the 160 has more bass , probably more balanced freqcurve, however the 120 fits so nicely , it is as if the guitar gets loose from the speaker . i prefer the 120 , great amp nice model , what year ?
Not vastly different. I imagine they can be made to sound almost identical with the tone knobs, which will have a natural variance between them. Curious: On the usual JC stereo chorus, ONE of the speakers is switched to project only clean signal. Does this mean that the JC-160 plays clean signal through TWO speakers?
Great comparison! I hope to have a vintage JC again someday!👍
You should mate ❤️

Both these amps are first generation from 1976
I wonder what 2 JC40s compares with a JC120. I have a JC40 and was either thinking of buying another JC40 or upgrading to a JC120
I had a stereo setup with two JC22. It’s a very fun option. Buy a JC120 and keep The JC40. Please subscribe
Wow. How much does the JC160 weigh? I have a JC120 and can barely lift it! Lovely sounds as always :)
About 40kg I think but I'm not sure. Anyway is a lot mate 😅
Wow the head room on the 160
I love my 120
I love them both. My 160 is museum grade, really time machine amp...

Yes mate, the 160 is wet/dry two speaker at time in a X pattern.
