I learned to drive a stick as ateen too. At first, I wasn't very good. My Uncle took me to buy my first brand new car. It was a stick. I test drive it, but couldn't get it. My uncle bought me and him 2 16 oz beers. I drive that car from Lewisville to Dallas. Laughing all the way. But the next morning, when I was sober, I couldn't drive it. I needed a beer, so I wouldn't think about shifting gears. 😂😂😂 But after a few days, I made myself learn to drive sober. I live telling that story. But I'm no where God as this young lady. GO GIRL!!!

I don’t know anything about racing or their cars. But I was wondering the same thing. And if while practicing, why not get accustomed to wearing a helmet. Then when wearing it for the actual event, it will feel familiar.
I could be wrong, but as a parent, I always think safety first. For what never happened in a million years could happen in a split second. Life is unpredictable.

I learned to drive a stick as ateen too. At first, I wasn't very good. My Uncle took me to buy my first brand new car. It was a stick. I test drive it, but couldn't get it. My uncle bought me and him 2 16 oz beers. I drive that car from Lewisville to Dallas. Laughing all the way. But the next morning, when I was sober, I couldn't drive it. I needed a beer, so I wouldn't think about shifting gears. 😂😂😂 But after a few days, I made myself learn to drive sober.
I live telling that story.

I loved my stick because every time I go to my mom’s house my sister would ask if she could borrow my car.
My four kids learned how to drive stick at age 16. That’s the only way we would teach them. They are now 30, 27, 26 and 24.
