It is bc I can understand and speak their language, and I am from Zambales. These, our sisters however used mixed Tagalog, (largely used in the mainland of Luzon), Kapampangan, (Pampanga's dialect), and Zambal which is used by Botolenos in Zambales. They were a large number who lived in the outskirts of Mt. Pinatubo located at Botolan, Zambales. When Mt. Pinatubo erupted, some of them were relocated in Pampanga and Bataan. However some had returned to different towns in Zambales..near the mountains where they used to inhabit and started re forestation and making the forest young and alive again. They have thriving communities and schools there already.

Just to be clear. The Australo-Melanesian peoples (which include Philippine Negritos, Orang Asli, Andamanese, Papuans, Australian Aborigines, and Dravidian South Asians) are not black. They are the "Basal Asians", the first humans to migrate out of Africa. Traveling along the southern shores of Asia until they reached Southeast Asia at around 70,000 to 60,000 years ago, then to New Guinea, and finally Australia.
They are genetically, the most distant human groups to modern Africans. Despite similar appearances. A white Scandinavian is more closely related to modern Africans, than the Ati people are to Africans. Their closest relatives are actually other Asians. In fact other Filipinos (who are of majority Austronesian/Malayo-Polynesian descent) have around 15 to 20% Negrito ancestry. Which is why we tend to have browner skin than other Asians. Similarly, Filipino Negritos have around 20 to 50% Austronesian/Malayo-Polynesian ancestry.
The similarity of the dark skin and curly hair is just ancient genetics. They have a lot of features that distinguish them from black people. Like the naturally occuring genes for blond or red hair, blue eyes, and having body hair and beards. They are also highly genetically diverse. Papuans for example, tend to have large muscular builds. While Philippine Negritos tend to be small in stature with high cheekbones.
Their modern conditions is sad. Because they traditionally didn't assimilate when the Spanish arrived to colonize the Philippines. Instead they moved deeper into the mountains where they are safer and could continue living traditionally. It's hard for them to integrate into modern society because they are so few. Some groups have already become extinct after they assimilated into lowlander Filipinos. Others get pushed out of traditional territory by private corporations (like what happened to the natives of Boracay). I wish the government did more to help them.

Yes I’ve heard of them. I am an African American and did my DNA through Ancestry and I was surprised, I have Filipino DNA and I wonder if these people are my part of my ancestry.

The Filipino in your ancestry test doesn’t have any relevance to this tribe since Aeta came from a totally different race. The Filipino in you ancestry means “Austronesian” where modern day Filipinos are descended from. What I think, is that your ancestors are probably from Madagascar. Austronesian migration have reached Madagascar and few of them have partial austronesian ancestry.

That school is a Daycare Center, a school funded by the government, where children ages 3 to 5 learn how to hold pencils, learning the letters of the aplhabets. Preparing the children for the real school which is the elementary grades.

Afro-Filipinos ? Negritos are actually Melanesians with finely curled hairs and very dark skins.
They prefer to live near mountains with their own group. That isolation is by choice, they are not being excluded or discriminated against.

These indigenous tribes in our country lives in their ancentral domain in the mountainous areas. The Government protects these ancentral lands of these tribes.. Remember our country was colonized by Spanish colonizers for
400years mostly the lowlands and these people retreated in the mountains.
