Just brilliant! So good to hear Al live in concert playing all those great songs... And he is so clear & confident in his report with the audience...And always so witty & funny. Loved his remark about " more like tin foil than heavy metal " Rock on Al! Time to put out a new album of new or older songs that have not been released before... The 20's need you... Respect!
This has made my day, thanks for the upload! I've let the folk at the Al Stewart facebook group know about it too; they'll no doubt be as thrilled as I am!
Wow! My second CFF. I wrote to the council organisers thanking them for the awesome 1988 festival... And suggested they get Al Stewart -which they wonderfully did :) we spent the whole afternoon on our blanket, as you did in those easy to move around in days. Thank you so much for posting this concert. Never thought I'd be able to hear this again. Didn't know the BBC recorded them back then. So cool :)
Ditto. This was my 3rd CFF. Unbelievably, my fiancé drove from St Mawgan and somehow found me asleep in my one man tent😂. Al was amazing, I bought his Best of Album at the festival. Just listened to it (transferred to mp3 almost 20 years ago) in the bath. I was trying to find out what year he played and found this. Fantastic.
As you now know from my post on the Davy Spillane gig at the same festival, I was there! A very special day that was. Both shows have given me a very strange feeling of melancholia - to hear something from a long time ago you assumed you'd never hear again. Greatly appreciated that you posted these.
Absolutely brilliant Al, great band as well
Thank you Al for sharing!
Seen him twice live, my favourite artist i listen to him nearly everyday.
Opening with Antarctica, gotta love it!
