I might do it again at some point, this was intended to only be mainline Mana titles, but the music is so good I might have to replay legend of mana
Just goes to show that gameplay is an important piece of the puzzle. You had plenty of good things to say about the game, but it falls flat where it's most important. I already have a hard time picking up games that require grinding for progression, and the level bring reset each chapter would have been enough to make me move on to another game. It's a shame because it looks like it had a lot of potential.
I feel Dawn of mana could soar with a remake that fixed its gameplay and progression systems
Play Legend of Mana guys for 2D and Trials of Mana for 3D

The game makes really bad gameplay decisions. It’s a shame because everything else is enjoyable.
The game looks beautiful but maaaan that progression and leveling system sounds so backwards.
It needs a remake BAD! It could be great, but some dang stupid design decisions lol

Same here its battles are the reason I'll never play it unless it got a REMAKE wtih either the upcoming Visions of Mana battle system or the one Trials of Mana had like 15 years ago.

Legend of Mana isn’t a mainline game my friend. It’s actually a spinoff. You’re right though, legend of mana is fantastic

It’s no Unlimited SaGa but it’s still pretty rough
I wanted to play this but... the gameplay is so slow and boring compare to Legend of Mana which is 2D that I'd rather play the remaster than playing this, because it's more fun.
Legend of Mana is fantastic. The gameplay is pretty bad in Dawn of Mana but I just love the music and visuals
