I have both a white and a black carbon Advant X helmet (just did a 6,100 trip with this one). I thought the 360 was kind of geeky, but catches no wind, unlike my Neotec 2 with chin bar up. What a great helmet, cheap price makes it even better.
I bought the LS2 Valiant Three years ago and love it. No problems with it, and thankfully I haven’t had to put it to the ultimate test. My first White colored helmet, is cooler in the summer sun
@ I do find it noisy, but I think that’s partly because of being a Modular. I wear ear plugs and don’t listen to music. It’s well vented in the heat, but I don’t ride when it’s hotter than 80F. I wear a balaclava when it’s below 40F. The 180 degree flip-over chin bar is the best feature
ive had both the valiant and valiant II and even been unlucky enough to test them on the road. highside with the valiant, landed on head and shoulder. remained consious throughout and didnt even get so much as a headache. helmet held up quite well. second was a lowside with some head dragging. same deal, helmet and head held up well again. brilliant helmets. found the valiant II was quieter and had much better airflow and the sun shield came down further and provided much nicer wind and sun cover.
I absolutely LOVE my HJC 100i, and I prefer that helmet than my wife's Arai full face helemt, and I do like feeling like a Power Ranger, especially the drop down sunvisor CHP look when worn 3/4 style when riding in town. The heaviness doesn't bother me, in fact, I noticed that it helps me keep my head down when battling winds on my naked retro bike
@midlifemike4916 My wife says I look like I have a bobble head. Kinds reminds me of the Xbox Live Avatar days lol I like the heaviness because it helps keep my head down during high speed because I ride a retro naked, so no windshield
If the weight is the same on the advent x carbon and fiberglass why is it 100 dollars more . Isn’t the reason for carbon is for the weight advantage ? How is it possible it’s not lighter ?
Wrong. 1. The Carbon version (which I have) is 50gm lighter at 1550gm vs 1600gm for the size large. 2. Carbon fibre (for the same weight) is 2X the strength of fiberglass.
I bought the Advent X Carbon High Vis Yellow, Fantastic helmet but poor design thinking meant I had to reluctantly send it back as there was absolutely no way at all to mount my Sena 20S Evo onto it. There's a shaped lip on the bottom edge which flares out and the sunshade visor slider is in exactly the wrong position to allow fitting. :(
Yeah, I think they really wanted to push people into using the LS2 branded Cardo unit. Since I don't have a BT comms system, I decide to give one a whirl.
I just purchased an Advant-X they’re now 429.00 and I came from the shark. The shark main issue is parts, can’t get a replacement sunvisor, or main visor from anywhere. So the Advant-X won. The windshield is wider and it comes with a sofy bag, and a backpack bag. They also include the tinted shield as well. Presses a little hard on my forehead that’s why I switched from Evo one to a shark, but I probably just need to get used to this new one, and it has quick release shark doesn’t.
interesting you mention it presses hard on the forehead. I have left all the labels on one I have just bought and am still not committing as I notice a big difference between the advent x and the shark I currently use. the shark is far more comfortable forehead wise than the advent x which is a shame as everything else about the advent x is spot on and like you I will probably end up buying it and just hope it will wear in as not a great deal of choice when it comes to this type of helmet
They are very eyeglass wearer friendly. I put my Valiant on and off without removing my glasses, but I tried it the other way as well. On your glasses after you put on the helmet it has a very generous slot for your frames.
Loved my valiant 2, but after 30 minutes at both sides in the back of my head it was starting to hurt a lot!....So have to sell it and hope the Advant or Advent X has changed a bit so that it won't hurt anymore! I have a 57 cm head, so size m.
I had an HJC RPHA 70 and loved it but switched to the old LS2 Vallient but it was the wrong head shape so I went back to HJC with this i100 and it does not fit very well, I get a bit of a headache after about an hour and a half. Would this new LS2 Advent X fit better? Or maybe look at the Shark?
We recommend a snug fit with the chin curtain installed. Wind noise is subjective and can change depending on the helmet. Schuberth are known to have the quietest helmets.
The hinge (weak point) on these helmets are almost all right at the ears. So yes, all flip over modular helmets are louder than a traditional full face, and most 3/4 helmets. I’ve tried them all that are available in the USA.

Do you get the cardo set too?
Did u sizing up for ls2..?
If you can only have one helmet forever, which one would you select, Advant X or Neotec 2?

Wind gets in,cold,sounds?

interesting, I tour with a medium sized arai full face. I was thinking of buying a large hjc i100. I will try it out and see
My biggest gripe is that the i100 helmet is huge and heavy.

I know its's the European model, but the Scorpion Exo-Tech Evo is awesome!
Hey Layne, we're hoping that Scorpion brings that model to the States it would definitely be a contender for top ranking. -Schad
I second this, I just bought a brand new Exo-tech Evo, and I love it!
If the weight is the same on the advent x carbon and fiberglass why is it 100 dollars more . Isn’t the reason for carbon is for the weight advantage ? How is it possible it’s not lighter ?
While it is unfortunate that it weighs the same, you are paying extra for the carbon fiber shell.
Wrong.

That's a bummer.

Does the Advent and Advent X have a cheek pad kit for riders with glasses?
These helmets have slim cheek pad options. That should help with glasses compatibility.
They are very eyeglass wearer friendly. I put my Valiant on and off without removing my glasses, but I tried it the other way as well. On your glasses after you put on the helmet it has a very generous slot for your frames.

We do sell slimmer cheek pads and replacement liners for both Advant and Advant X helmets. We do have no cost returns so you can get the right fit.
How does the Advant X perform in the rain? Does water get inside the helmet?
I have not heard any issues from our customers in regards to this.
Have you taken a good look at the exo tech evo? How do you think it stacks up against advent x? Which one do you think is better? And why? Thanks
We have not seen that helmet since it is a European exclusive. Waiting for the US version. Not sure what it will be called.
Where are The best in world - Scorpion Exo Tech Evo / Carbon ? ? ? ?
The Scorpion Exo Tech Evo is a European exclusive helmet. Hence, why we did not potentially cover it in this video. Thanks for watching!
Shark was the same 15 years ago
please, which one has the greatest field of vision, specially sideways ? HJC or Advent X ? thank you
The Advant X.
This style of modular helmet has been great for some of us moto refs
The ROOF Boxxer is the only modular with style, but the LS2 Advant seems like a great helmet.
We really love the Advant X.
What's your head shape?
@@SpeedAddictsTV I think it is an Intermediate Oval.
Does the advant x have enough room for your chin? I have tried the Shark before and my chin touched the front guard.
Depends on your chin size.
Very curious to see the Advant with comms
LS2 has made some installation videos if you are curious.
which helmet here is able to fit a cardo freedom 4x or the Packtalk Edge?
You can install all those units on each of these helmets.
❤perfect review- subscribed 🎉 pls keep up 👍🏽
It would be useful to also mention kg equivalence, as that is what is used in most of the world.
We try to mention the weight in grams now.
Carbon: 1550gm
Fiberglass: 1600gm
Plastic (plain Advant): 1650gm
Why left out Airoh?
We do not sell Airoh helmets, so they did not make the cut.
Thank you for your reply!
Why did you leave out Nolan 120-1?
Like any top lists, it's just an opinion. We can't make everyone happy. Thanks for watching!
I've never worn a helmet before. I bought the LS2 and it's loud. I still have to wear ear plugs. Are all helmets like this, or is it just this helmet?
We recommend a snug fit with the chin curtain installed. Wind noise is subjective and can change depending on the helmet. Schuberth are known to have the quietest helmets.
My LS2 is louder than my non modular Arai defiant. Might be design dependent.
The hinge (weak point) on these helmets are almost all right at the ears. So yes, all flip over modular helmets are louder than a traditional full face, and most 3/4 helmets. I’ve tried them all that are available in the USA.
Presented with opinion.
Just present, and reduce what you think for the conclusion.
