    In 1845, Emilie Sagee took a job at the Neuwelcke boarding school. It was her 18th teaching position in 16 years. The girls of the school would soon find out why, when on numerous occasions, Emilie was seen wandering the halls or sitting at the front of class, even when she was known to be elsewhere,

    That's probably the most entertaining description of a class of 18th century schoolgirls making up a ghost story to mess with their teacher that I've ever heard.

      @@TheDolphinTuna No, she moved to different towns, some pretty far apart. There is no internet or television to spread it. Only newspapers, and it didn't make national news. Why the heck would *all* the students and *all* the teachers make up the exact same story? Especially if she was such a great teacher.

    how can it be just an imagination if lots of people see it at the same time? how can it be a case of mental illness or psychological problem if the person is not the one seeing his/her double and is not even aware that he/she have a double?
    my friends said they saw me in the hotel they are working in, walking behind the manager and riding the elevator with them when i was at home and sleeping. the maid told me she saw me go to the toilet one night and never came out and when she checked upstairs, i was fast asleep in my bedroom.

    The brief discussion on the projection of the other as undesirable or desirable, and how it all wraps around the concept of self-identity was the most profound of what I consider to be a very entertaining video on dopplegangers. Keep it up.

    I had OBEs when I was a child. I know that many others have had similar experiences but have not publicised them. I couldn't say whether my companions saw 2 of me or not, but "I" could see my body at a distance still conversing with my friends, when what was "me" was some metres away. As soon as I realised "oh, that's happened again" I snapped back to the one body consciousness. This had absolutely nothing to do with any stress, fear, anxiety or psychological distress whatsoever. I really must emphasise this, as this theory gets thrown out so often as if it clears everything up. It doesn't! Yes, that dissociation can and does occur at stressful moments (I used to think that if I was ever in a rape situation, I'd dissociate to remove myself from the horror for self-protection), but it also occurs at very mundane and ordinary moments. I've experienced both multiple times throughout my life, and have read of plenty of other cases in many different circumstances.
    Many NDEers say that their "self" left their bodies before they could experience the pain and trauma of their deaths, this fits in with what I know. We have these other levels of our bodies, etheric, astral etc. The doppelganger phenomenon is related to this somehow. This will be a new science (though known to the ancients), the more we discuss these things and bring them out into the open, the sooner it will happen.

    It makes you think. It's like the ghost twin wanted to be there for her, but she caused more trouble than help because their way of existing couldn't be accepted. Scary and sad part is, that the "owner" of the shadow doesn't control it. I think that this story has a message that these two worlds weren't ready to exist visibly in the same reality, but makes you wonder if spirits actually work here all the time and are waiting for the time when they can co-operate with people more recognizably in daylight.

    • @sonias9722
      @sonias9722 4 года назад +1

      This is a good ghost story in that it's not so over the top. We all have had deja vu, psychic dreams or feelings come true and such small phenomena sometimes. It's not hard to imagine traveling in your thoughts somewhere where we would rather be, and thus being in two different places at once - one place physically and another mentally. Being there as an energy being or a ghost is, in a way, only a little bit stranger than what we already do. But it would freak us all out if we actually saw it happen all of a sudden.

    When we cannot explain an incident, which was seen in a Latvian school by as many as 42 students and also the faculty there, the easiest way to save our face is to deny even the existence of the person in question. Nice policy, Dark Histories. The problem is Emilie Sagee incident was too real to be ignored.

    One of the other best reports, though short, of doppelgangers is by Jane Roberts, author of the Seth books. One evening, she and her husband Robert walked into a restaurant. To their shock, they saw a couple who looked identical to them already seated in there, looking a little flat, depressed (I don't recall exactly how she described them), and they walked out again, not quite knowing how to deal with this. Seth does give some explanation, which I also don't remember clearly. (I've read so many books...)
    Those of us who have had OBEs or NDEs know our self is not our body, but the intricacies of how our consciousness relates to our bodies is not simple. The power of this story is that it was witnessed by so many others. Fascinating story. I can't wait for the time when this sort of event gets proper scientific examination.
    May I say again, as I keep doing because it occurs so often: "phenomenon" is the singular, one event, "phenomena" is the plural, multiple events. Language matters, truly, deeply. Besides, it's lovely, all the interesting derivations and histories of words and language. History of humanity, and storytelling, since we could first speak.
