since the last update, they changed something so infantry AA doesn't target planes that fly within range automatically.

I've noticed that, it also seems to be the same with helos. But it seems like a coin flip, they either target immediately without any micromanaging or they'll just sit there like they're Frenchmen asked to work 33 hours a week.

that's not really new, I think the game does not properly take flight altitude into account when displaying range to planes

happened to me the same with regular infantry - 60 dudes just got shot at by a single troop transport within launcher range and didnt even bother firing at it until micromanaged (there were no other enemies nearby)
