@@Urmyseoulmate yes, it always good to sand and prep the cups before putting anything as it gives the glue and vinyl something rough to grip on to! Non hot fix stones are best for tumblers. They have no glue on the back, you have to apply them to glue. Hotfix stones have a heat activated adhesive which is good for fabric projects
Just started my 1st tumbler. I have some questions. How much of the gemtac should be applied? A thin line, smush it around? Also, how long will it take to dry? How do i clean off stray glue and wax on the gems? Whats the best way to clean these tumblers?
I apply a bit and just spread it around to get a thin layer where i am working. enough for the stone to stick but not too much where it will spill over the top of the stone and be visible. I let them dry for a few days usually just to be safe. These are handwash only and don't use any abrasive scrubbers.

I dont have a video where I show sanding but you can take just a sheet of sandpaper and rub it on the cup. you just want to remove the glossy outer coating on the cup and rough it up so the glue has something stronger to bond too. I can make sure to include this step in one of my future videos!

How many rows down do you do before completing the 1st row all the way around? I have done the honeycomb method and I have so many spaces still! I do one whole row around and then the second row in the “window” of the 1st row. What am I doing wrong?
Typically I do the full row and then move on to the next full row and so on. What type of tumbler are you using? If it is not perfectly straight and has a slight taper, there will be windows you need to fill with small fillers

Do you know if E6000 would work in that little precision bottle. I'm doing my first cup and I'm using a syringe with the e6000 but I don't really like using it.
I am not sure honestly since E6000 is pretty thick it may be hard to squeeze. I havent tried this personally as E6000 is toxic and I dont want to use it on tumblers

a lot of people prefer glass stones since some say they are better quality but I personally have sue both and as long as you are ordering from good suppliers they will all be quality and both be great!
I dont get very much spray inside my cups from the angle i spray it at. If you do get spray in the cups though you can use acetone or alcohol to clean it up before moving on.

liquid fusion is super clear where as gemtac is white and dries clear but if you do a thick layer it may be cloudy. i also like how liquid the liquid fusion is and it has a really nice hold!

I place them as close as I can so I want them touching! My preference is to have as little background cup color showing as possible so I get them as close as possible!

@@jameyjones5042 You can use hotfix but the main problem with that is you are using glue and overtime the glue can eat away at the glue backing on the stones and cause them to fall off. So I personally don't do it or recommend them but I have seen people have success with them. And no worries about the questions im here to help!

Yes my process is the same for stainless, acrylic, and plastic! I sand them all. I will spray paint only if i want a different base color but it is not required for me personally. Like i just did a silver one straight onto the clear acrylic since clear and silver are close. But im working on a leopard and base coated a tan/brown so it matched the stones better which is my preference but it is not required!

IS IT OKAY TO USE E6000 OR B7000 OR SOMETHING SIMILAR TO THESE, MY PLACE DOESNT HAVE THOSE GEMTAC OR FISION
I do not recommend E6000 or anything since it is toxic when dry still. I wouldl recommend ordering gem tac or liquid fusion on amazon

I used a brown mixed sizes stones and black mixed sizes stones! Iv bought several packs of stones probably around $40 worth

I haven't had that happen to me personally since I've used lids for all of my cups but I have thought about that and plan on testing it out!

You will want to sand your cup to rough up the surface but other than that you should be good to go!

Morgan, the back of the pink tool is made to be filled with wax too, it's meant for you to be able to pick up multiple rhinestones at a time. 😉🙂

@@peppergarcia5679 Never a bother! She has so many on the way there are just some big shipping delays due to COVID but they are on the way!! I highly suggest getting them when they are in stock! I just posted a video in the facebook group of this mug finished!
How do you keep track of how many stones are on a cup? Surely you don’t count as you place them all. 😂
No! lol When i buy a bag it usually contains 1440 stones so i just see how many bags i used and get a rough estimate at the amount used!
