When Winston’s dad called, Gazerbeam and Fironic, they were most likely dead at that point. Syndrome lured in hero’s with false promises, only to use them as test dummies for his robots. I don’t know the exact number, but a lot of hero’s died on that island.
And thanks to the first movie, we know for a fact that Gazerbeam was one of those killed by Syndrome. While I, and likely many others, don't remember whether Fironic was among those listed as having been on the island, Gazerbeam being one of the heroes Winston's father tried to call helps establish that connection to the events of the first movie and the likely fate of Fironic. A brilliant bit of writing and continuity between two films, even 14 years apart from one another.
Gazerbeam was probably still alive. His missing person report was in print in the first movie. The break-in at the Deaver's was years before, likely just after supers went into hiding. They didn't respond to the call because they weren't allowed to be heroes anymore.

One of my favorite things about this movie is how they show more of Lucius' relationship with the Parrs. Violet's first move when they find out about Jack Jack's powers and how overwhelmed Bob is, is to call Lucius. Bob has to run and save Helen, he calls Lucius to check on the kids. The fact that the Incredimobile was programmed with Lucius to have access to it says a ton about the trust Bob had for him even before he and Helen got married (and the fact that Lucius uses it to get the kids to safety while sacraficing himself!). I just really love their dynamic 😭❤️
There are some great shorts that were included in the dvd releases for both films which focuses on Jack Jack and they are great, would def recommend them as you seem to enjoy his scenes. Its "Jack Jack Attack" and "Auntie Edna". The first one is his time with the babysitter in the first movie and the second is his time with Edna in this one!

Edit: A lot of people are telling me this movie is well loved which I'm glad to hear. I've just heard a lot of people who hate the movie, more than I've heard the love. You guys can stop getting upset about me claiming people hate it now because it was never my intention. I was just glad to see someone enjoy the movie for once compared to all the hate I personally saw the movie getting.
Whoa, this is the first time I'm hearing about anyone hating it, or even strongly disliking it! Sure it's not quite as brilliant as the first, but I feel like most audiences still really enjoyed it and found it a worthy sequel.
@@dlweissI’m pretty sure there’s some series that picks apart the entire movie and calls it bad. I don’t mind this one, but the original is much, MUCH better!
I love that their names also play/hint at their powers for the kids! Violet - invisible and on the light spectrum ultraviolet is invisible to the eye. Dash - does everything fast af. Jackjack - jack of all trades.
What I like about this movie is how it continues to expand on the character arcs from the first movie, as you explained. It's nice to see the swapping of roles between Bob and Helen. Bob was always pining to be the hero and likely considered parenting "easy" since he never took part in it as much as Helen only to find that it's harder than it looks, especially when Jack-Jack begins developing his own powers. Meanwhile, Helen was always the mom who knew parenting's challenges but probably still overestimated her superhero abilities to an extent (I remember her strong feminist views at the beginning of the first film), so her experiences against Screenslaver were definitely a step up for her as well. On top of that, the kids once again found themselves having to do something when their parents were out of the picture, except in this instance, they were literally the only ones able to begin saving the day by freeing their parents from mind control. All around, everyone had moments of maturity in this film, and that's what a good sequel storyline should do with its main characters.
Actually, a LOT of people have face blindness where if someone wears glasses, changes their hair, etc they genuinely cannot tell it's the same person. Thats part of why superman being Clark kent was able to go unnoticed for so long. Its a very real thing and the majority of people have it.
Literally!! Someone I have seen every day at work for over a year wears glasses. They put contact lenses in yesterday and I genuinely didn't recognise him. It confused me so much!! 😫😫
Christopher Reeve would gain attention when he walked to the studio commissary....in his Superman suit. On the days he wore his Clark Kent attire, he was unnoticed.
I love Oscar’s reactions he’s such a genuine guy like YESSS😌if only society had an OUNCE of his kindness but then again he’s one of a kind and bc of that his character just shines even more brighter 😭✨🙏
Hopping back on my Cinema Therapy soapbox lol they did a two-parter if anyone’s interested, one on how accurate these movies portray good parenting, and another on the portrayal of how kids develop and behave. They’re so spot on it’s actually insane. You caught some of it when you said “Teenagers don’t miss a thing” referring to Violet and when Jack-Jack was associating the raccoon with the TV bandit. Pixar’s detailing is soooo crazy good (as usual) Also: I just KNOW the animators had a blast working on Jack-Jack. So many possibilities and new powers etc. And GREAT eye seeing the family painting!!
DId you see the "after film extra" Jack-Jack Attack after Incredibles 1? The Incredibles 2 one is with Edna and Jack-Jack. I almost love those two videos more than the films.
One of the things I like about this movie is watching the dynamics regarding the roles of women and men in a relationship. We can see how difficult it was for Bob to accept his wife´s success. He wanted to be the hero and the famous one to receive admiration from people. He wanted to relive his glory days as much as he did in the first movie, and having to accept it was her chance to be great was hurting his pride so much at first. Also, the fact that she did not fully trust in his capacity to take care of their children says a lot about how much she had to do to raise them without much of his help because he wasn´t really invested in raising children while he had to go out to work. Some of that was portrayed in the first movie when she told him about Dash being called to the principal´s office while Bob did not actually hear a thing; he was just distracted by his dissatisfaction with life and his own wishes. I guess that kind of thing happened a lot over the years after superheroes became illegal. But it is great to see how Bob, though reluctantly, supported her at the end to be the one outside showing the world how incredible she was, and he also learned to be a good father. That´s just amazing and shows his great growth as a character.
Yeah people are always going to have a problem with a storyline like that like I have heard of how people feel like the movie is feminist which I don’t agree with. I think the storyline however would have been super polarising decades ago but today it’s honestly very acceptable (for the most part) Bobs role in the film. It’s not exactly revolutionary but I’m glad kids have some kind of movie they can look at and see a dad just being a dad.
@@totokekedile There's nothing wrong with it, but it's definitely used by people as a "woke" label and make an excuse that it's therefore virtue signalling/grandstanding, as a way to invalidate the inherent value and quality of the movie.
@@totokekedile The issue is that 'Feminist' doesn't really mean what it used to anymore. Feminist used to just mean you support equality and women's rights. These days, hearing someone is a 'Feminist' typically sets off massive red flags because now it tends to mean they are actually sexist against men, will get upset at you for ridiculous things, and will be extremely accusatory to the point that even just saying hi is sexual harassment. Usually when a movie tries to be 'Feminist', the reason it crosses over into 'woke' is because the message isn't about equality or anything like that, but is more typically that women are perfect, can do anything, should never be questioned, should never be shown to struggle, and all the while, men are assholes, full of themselves, hate women, and are actually useless. Look at Star Wars as an example, specifically with Holdo. People had legitimate questions, they wanted to know what the plan was, what she was going to do to get them out of the situation she was in. And instead of giving answers, instead of being a leader, reassuring them, and you know... leading them. She just got angry she was being questioned, yelled at people for questioning her, and of course, it was the men questioning the woman. I don't dislike this movie, and I think it at least mostly stayed away from being woke. Little comments like at the very start the kid saying 'It's not like I don't like strong girls, I'm pretty secure' was a direct jab at this belief that the only reason people dislike characters like Rey in Star Wars is because they are insecure and 'feel threatened by strong female protagonists'. Yet consider... Characters like Ripley, Sarah Connor, Hermione, Daenerys... ever seen Kill Bill? Ever heard anyone complaining about how it's woke or anything like that? No... know why? Because it was a legitimately cool character who was just a character, and was not defined by their gender. But like I said, this movie did stay away from that kind of stuff for the most part. In the first movie Bob had health issues and had to start training and exercising to get back into shape to be a Hero again, while Helen seems to just jump straight into it, but then you have to consider, the family were being Heroes for a while, so she's not coming straight out of retirement like he did. I do just hate things though like this original comment where it's like, 'Oh yeah Bob struggles with not being the important one and only reluctantly accepts letting Helen go out and be the one to be in the spotlight'. But then of course, when the topic comes up about how Helen has no faith in Bob being able to be a good dad and how she doesn't trust him and is obviously very much expecting to have to come rushing home... oh well see now we have to defend Helen's side of things because being a mother is just so hard and he just doesn't know what it's like as a MAN and so of course she wouldn't have any faith in him and bla bla bla. It's not a fair argument. It's not a discussion about equality. It's saying that he's being a dumb petty man who can't let go of his ego, and she's just being a mom who is in her right to have no faith because dumb men just don't know how hard women have it. I'm glad that it showed that he did become a competent father, he did well, especially considering he was dealing with a baby who had every super power that was specifically designed to make him a nightmare for parenting. The movie showed both sides. A woman can go and be the hero of the family. And a man can be the father at home his kids need him to be. That's equality.
19:15 I notice a lot of people consistently bring up this moment where Bob is evidently struggling to congratulate Helen on saving the train as character assassination or similar stuff. Few things here, namely two: 1 - Bob spent years wanting to return to Hero work, finally given his chance “handed to him” on a silver platter by Winston Deavor. After hiding constantly hiding his training and work from her, Bob sees the chance to not only return to hero work and give a chance for Supers to return, but to do it without lying to his family… only to have it all torn away from him as Winston offered the chance to Helen instead, who didn’t even want it at first. Not only that, but Winston (whether intentionally or not) inferred he was clumsy and inefficient, with graphs and number but still, it’s a bit harsh. 2 - If you remember The Incredibles 1, namely the beginning where Bob saved the guy who jumped and subsequently left him in constant pain for a long time, the guy that sued him. The dude SUED Mr Incredible, who kinda was the Premier Super at the time, very popular even in the face of other, more powerful Supers due to his personality and dedication. And if Mr Incredible could be sued, who else could? Completely on accident, Mr Incredible spearheaded the series of trials and hearings bringing down Supers, including a number to do with the sheer amount of collateral damage caused to buildings and others by Supers in their attempts to “save” people, one of the forerunners alongside the Suicidal Sue-er was Bob’s saving of that train after Buddy accidentally dragged Bomb Voyage’s bomb to the track. Saving a TRAIN, the very thing Helen is cheering excitedly about to him over the phone. Bob saves a train and it’s part of the foundation the Government used to make Supers illegal. Helen saves a train and it’s part of their plan to make them legal? Does that seem right to you? _That’s a Reference_
I see what you’re saying but this explanation isn’t really going into depth into the context which changes a lot. Regardless of how Mr Incredible feels about being left out of only step 1 in the master plan, it’s a bit cheesy for him to struggle to say something encouraging to his wife. Totally understand his struggle to sit idle but just saying she’ll be great and struggling that much was pretty funny tbh. It felt off. Now I think people are a little dramatic if they’re saying it’s character assassination but there is no denying it was a strange choice making the guy almost verbally gag at encouraging his wife 😆😆 regardless of his prior history. Literally everything else is fine. His pain over the phone with his wife as she celebrates her victory. All of that made sense for sure.
@@thecocoacouch Oh definitely cheesy, and going deeper into context was… just something I glossed over. Usually people use the scene to label Bob as a crappy individual who can’t support his wife, and I guess I used the opportunity to rant. Sorry about that.

This was my favorite movie, since the main focus is heroes and stuff. It still has those moments which people (especially parents) could relate to. Such as having disagreement on things, but still able to communicate and talk through. And it was nice how they showed that Mr incredible struggled hard dealing with raising the kids, especially since he's doing it on his own. But he still pushes through and works on improving to be able to help his kids. And seeing even elasticgirl kinda struggling with being a solo hero, it's nice that they showed everyone was struggling with all that was happening, but still managing to push through and not giving up.

I completely understand being frustrated with plot holes or wanting authenticity or realism in a movie but if you compare Mr & Mrs Incredible‘s work, they’re continuously shown to be a perfect match because and through their similar/identical competency level, focus, fighting state of mind, lack of concern and simultaneous high regard for people.

Your idea of giving Elastigirl a flight suit of some kind is actually a really good idea for a third film. she can literally BE an airfoil. All she needs is propulsion.
There's also a short of The Incredibles which revolves around all the powers Jack-Jack has. During the time he stayed with Edna, and how she babysat him.
I like that they didn’t do it too obviously because they introduced "Winston Deavor" who introduced his "sister Evelyn." So you don’t immediately put her first and last name together
31:33 your realisation 😂 like from the beginning especially when talking about their past when their father was shot well I knew the sister of the rich guy was the culprit
My theory is that Jack Jack is actually an incredibly powerful shapeshifter. He doesn't actually have multiple superpowers but he can unconsciously transform his body so that he can turn into other Supers on a cellular level.
I don’t really understand what you mean. If his superpower was only to look like other superheroes, I’d understand. But then he wouldn’t be able to do the things they can do. He’s doing multiple things, though, just like e.g. Violet (protective shield and invisibility shield). I don’t think it really matters if he has the same abilities as other superheroes but I think he has multiple, independently used powers (using telekinesis, setting yourself on fire and becoming a demon monster are very different abilities)
It was so fun to watch this! The Incredibles 1 and 2 are definitely my favorite Pixar movies! There are two extra shorts that go with the movies that you should do like a mini reaction to
To me it shows how a person can really do a lot when they harness their own talents, in this case, Elastigirl's superpower. Sometimes we see like someone discovering their own powers they struggle and fumble and stuff but this, it shows like the refined version of them and what they can do. It's like with music when someone starts to learn a new instrument, and when someone has mastered it to the next/ultimate level, they're like virtuous with it
The theory for the eccentric billionaire they got the house from in the second film is syndrome after he left, the idea is that he used to live there because as you'll notice it's in a Rockwall like his other underground bunker from the first film, the idea is that he built that house for him to live in and then when he decided that he wanted to start killing all the superheroes he then left the house and created his little underground layer so the house was abandoned and sold to someone else and now the Incredibles get to live it, it also explains all the other hideaways and compartments within the house I think, but it is just a theory, the other theory is that it could've belonged to one of the superheroes who was killed by syndrome so whether or not you think it was syndrome Home or belong to one of the other superheroes, like I said it's just a theory.

my favourite facts about this movie are: - frozone, knowing superheroes were being mind controlled, sends the car which is a computer with no prior biases to collect the kids. This essentially removes the danger of being captured by mind controlled supers since they wouldn't be able to fool a computer in the same way they would fool a person. - Normally Void is a very nervous super, you can see this when she's first introduced and at the end, but when she's under the control of the screenslaver she's precise, quick, and can easily overpower violet tactically and puts up a way better fight against elastigirl than any other super does. - "Evelyn Deavor" sounds like "Evil Endevour" - Evelyn, unlike other villains, doesn't work against herself like syndrome did. She lets the ship captain report that supers are "forcibly taking the bridge", furthering he own plan. - Edna Mode is voiced by the director, Brad Bird - Jack-Jack's powers reflect what it's like to have a baby

There's actually a theory out there assuming that Violet is Edna's daughter. Their appearance is similar (Violet doesn't look like either of her parents) and it would explain why Edna and the Parr's are so close

I think for a sequel, especially one that came out so long after the first, it's a pretty amazing movie.
@@dlweissI’m pretty sure there’s some series that picks apart the entire movie and calls it bad. I don’t mind this one, but the original is much, MUCH better!
I Mean I Loved It I Can’t Wait For The Third One
HOLY HECK I never noticed that painting!! That is such a cool detail!! 19:03
The animators really knocked it out of the park with Violet's expressions in this one. She's the funniest part of the movie, IMO.
I love that their names also play/hint at their powers for the kids!
Violet - invisible and on the light spectrum ultraviolet is invisible to the eye.
Dash - does everything fast af.
Jackjack - jack of all trades.
I noticed Dash’s name, but Jack Jack and Violet’s names! I just thought «oh, Violet because her shields are purple»💀
Violet famous line “why are you in your super suit!?” Edit: thanks for the likes
Pixar’s detailing is soooo crazy good (as usual)
Also: I just KNOW the animators had a blast working on Jack-Jack. So many possibilities and new powers etc. And GREAT eye seeing the family painting!!
Love Cinema Therapy!
DId you see the "after film extra" Jack-Jack Attack after Incredibles 1? The Incredibles 2 one is with Edna and Jack-Jack. I almost love those two videos more than the films.
yea I wish someone would put out reactions to all the pixar shorts from iconic movies. Jack Jack Attack, boundin, for the birds, bao, lava, etc.
I love how Jack Jack is named that because he’s the Jack of all trades. He has all the powers 😊
And hasn't mastered any....yet.
@@thecocoacouch What would be wrong with the movie being feminist?
@@totokekedileEverything.

I notice a lot of people consistently bring up this moment where Bob is evidently struggling to congratulate Helen on saving the train as character assassination or similar stuff.
Few things here, namely two:
1 - Bob spent years wanting to return to Hero work, finally given his chance “handed to him” on a silver platter by Winston Deavor.
This was an INCREDIBLE second movie! Also the way they improved how the characters look was incredible too.
You've got to see the shorts that went along with these movies... "Jack Jack Attack" and "Auntie Edna".
I've been waiting for this. I love watching your commentaries, you always stay so wholesome and positive. Your channel is such a nice atmosphere. Keep up the great work 😊
I'm glad you figured out the painting easter egg! That's a bit of fun symbolism.
Elastagirl literally let people die in one scene. You can't make this stuff up people!

@@anzeigefehler6495 I'm just trying to spread the word. That this movie is worse than what people think. It's still an okay movie, but it has its problems. A lot of them significant.
@@jinthefifth980 I honestly don’t get what you’re on about with her being incompetent. You’re criticizing that they let Elastagirl have faults and make mistakes, yet all of her issues are very similar to her husband’s problems/solutions in the first movie. The way he tried to catch bad guys is just as problematic and deadly at times, if not more. They just framed it differently.
@@otter011 Elastagirl had no regard for the people she just let get blown up in the apartment. She could have EASILY just said to anyone: Get out there's a bomb. Nope. Instead she wasted time chasing the screenslaver which could have been easily caught anyway.
Jack Jack is my favorite because he is literally the "Jack of All Trades"with his multiple superpowers hence his name.
Funny thing is, that quote is popular but it’s actually longer and they cut out the other part which is “…but a master of none.” Meaning Jack Jack does have a ton of powers but he’s not a master of any of them. Like Edna said, he’ll eventually land on being a master of one power.
I love it how you post just around lunchtime. ❤ getting cozy and enjoying my meal is the best. I love food.

@47:40 "Can you imagine..." It's been done. _My Super Ex-Girlfriend_ (2006), with Uma Thurman and Luke WIlson.
There are other family of supers movies where an average person becomes part of that super-family?
That movie acted like it was funny for the man to be in an abusive relationship. You know they never would have made that movie if it was a man with superpowers harassing his ex-girlfriend.
The fact that you noticed the painting in the background was insane!!! I’ve never noticed it before, and usually, I tend to look at clues and eastereggs in the background of movies!
We waited 14 years for this movie, and it was worth the wait for sure, even though it had a predictable storyline it didnt really matter, we got a sequel to a fantastic movie from our childhood, and it was totally up to snuff with the first movie.
You could say....this film was Up To Parr

31:06 love this moment, it's good to be vulnerable to sit down and talk be honest.
It's not being weak it's being human
Incredibles KILLS it by making the focus a family while still giving each character personality and problems to overcome.
There's also a short of The Incredibles which revolves around all the powers Jack-Jack has. During the
time he stayed with Edna, and how she babysat him.
These reactions are so much more fun now that I get to watch them after school
As soon as she was introduced as "Evelyn Deavor" I knew she was the villain:
Evelyn Deavor
"Evil Endeavor"
Her name was literally a villain pun lmao
That's so smart omg 😂
I feel like everyone got Second Hand Embarresement for Violet from the Restaurant Scene 💀
24:36 Your laugh 😅😂
It was so fun to watch this! The Incredibles 1 and 2 are definitely my favorite Pixar movies! There are two extra shorts that go with the movies that you should do like a mini reaction to
To me it shows how a person can really do a lot when they harness their own talents, in this case, Elastigirl's superpower. Sometimes we see like someone discovering their own powers they struggle and fumble and stuff but this, it shows like the refined version of them and what they can do. It's like with music when someone starts to learn a new instrument, and when someone has mastered it to the next/ultimate level, they're like virtuous with it
If you date someone with powers you’d be at risk all the time of villains either trying to kill you or being kidnapped.
Really enjoyed your reaction!! 🙂 You are very open minded, non judgemental and positiv, that's why you are my favorite movie reacter! 🙂
I love this channel so much. Can surely say you are my favorite person from RUclips. You're such a sweet person. Thank you for your reactions. I will be waiting for more! Wish you everything great, take care🫶🏻

Jack Jack partially warped the car, Violet, and Dash into the next dimension and right back into their own
also, I totally get that newscaster when he was saying how strange it is to see a recording of yourself with no recollection of it, recently saw a security cam recording of myself walking around mid-seizure (epilepsy), and it was so bizzare because i dont recall it at all
my favourite facts about this movie are:
- frozone, knowing superheroes were being mind controlled, sends the car which is a computer with no prior biases to collect the kids.
- "Evelyn Deavor" sounds like "Evil Endevour"
- Evelyn, unlike other villains, doesn't work against herself like syndrome did. She lets the ship captain report that supers are "forcibly taking the bridge", furthering he own plan.
- Edna Mode is voiced by the director, Brad Bird
- Jack-Jack's powers reflect what it's like to have a baby
You are one of my favorite reactors to watch, its like actually just sitting an enjoying a movie with a friend, you always genuinely enjoy the movie you are watching. I know they are shorts but maybe you could do a double short video where you react to both Jack Jack shorts, there is one from when he was being babysat in the first movie and the second short is what happened with Edna when he was left with her.
