I love these mid-year videos! You’ve read so many great books 😍 My 3 favourites so far are Nettle & Bone, Tress of the Emerald Sea and Gideon the Ninth.
Omg yes! Great books
60 books is an amazing amount of books to have read already! ❤
Yeah, I'm happy with it 😊
Wonderful video! I think my favorite book so far this year is Mistborn. I love that book! It was my first Brandon Sanderson. If I was doing top three it would be Mistborn, Belladonna, and The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea. Those were wonderful and stuck with me after I finished them.
Mistborn really is a great series 😊
I love your mid year check in, I must make a note of all the books I have read, I must say my favourite was The last devil to die. 📝📝
Jay Kristoff also co-wrote Illuminae Files with Amie Kaufman and it’s on my TBR and supposedly well loved. Which could lead you to The Isles of the Gods by Amie Kaufman which I DO highly recommend! It is so under the radar, a very fun, unique and emotional YA fantasy sailory adventure 🤩
I second both of these choices. Also Amie Kaufman co wrote a wonderful duology called The Other Side of the Sky and it's amazing. But yeah Illuminae Files is so so worth the read.
I have heard of Isles of the Gods, clearly I need to add it to my tbr. Thank you for the recommendation 😊
I have read 12 books and 1 DNF so far this year! My most favorite book so far is called To Sir, With Love by Lauren Layne such a cute little romance - the banter was perfect and I really liked the characters! It’s a very similar story to the movie You’ve Got Mail but it stands on its own so well, I thought I would be comparing it the whole time and I didn’t at all! ❤
That's great, I'm glad you enjoyed it
oh goodness mid year already! my favorites have been Butcher and Blackbird, A Door in the Dark and Six Crimson Cranes.
It's gone so fast!
📃 🖊 The jump scare was priceless! 😅
🤣🤣
If I find I can’t put down the book, it gets five stars; The Women by Kristin Hannah, One by One by Ruth Ware and The Bullet that Missed by Richard Osman. Mystery is my genre of choice and I own the digital version of the Marlow Murder Club so I’m super stoked to get to it!
Your replay of the doorbell reaction is hilarious! Love all your videos ❤. 📝
I hope you enjoy Marlow Murder Club!!
😅 it was so unexpected
My favorite book so far this year was 'Maeve Fly' by C.J. Leede. ❤❤❤ I LOVED it and I cannot wait to read every 'unhinged woman' book out there
Haha that sounds great
Have been waffling about this for a while but have finally put a hold request in to my library for Gideon the Ninth. 😊
Yay!! Hope you like it
I read Marlow Murder Club because of your recommendation and really loved it too! The only thing that tripped me up was the fallen tree, like nobody could climb over it while Judith was in mortal danger, like how big is this tree?! 😂
Hahahahahahaha it was a monster tree 🤣
I react the same whenever my phone rings! 🤣 Loved this video, sounds like a fantastic reading year so far!
Haha thank you! Glad you like it
My favourite book of the year is the exact same as yours and I only read it because of you. Thank you very much for putting the book on my radar!!! It is my ONLY 5 star so far this year.. absolutely loved it. ❤❤ i am in desperate need to something similar
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! It's such a great book
📃I have read 58 books so far, DNF 10 books. I am finding it difficult to pick an all-time favourite for the year, but my favourite author this year has been Holly Jackson. I have read and loved all of her books.
Holly Jackson is such a great author!
My top favourites of the year have been Her Radiant Curse, The Final Empire, the Throne of Glass series, Tress of The Emerald Sea and The Edens series 📃📃
Ooh great books!
Amazing reading year so far! Really enjoyed hearing your thoughts on the books you've picked up
Thank you! It's been great
Reading sixty books by this point in the year is amazing! I also don't read that many sequels either. I need to try the promised neverland series! I have heard so much about the Will of Many as well, but haven't actually been all that intrigued by it in the slightest... I have gideon of the ninth waiting for me on my shelf so I need to hurry up and pick it up honestly.
Gideon is soo good!
You have read so much books. I've only read 22 books since january!!! Congratulations!!!
Thank you! I have a lot of spare time so that helps 😅
I’ve read 19 so you are doing great!
@@ACanuckinAlabama Thank you
So far my favourites are The Grace of Kings, About a Gnome by Jeff McIntyre (the prequel short story to The Garden Gnome, one of my favourite books of last year) and Castle in the Stars by Alex Alice.
I get what you're saying about The Will of the Many. I really liked it, but not as much as some other people seem to
The Marlowe Murder Club has been on my tbr for a while. Really excited to read it
The Grace of Kings was a great book, definitely need to continue the series
OMG!!! I absolutely loved “ The Marlow Murder Club” it’s really the epitome of a cozy mystery..I really enjoyed this video 🖊️ 📋
Agreed! Such a good book
📋 Great picks 😊 Worryingly I’m struggling to remember what I’ve read this year, let alone what was my favourite… and I haven’t even read that much!!
Hahaha this is why I have a reading journal

🔔🔊😅🤣
Haha thank you!!
So far I'm reading a lot but some mid books sadly. I think my favorite so far is Scarlet Alchemist 💖 fave character is Serapio from Fevered Star
Hopefully you get a great book soon! Mid books are okay but I find too many puts me in a slump
fruit of the dead has a stunning cover
Agreed! So stunning 😍
Other than Gideon... also want to get to Empire of the Vampire this year 🤗
Both great books ☺️
Gideon supremacy 😤📝
💯

Thank you for watching
I love that you created some of your own prompts! I love the stats. I find it fun to look at patterns from year to year. Ahhhh!!! You Let Me In!!! I love that you really enjoyed that book. I don't think it gets talked about enough on booktube. Sad to see The Will of the Many on your list, but I get your criticisms. I didn't love The Witch in the Well, but I would love to hear what you think about it. Name of the Wind with Vampires? Say no more!📔
You Let Me In deserves so much more love! Hahaha vampires for the win

I tried reading Gideon the Ninth and I dnfd it early on, but I keep hearing you talk about it and I think I’m going to give it another try! 📋 🖊️
I can understand why it would be a dnf, it is very complex but I had so much fun with it
📝
Thank you so much!
