Easy DIY Foam Cutter from old Soldering Iron

  • Since I buy and collect old tools and gadgets I have the need to make custom boxes and for some I would like to have foam inlays. I had the idea of making an easy foam cutter with things I had at home (I'm temprarily locked in my flat due to having caught the world wide wirus. Sorry for the occational cough).
    I personally find this much more productive than stream myself playing video games such as Minecraft, Roblox or Fortnite. (Which I dont do in any case but appearently its good for the algoritm to write this)
    This is the first try and it worked pretty well. I see a lot of room for adjustments improvements, which is great!
    In this video I'm using an old soldering iron, some scrap copper wire (it conducts heat very well), a longer screw than the irons original one, due to the copper wire being thinner than the original soldering tip, and some simple tools.
    Sorry for the changes in light, I don't know why it looks like that on camera.
