Did I say HAT or HEAD 🤔
So today I thought I would watch this back with closed captions on to find out once and for all who was right at 3.28, altho to a New Zealand ear I for sure said ''hat'', the closed captions give it to you guys and say I said ''head'' 😬 so there we have it 🤗 The mystery has been solved (kinda) but I have enjoyed the debate and friendly banter about my accent, thanks for watching the video 🤗

obviously whenever life is lost its tragic and sad, especially at places that are supposed to be for having fun, but when you go into a restricted area near a rollercoaster while said rollercoaster is in operation, it's not like the park or anyone else can be at fault. most of these big name parks have very strict safety procedures and policies put into place to keep their riders safe, and a large majority of injuries/deaths are at fault of parkgoers disobeying rules. be smart when you're at these theme parks! follow the rules put in place for your safety and the safety of others

I worked at this park 2 seasons after the last accident, I worked with many of the same people who in fact responded to the accident that same day, the tragedy is that he almost didn’t meet his fate that way, as he was standing back up, hat in hand, it happened, this was the incident that really changed how they enforced things at the park, after that it was truly zero tolerance for those kinds of things, guest caught hopping the fence or attempting to get into those areas were met with two outcomes : best case the fear or
God was imparted into them about their choices and what could happen, more often people were kicked out because they insisted that they needed insert what ever item was lost and just had to climb the fence and ignore the minimum 3 signs in front of them explaining how it’s a poor choice to enter the area. Even employees in those areas weren’t immune, even ride shut down, park not open god forbid they caught you taking a short cut through one of those areas. Moral of the story, if there are signs that say do not enter, dont.

I was there and working the day it happened in 2008. (I was one of the Looney Tunes.) I was at the top of the hill leading out of the Gotham City area. I'll never forget the people screaming as they ran up the hill out of the area. Our supervisors pulled us in and said they couldnt tell us what was going on yet. They grabbed table cloths from our back area (which we later realized, they used to cover the body & scene). It wasnt until closer to the end of the day that they told us what happened, and said we (specifically, the employees) could not talk to the media about it.
We heard different things, such as he dropped his hat, or his basketball. But the story that security told me, was that the kid was trying to get into the park by jumping the fence.

It’s more sad that his dumb teenager decisions ended up costing him his life, because most of us took silly risks as kids but most of us managed to avoid risks which would decapitate us. As an ex ride operations sup, jumping the fences of restricted or danger zones used to be park ejection, NOW, it’s a felony. We would mock people who jump fences because it is absolutely stupid and bizarre that people do this. This actually happened to me, I dispatched a train, looked around for a second and saw someone in a fenced in area. I hit the ride stop so hard, had a train going up the lift, It got stuck. Park security escorted the idiot out.

You remind me that these non moving theme parks are safe even though you’re talking about death and injury, because you don’t make it sound like this could happen all the time like some fearmongerers. I’m even planning to go to Alton towers for the first time since the incident and go on intense rides like oblivion and thirteen, I finally feel safe again. Thank you.

I remember losing my Visor, on the now defunct Lightning Loops coaster, at Six Flags Great Adventure while on a Senior high school class trip. I went back to the same park on a College freshman school trip. That visor was still sitting underneath the loop where I lost it a year earlier. Tragically, a young girl was killed on this ride. The train had started running before she had a chance to put down her restraint bar. As the train started to dive into the loop, she shot out of her seat and landed head first on the track below. I'm just guessing that this particular incident may have started the....thumbs up sign...you now see from park employees worldwide, before releasing trains from the station.

happen on other rollercoaster accidents, came loose and lifted. It was terrifying! Everytime we crested an incline
and began to descend, I was lifted from my seat. My eldest brother, 17, kept his arm across me the remainder
of the ride, though I doubt that would have helped if we'd been travelling at the speeds of rollercoasters today.

You can be a victim of yourself, or a victim of stupidity, or a victim of a very ineffective education system, or a victim of parents who never taught you that your head is worth more than what you wear on it. Being an idiot is not always a choice, especially when it ends up getting you killed. It's not like he was drunk or anything, at least the kid wasn't (most likely), and he was not even old enough to make his own legal decisions. How could he be held responsible for his own stupid death when legally pretty much everything he did was still his parents' responsibility? I agree he was dumb- but every kid is dumb at some point. I know for sure that everyone I know, myself included has done something that could have gotten us killed at some point. I bet you text and drive on occasion, and you're pretty likely to die doing that. The only reason we are here to talk about the ones who aren't is not because we are smarter, or superior in some way; it's just because we are luckier. I hope they rest in peace, and that their loved ones find closure.
