you have made a lot of great work here. thank you so much for putting it here and thank you also for showing your process. i have learned a lot. i make very different music but i am stealing a lot. i will post it here someday
Hauntingly beautiful, my friend. I don't know all of the particulars of ambient music, but I know what I like, and I happen to LOVE this. Thanks so much for your content. It gives me a much needed change from the music I listen to and create.
@@Hainbach Please keep it up! I'm really thankful for your work, sir. I really enjoy your treatment and approach to sound. It's unique and unapologetic. It's definitely changed the way I look at things, which, from a meathead guitarist standpoint anyway, has always been different delays and volume swells. The subtle pulses and percolations really bring the songs to life in ways I've not previously experienced or appreciated. From a student to an obvious master, please accept my humble gratitude.
Awesome as always! Also, your tape machine is tripping me out. Every time I look up at the screen it's going in the other direction but I never see it switch up lol
Hi Hainbach, I keep coming back to this lush mix of yours. Would you by any chance let me sample some of the harmonic progression around the 1 minute mark for a composition i'm making? :-)
Yeah, probably. On 23:00 you can hear it. It's resonance is so consistent, audio input barely changes it. I might be wrong, tho. Gotta check to be sure :)
FINALLY - nice to see someone doing SOMETHING that actually resembles 'actual' 'ambient music' ...! loving this series
The sound that starts at 13:08 is just amazing, I like when the expression soundscape takes on its full meaning

a perfect length for an 1800', 7" reel at 7.5ips
It’s kind of fun listening to this at 2x speed after you listen to it on normal first :D
i've been looking into using tape for ambient synth music for a while, and your videos are so helpful and inspirational! thank you!

Thank you! I want to revisit this series but life has been so busy that I barely get time to sit down an listen, which this requires.

Absolutely loved this! Thank you
+FiveElementNinja thx for watching and taking the time to comment!
Excellent mix!
Thank you!
Thanks Hainbach :)
great as always :)
Thank you Jerry!
This is fantastic! I'm really curious how this works. How do you combine tapes with different scales / root? Pitch correction?
+cuba1956 thx! Selection of tapes and varispeed tape decks, as well as echoes, filtering and granular fx. Maybe another topic for a video...
Shot a video, will be up on Monday :-)
Hainbach Great! Looking forward.
Up now :-)
This is so good, thank you! Appreciate the mention too. :-)

Yeah, its kinda possessed that way. ;-)

Sure, go ahead! Its called "Hands on Ears" and is from the so far unreleased "Bruderkrieg" Soundtrack, so you can credit it.
Will you take black metal tape when I'm done with my EP?
Interesting idea! Black Metal and Dark Ambient mix well, so get in touch once its finished.
cant tell what is what. this is a good thing.
If I remember correctly (its all hazy as I get into a flow with theses mixes) your tape comes in at around 6:28
haha yes! i knew it! :)
That was my favourite bit of the mix. It sounds like some degraded, echoed memory of Says by Nils Frahm.
You've played with OP-1 too much when you clearly hear where's "Grid" effect is used.
+Doyoubi no Ame 😋 I did not use it. Maybe on one of the tables I played?

Ah, that is the Gotharman FX Deformer!
