I always use the excuse of not having time to study Spanish but somehow I always find time to scroll through social media. I’ll definitely implement all of these tips. I’m trying to become fluent in Spanish in 3 years. Time to put in the work!

3 years? Get dedicated to it and you'll do it in even a way smaller period of time (I became fluent in Spanish and I started learning it in August 2022 so you can definitely do it too my brother, now just get to the grind and don't stop!)

@@mmmmkay4773 you definitely can achieve it just gotta be dedicated! There's to say that I'm not a native English speaker (matter of fact I'm born and raised in Italy and we speak Italian, a language way more similar to Spanish than English, but what made it for me was hard work, smart work and dedication. Maybe it'll take you 5 or 6 months but you definitely can achieve it in a short matter of time if you put yourself to it every day for a small bit, even for only half an hour, you don't gotta be as exaggerated as me with 8 hours a day lol)

Hola todos.. Regarding not having time to study. I have a tip that I use. When I'm watching TV and the commercials come on, I put the TV on mute and study throughout those commercials. That's at least five minutes before your show comes back on. Buenos suerte.

Rico, long time since I communicated with you. My name is Victor and some time ago I tried to encourage you to learn more languages. Just finished talking with a Dominican about how well you speak Spanish and that you love Dominican Spanish. I told him to check out your blog. Me, I'm still crazy about languages, trying to at least maintain a certain level of efficiency with some and learn a couple more. German is killing me but I'm not going to give up. It's crazy with 3 genders and often the very last word of a long sentence can be the verb totally separated from the subject. I'm finding Italian much easier as one might imagine. If I can get German I think I'll be done trying to learn new ones; At that point I'll just keep trying to perfect the ones I know. Still I have the dream to learn a non western language but I'm old now and as we know, learning languages is demanding. That said, I might be willing to give Arabic another shot and or Swahili. One can always dream. Take care. Oh, lastly you're probably already aware of it, but I discovered Caso Cerrado on RUclips not to long ago. Man I love it for listening comprehension, some crazy stuff on that show and lots of accents. You're putting out great content!!

The thing I’m encountering now is dialect comprehension. When I’m listening to an advanced level Spanish convo on RUclips from Spain or Colombia I do pretty well and will leave feeling very confident with my Spanish. But then later I’ll go to a Cuban or Puerto Rican channel on YT and I’ll just get too discouraged with my Spanish because I won’t understand most of it.Did you experience this too while learning?

Yes! I’m learning Mexican Spanish because most of the Spanish speaking people in my area are of MX descent. But when I hear “island” Spanish it’s hard for me because they drop letters and it’s harder for my ears to process.

I don't study grammar or vocabulary enough but I do listen throughout the day. I watch the news, keep my Spanish subtitles on, listen to music, etc. The song that's currently my alarm is a song by Leslie Grace so as soon as I wake up, I'm hearing Spanish and for the first 30 minutes of my day, I'm getting ready going over what she said in the song and realizing what she actuality sang vs what I THOUGHT she was saying. I also listen to the story stories and it definitely helps with learning verb conjugation in context.

What would you say the most vital part of learning Spanish is? There are obviously 1000s of words, so that’s an ongoing process.. but do you think learning the conjugations, learning to read it, or practicing speaking is most important? I’m
Currently self teaching but sometimes I feel like I’m going down rabbit holes with no direction

    •  Год назад +2

Practicing speaking hands down is so important. You learn so much that way. And also listening.
