can't name anyone on the current patriots, it's amazing they had the record they did this year. Grew up watching Brady my whole life, always will have so much respect for Brees, really got emotional seeing him leave the field. Tough guy was playing with broken ribs and everything, doing it all for his last season trying to get that super bowl. Even as a Brady fan hurts to see him leave.

My mother is currently in denial over Brees retiring, but Drew Brees is one of the greatest to ever play the game, he’s had an amazing career, and he almost single-handedly kept the Saints in New Orleans. Thank you, Drew.

Congrats to the Bucs and to Brees on an incredible career if, indeed, that was the end for him. I was able to hang out with him for a couple hours one afternoon, wow... nearly 20 years ago now, at a promotional event in Lafayette, Indiana near Purdue. Just a great guy and easily one of the best the NFL's ever going to see.
The amount of respect between them is tremendous, they took off the helmets to chat up; not just the usual good game.

Damn this is just soul crushing. I got into football around the time Favre retired so it didn’t mean much but seeing both Manning’s and now Brees retire it’s the end of such a good era. When Tom retires it’ll be a knockout. I’m a bears fan so I have to live off of other team’s success’, and for much of the time I’ve reveled in watching these HOF QBs shine.
