    Just amazing, that anyone over the age of 8, would blame any place, for not having signs or gates, doors, locks, to keep adults from breaking into the establishment,. I think we can all agree, when a place is closed, it's closed.
    My sister tried to pull this crud, when my nephew broke into a school, and ruined the science lab. She wanted to sue the school, because he'd gotten cut, and needed stitches. She called me, to see if my husband thought she had a case. I told her she had a case to ground her child for the rest of the school year, and to make him cut lawns, wash cars, windows, earn money to pay for the dam

      I think it's a little more nuanced than that. In certain situations, it's 100% the fault of the person breaking the law, but the owner of the property is also to blame in some rare circumstances. As an exaggerated example, imagine if there wasn't any "keep out" signs or any fencing. Someone would likely assume they could just walk right in. There is a certain minimal amount of effort that you have to do to keep people (either stupid, or drunk, or unwitting children) away from dangerous locations or circumstances.
      In the case of the rollercoaster man, that was 100% his fault. There were clear deterrents meant to keep people away. In the case of the people with the water slide, those chains should have been locked in place. I don't think they broke any negligence laws by leaving them unlocked, but it does allow people to get in and either injure themselves or potentially injure other people by leaving broken bottles around or breaking things. The gate at the bottom of the slide is especially stupid. It doesn't improve safety in any way, and all it takes is forgetting to open those up one day, and an innocent person winds up with two broken legs and a great lawsuit on their hands.

    • @spygod10
      @spygod10 Месяц назад

      @haleyweiss5426 are you retarded? do you go to the water park when it's closed? hop a fence then get naked and ride a water slide with no water going?

    • @oliverholmes-gunning5372
      @oliverholmes-gunning5372 3 месяца назад +16

      @@peterrose9985 not really, we just need to decide on a universal definition. For me "intelligence" has always meant the traditional definition, ie "naturally gifted at processing and interacting with abstract information". For example, Isaac Newton could barely dress himself, but I don't think anyone would call him "dumb". The problem arises in the fact that we today use "dumb" to mean everything from "intellectually challenged", to "ignorant" (another major fallacy, since innate intelligence and the opportunity to have been properly schooled are in no way related), to "lacking in common sense", which leads to a popular assumption that the opposite ("intelligent") must also apply to all of these when in fact it's only the first one.
      I have a friend who is incredibly emotionally perceptive and sensible, but not very bright academically, or interested in the world around him. I wouldn't call him "intelligent". I have another friend who is probably the most academically sharp person I have ever met (I'm talking Einstein-sharp, the guy really is on another level), but who constantly insists on doing really stupid shit while drunk (which is quite a lot of the time). I WOULD call him "intelligent". So yeah, I would say that doctor was highly intelligent. She also happened to have the common sense of a gerbil. The two are definitely not mutually exclusive...

Also, peanuts aren't nuts as many people think, they are legumes. It's easy for human beings to get confused in this galaxy of so many processed commercial "foods".

      Indeed not. I had an IQ test as a student which was 172. They did psychology experiments on me as a result. My IQ was entirely logical and abstract. I failed to complete any spatial tasks or any requiring coordination. I have since been diagnosed decades later as having autism and a functional neuropathy. I reckon my IQ was actually pretty normal but as I had dyspraxia and no coordination at all my only skill and means of connecting to reality was logic so that was the major proportion of my living activity. In a pre industrial World they would probably have tossed me off a cliff for being of no use whatsoever. The climb down the chimney was similar to me climbing into an upper flat window and falling. Thankfully I was drunk and hit a large rhododendron bush on way down. I have also parked a car roadside once full of fireworks, utterly mad but I had forgotten they were there, I also capsized a dinghy while out on a rope at side and nearly drowned as I kept pushing rope down instead of unclipping it. I am now banned from driving Tue to absences perception loss and zoning out. I still know huge amounts of stuff and can solve amazing logic puzzles but I am basically unemployable. A Darwin crazy death for me still seems a possibility. Think the big man that I know does not exist has saved me at least 3 times. Not even discussed my head on car crash here.

      Having a high IQ has never been a predictor of how well a person will make their way through life or of how mentally stable they would be (or are). The propensity for bizarre (or just plain dumb) behavior can be seen across the entire spectrum of intelligence. I've met demonstrably 'dull' people who had good common sense, and (at work years ago) a PhD who botched what would occur in a certain process. A _small child_ could have been told a few things about that same process and predicted the result: Mass A will move from here... to here. The PhD got it backwards; he was too deep into his own calcs, bungled the math, then proudly proclaimed his answer. We were so embarrassed for him that we opted to contact one of his direct co-workers and have that person break the news to the PhD.

      Your comment is equally mind blowing. Security systems are designed for people/ conditions that are outside of ideal design conditions. By definition ferpetesake someone who breaks into a water park is either immature, or lost, or mentally ill, a thrill seeker, drunk--something. So security systems have to --within reason--protect the drunk, mentally unstable etc; not just the wiser-than-thou RUclipsr in his recliner. When you’re drunk your lack of good judgment is at its peak. Again, within reason, the park has an obligation to protect the the 17 year old thrill seeker, drunk etc. The idea that a drunk pair might [quite easily, it turns out] break into a water park for some fun, is a predictable situation, (especially drunk) and one that security systems should have anticipated. To say, essentially, we INADVERTENTLY, set up a booby trap that would severely hurt you is your fault because you shouldn’t have been there. A lawyer worth his/ her weight in salt would win that. It’s like booby trapping your pick up truck so a thief is killed. “He shouldn’t have been there” is no excuse. We don’t kill people over property crimes. The water park shouldn’t have had to had 24 human security, but making it super easy for 2 drunk party goers to get seriously hurt is reckless.

    Hey, Aldershot resident here.
    About the Lido, after the couple broke into the outdoor pool the park staff decided to add another gate at the top of the slides so they could prevent this happening again and installed more cameras and security alarms for the gates. Small issue was that park staff kept setting off the alarms because they were incredibly annoying to disable so the gates were removed. The fence is a lot taller now, mainly hidden by surrounding bushes and a lot harder to climb.
    To be fair, I have no clue why they broke into the Lido of all places, it's pretty bad now due to mismanagement.
    To be fair though since the town has way too many drunk heads and druggies now, this national display is an average saturday now 😂

    Having worked at a theme park as a teen, long before this event happened, on a coaster designed by the same company, with a similar design, we would tell people "If anything is lost on the ride, it will be turned into Lost And Found AFTER the park closing" Meaning, you can wait up to an hour after park closing to get your items back or come back tomorrow morning. At NO POINT during operation would ANYONE except maintenance ever inspect or be on the grounds of the tracks, and even then, it was only when the ride was E-Stopped. Fences were high enough to prevent climbing over, they were placed FAR from the track and more toward the public areas so anyone would be seen and caught climbing over the fence and prevented doing so, even if they did jump over, it was still a good two bus lengths of running before getting close to a track or support. From what I remember, the train was high enough to not hit anyone standing directly under it but only by inches. If a rider was on it, the legs would definitely kill whomever was on the ground, and break the legs of anyone who hit the person on the ground.

As adults, they must have known that trespassing on someone else's property, in the middle of the night, was wrong (They had done it in the past). If the fence was 8 foot tall & the gate had three or four locks on it, would trespassers not blame the property owners for the crime they committed? And as adults, assuming the easy entry was the same as when they did it before, shouldn't they notify the park management of the possible hazard?

    The fence was entirely to blame for the first death in your video. Fences are known to taunt imbeciles who have an inane urge to be on the other side of them. Fences like to make it easy for such people by either being too low, not spikey enough, not electrified or otherwise make it easy to get past them by means of cheap wire cutters or by presenting lose corners in the mesh or gaps to allow human species from the shallow end of the gene pool to crawl through. Fences have even been accused to have gates in them with padlocks that are easily defied with something as simple as a small rock. Whilst fences do not have brains, humans purportedly do, although in a number of cases it seems that the proximity of fences, especially those with big warning signs on them, temporarily disables these. So yeah, all blame should go to the fence. Bad fence.

  • @adamdelarozza1985
