This a step-by-step video showing exactly how to perform the behind the back spin with a sword, a move that involves both the backward and forward spins. It's simple but looks very cool. For both right and left handed people.

Hi cat
Too late! Lmao jk i got a real sword and have been practicing for a minute now lol
ShinobiCAT you seem pretty fun 😆 Maybe u could teach me this amazing spins. Swordsmanship has always amazed me.
Oops! I wasn't supposed to use my shiny new Jian? :D
Good stuff. Thanks :)
Where did u go
Now I shall dominate the school hallways
Relatable🤣
You should be dominated in jail with a comment like that.
@@thomasgomes5639 that was a kid you said that too, not everything you see on the internet is real gramps 😊😂
I’m here cuz I’ve been playing with a good size pole as a sword
Same lmfao

I didn't really expect much when I clicked on your video, but as I kept watching I started to realize that your sword skills were pretty good. Then I realized that your communication skills were even better than your sword skills. I'm not a very coordinated guy, so the fact that I can now twirl a sword like a pro really says something your instruction. KEEP IT UP!
I have watched countless hours of tutorial videos on handling a sword. I started with yours and I always come back to yours. You have a very efficient and explanatory way of teaching. I really appreciate that.
Nica 48 Thank you, that means so much to me!
Instructions unclear
I chopped my arm off with an axe
now i know this video is old but my old sensei recommended me to learn some form of sword fighting as i excelled in philipino-kali stick fighting (also called escrima) so i took up kendo classes which are sword fighting techniques using a similar style of kali sticks rather than swords. i recently bought a lightsaber and i am now watching all of your videos to learn tricks to go along with my moves. You seem to be the only person that i can actually follow as everyone else's are complicated. Thanks.
I like your shirt 3000
Which one
real nice, out of all the tutorials I've seen on sword spins yours was simplified & well explain, good stuff, keep em coming
Thank you very much.
From a firearm instructor to the wonderful sword instructor in this video. Wonderfully well done. Please continue publishing your teaching videos. I see the same passion and desire to teach people properly with a sword as I am with teaching people how to effectively and safely use firearms.
(*Bows head out of respect.*)
She's a ninja😱😱😱😱😱
Thank you very much for version for left handed people! :) Great vids about swords and great tutorials!
Thanks a lot for those videos. Needed to expand my tennis racket moves, and managed to get those spins fairly quickly with your tutorials :)
Saw it, loved it, subscribed. Excellent slow, and clear, tutorial. Keep up the good work!
You are the answer to my praying. I COULD NOT FIND ANY VIDEOS OTHER THAN THIS THAT ACTUALLY HELP YOU DO DIS. I WAS STRUGGLING SO MUCH THANK YOU!
exactly
Thanks for the video. Its really cool and helpful.
I like how she hides her face. It brings some mystery. I think she's a master of such a level where you have serious enemies all over the world. So it's done in order to protect yourself, because she's revealing the secret ancient techniques no one except for the chosen legends should be learning... Now we know, sansei!
...or they just dont want to put their face... :/
@@wetwaterbucket3390way to ruin the fun :/
It truly a mystery of who this spinning sansei could be.
Some people value privacy, like me.
great explanation and demonstration, thank you
Just got my disney exclusive yoda saber today and wanted to do some of these neet tricks. My right index knuckle is getting a little red from the friction but it's okay because it's cold in Portugal. Thank you so much ^^
This help me a lot !! Thank you very much
Great tutorial, thanks 🙏
Very beginner-friendly instructions, and you obviously know your stuff really well. It also helps that your voice just mesmerizes (though this might be just me xD). Definitely subscribing!
HellRyden Thanks for the compliments :)
Your videos are amazing! Thank you! :)
Thanks for the support!
You're a good teacher. I'll be sure to recommend your videos to my oriental dance students.
Don't you dare! And oriental is a racist term.
wow, you're really good at these tricks! I've subscribed to you, keep up the good work! :)
Thank you for subscribing!
I really want to learn this
It would be cool to do but....
*I only have a real sword. I'm not trying die today*
@Jeffrey Pauley almost no real sword should weigh that much lol. Longswords only way between 2 - 3 lbs.
@Jeffrey Pauley I bet it isn't a real sword. Its gotta be decorative or for cosplay or some shit. 8 lbs doesn't sound like a lot but theres a reason even longswords are generally only 3 lbs max. I would maybe believe you if it was like a scottish claymore with a big shilt, and maybe some sort of big decorative pommel
Exactly
Found this very useful! Ty
Very nice!
great video! could you perhaps do a tutorial on how to gracefuly and with fluidity spin a sword behind ones back from left hand to right into an attacking pose without hamstringing yourself or lobbing ones own legs off entirely??
I feel like a main character now xd
your videos are sick thank you!!!
Students, please do the spin with a wooden bokken, then practice with an unsharpened blade only.
Student of Miyamoto Masashi.
@Not Hyperbole - Perhaps you might actually start by spelling his name correctly? It's Musashi. 😀
So cool !!!
Hi.
Just pointing out a detail that I missed in all the others vids about sword flourishing/sword spinning: you actually loosen your grip on the sword and make it pivot into the ring formed by your index and thumb, if I have seen correctly. Without that passage, the wrist itself is not enough to allow a complete sword spinning (and that was my major mistake, which got me someway hurt).
Let me know if I'm wrong about that.
Idk why im watching this but I love it.
Just watched the live action Mulan again, just thought i’d learn to do this.
хорошо объясняешь!
hey,I love your videos. could you do a complied tutorial of shinobu kocho's sword spin?
Your spins are beautiful
Fabio Cisotto Sorry for the late reply! I got my sword online from Party City. You can do a quick search for "sword" in their search bar and many options will come up. Mine is plastic but very realistic and I got it for just $10. They have other types than just Japanese swords, as well, like medieval and pirate.
Awesome!
Thank u so much
Will you make more tutorials? I love the videos
I definitly will make more tutorials. Thanks for the support!
ShinobiCAT could you please show how to do the backwards spin sideways I still do not understand how to do it please
Cool shirt 👍🏻
I got a bokken for Xmas so that's why I'm here
I just realized that I’ve been able to do the backwards spin for awhile but I can’t spin it forward
Thank u sister
Ty sis!!!!
I really enjoyed your videos is the best among all I tried. ShinobiCat, I have been training with a bokken, but some hand and arm muscles hurt, because of the weight of the bokken (wood). Do you know any sales site (eBay, etc.) where i can find a sword like yours? If the answer is yes, tell me the model of your or the link for purchase. Thank you for your videos!
Great explanation. I like it.
Ur amazing
Am I the only one doing whith a shovel?
Thanks for the vid, now i just need a sword, I've bren practicing with a damn plastic stick thats used to close the persian things on a window
To do this with a longsword the sword has to be thrown and caught little as it’s centre of balance is further up.
Its*
That's used in the Russian shaska sword, check those out
Thanks ShinobiCAT! !
very impressive 😊😘😘
Thanks for this it really helped ik I’m like four years late but tah 👍🏻😂
This spin is fucking cool actually
Why did you stop making videos
I'm not able to do can you please show it more clear
can you do the same with your left hand? İ started working for
I somehow did it by just looking at the first clip alone lmaoo.
Omg so cool
but the real question is
can you do the cloud strife spin?
Very good video, I need to buy a plastic sword
Nice to
ur very good girl. the force is strong in u
Hey, thanks! That means a lot :)
udis udist Wow, I didn't even realize you were the same person that posted that lasagna comment lol
i have the same katana :D
Subscribing right now
Left handed: is the nuckle of my index finger supposed to hurt after doing the backward spin in the horizontal position? Is the stick/sword touching the nuckle? Thank you
u should stretch ur hands and wrists before
Been practising sword spins and ended up stabbing myself in the leg. But damn this sword spin is cool.
Not gonna lie, this is the most basic move ever, but it is a good tutorial, it's just an easy thing to do
This is easy!? 😲
@@jan___e8315 yes, very, it's so easy I self taught myself and then went to mock tutorials

PLZ MAKE A VIDEO TUTORIAL ON TWIRL BEHIND THE BACK ...
I used to have a shirt like yours
I think they meant a backwards spin not a behind the back spin
I cant spin it infront of me like that, I can only do it on my sides
Wow your amazing there are not a lot of girls that can do what u do
Thank you :) But I think it's not that girls can't do it, they just don't have the interest.
You have a cat and a good knowledge about swords!
Sub!
IMPERATOR Thanks!!
+Fenris Venti OK lets see your video I like to laugh .
Oh, I could make a video. Do you want all 12 seitei forms of muso shindin ryu or would you prefer certain forms?
Yoooo i wanna do that
Genji?
I can't get my arm to stay still during the reverse spin, any tips?
training until u can.... thats it
I searched this and watched this, because I'm planning to buy Shinobu Kocho's Nichirin blade, omg thanks for thisss
yesss i love shinobu sm, also nobara pfp
im buying the zenitsu nichirin blade one
I just got mine 😳
@@vianne_s71 I just got mine too
those thing are heavy!! its really pain to do tricks with them
We should duel. I use a shamshir and a persian short sword
I really can't spin the sword when my hand is sideways. Normally you just squeeze the hilt with your thumb and the base of the index finger and let it spin through. It's a totally different trick for a sideways spin since you need to spin it around your whole palm.
i hope that you listen to girl in red
This is even more impressive with an axe. Axes are cheaper and more readily available at the local hardware store... and there are no laws against assault axes.
woowoo
How many days this this take or did you just change your shirt alot lol great tips tho keep it up
Tony Pence I'm a quick change artist. Just kidding, it took more than one day to film this.
👍
Superb vidz,do you have a facebook page?:p
Darthmaul has the best sword spinning skills
I believe its more difficult doing this with a real katana because 3 pounds is hard to lift with just your thumb weight
+Jian Lin Not exactly. It's not your thumb that's doing all the work, but your hand that creates the momentum. Your fingers should control its direction while maintaining grip.
learn from physics , the more heavy it is the more momentum it had, because the more heavy the unit , the more force we have to made to create velocity
Ok, good.
Ayyy
Is it normal for your front knuckle to hurt after doing it?
its a plastic sword
How to you do the flip part??
