David this game gave me 7 tear jerks so far I'm on the last boss. The story is so beautiful. One of the best ever out of square Enix. I'm glad to experience it.
although it changes less than some later Final Fantasies, I was thinking of how different each entry tends to be. I really liked the gimmick of choosing your party at the start of the game from Visions of Mana, but I realize that kind of holds the storytelling back to some extent, while also probably being a lot more work, so I can see why it didn't carry over throughout the series(other than sometimes picking from 1 of 2 protags I don't remember it ever being done again?) Anyway, I am just beyond the prologue so too early to say, but I am def enjoying this one so far.
David my brother. I’m so proud of you for what you’ve accomplished with this channel. It has been my go-to for everything RPG for years now, long before 100K was on the horizon. Content is always solid, reliable, and entertaining. Your love for Ys and Mana are especially great to me. Wishing you continued success, and I loved the video!
It's actually a good game made with the same sensibilities JRPGs used to be made with. Has a very classic, larger scale, action RPG feel to it like Rogue Galaxy except more system resources to fill out the environment. I love it.
It’s amazing how much this series has evolved and it’s been going strong for decades! I haven’t played any Mana games yet but you’ve sold me on it king!
Wow those graphics are absolutely beautiful! The graphics remind me a lot of Granblue Fantasy: Relink. Imagine how sweet it would be if Square announced a Chrono Trigger remake next!
Got about 5 hours in (I'm up to where the demo starts, basically). I absolutely love it. As a long time Mana fan (Started with Secret of Mana on release and played everyone except Dawn, including the remakes. Most multiple times). This game is absolutely amazing and all I want to do is play more. I'm loving it almost as much as BG3, Unicorn Overlord, or Octopath Traveler 2. I'm loving the characters, story, world... just everything. I love exploring every nook and cranny. The fights are exciting fluid and there's some good challenge there. Also a huge plus is they're entirely optional 99% of the time. And there's just so many small yet simple systems that work seamlessly with each other to create, what I imagine in the endgame, a pretty complex character optimization.
I mean I think the worse issue is that we still don't have a proper translation of this game that doesn't eat 60% of the text and ake the story almost incomprehensible.
This is the first video I have ever seen from this dude and that was my exact reaction. It’s great that we live in an age where a dude can talk about a one of my favorite nostalgic RPGs while being surrounded by rainbows, and Kirbys and being so goddam jacked that I am inspired to go lift tomorrow.
I've adored these games since I first played Secret of Mana with two friends and multitap at a sleepover in 1994. When the translation dropped for Seiken Densetsu 3 I played through it over and over with all the class combinations (Ninja Master, Star Lancer, Sword Master, goat'd btw) only to do it all over again when the Trials remaster dropped. I could not be more excited for Visions and I'm glad for the three day weekend so I can really dig in. Thanks for the vid David, I love your channel.
Same man played that fan translation of SD3 for so many hours back in the day. There's just something magical & addictive about this series & I'm so glad we've finally got a new title that looks this good!
There's something so videogamey about this game that makes me feed happy warm and cozy inside The art direction is charming and the combat has some fun ideas Morle's combos are so cool
Man, I'm liking it so far. We just left the water captial and "that" event happened. Story doesn't have me "hooked" like FF16 nor is it combat as deep or engaging, but it definitely has my attention, the gameplay is *just* good enough to keep me engaged. So far, it's been a solid purchase! If I don't beat it before Dragon Age comes out, then it'll play 2nd fiddle but I'm excited to play some more.
I played final fantasy legends on the gameboy when they first came out, and then the both Secret and Trials of mana when they came out, loved them all. I had dropped off playing until this game came out, I played the Demo and haven’t turned back, I’m so excited for this game, I cannot wait to get lost in this world.
This game sounds AMAZING! I hope people support it. I have it preordered from Play-Asia, so I'll be playing in a week or so. It just looks so gorgeous and it's a very high effort sequel for something that's not Final Fantasy. Reminds me of the golden age of SE gaming. Love it.

The reviews seem to be all over the place so naturally I went to you as my trusted jrpg review source :). I’ll give it a try. Never played mana game so looking forward to giving it a try.
I played the demo and though I liked it, I thought there were too many things to know, that they didn’t tell you in the demo. So I thought I’d pass on buying it, and get it down the line sometime. But, I couldn’t wait, so I bought it, and am happy it introduces everything to you a little at a time, instead of all at once. I can’t put it down now. 🥰🥰
Hello my favourite RPG Muscle Man, I agree wholeheartedly. I'm just loving Visions of Mana so much more than I expected to, the full game has been absolutely even better than I expected after I played the demo.
My son called me from home after school and said i had a package that he thought was a video game. Opened it and saw VoM, and told me “dad i dont care about this game” Might not be my son after all 😂
Welcome back square enix, weve missed you. Have we ever had this many quality of jrpgs in 1 single year? Even going back to ps1 i cant remember having this many in 1 year. Rebirth, trials of mana, ys x, Metaphor, granblue.. thats nuts.
I’ve been playing! It’s super magical, and takes me back to when I first played dragon quest 8. Despite it being an action rpg and not turn based, the magic is there.
Been playing it today. I got to say seeing the ring come up for items in the first stages was amazing. No offence to Heroes of mana, Dawn of Mana, and Legend of Mana. But this is the first real Mana game i've played in a while. It's great to see Seiken Densetsu 3, Trials of Mana made Square make the game we all wanted.
Played about six hours so far. Only just got past meeting Sylphid because I have so much fun searching around all the maps for whatever secrets I can find. 20 hours in. Really enjoying it. There is quite a bit that I’m not fond of but I like it far more than I don’t. That being said I don’t like the saying “Mana is back” it’s been back. We’ve had two great remakes. Trials is probably the greatest remake ever made and the Mana series never had a game as polished as that.
Mana series is cozy af Started with Trials remake and was hooked. This one is going to have me playing alot with the class system, one of my favorite mechanics in RPGs. Visions looks like its going to be a timeless adventure, Im thinking this is my holiday weekend game im about to binge play haha.
Definitely getting Grandia II, Final Fantasy X, Tales of Symphonia and I am Setsuna vibes from that story premise, but I ain’t mad. This looks like a good time
I no lifed the game and beat it in 2 sittings lmao. Will do the post game tomorrow. Seiken Densetsu 3 was one of my all time favorite rpgs growing up so it’s crazy seeing a real sequel this many years later

I have to be honest when I played the demo. I didn’t enjoy it. I felt like there was just minor frame stuttering that for some reason really bothered me that being said I literally was blown away by how gorgeous the game is and figuring it was just a demo and the real release would be polished off. I bought the game. I am here to say goddamn I was right lol This game is one of those games and enjoy the relaxing gameplay and beautiful visual world that you are in. Great review!
I didn't start this series 'till the Trials remake. Which I thought was good, not FF3 amazing, but above average. It juat passed me by as a kid. Kinda fell out of love with the JRPG genre for a while. The stories get a little redundant, and the one-note characters get grating to me. Was all fine and dandy when I was like 5 years old and played Breath of Fire for the first time, but hearing the morally black and white "friendship" speech for the 3000th time in your 30s kinda sucks, hahah. PLAYING NOW!!! And you were not kiddin about it being a grown up story - in that it starts (minor spoiler) pretty sad! I'm just lost in the whole relaxing vibe of the game. I do still miss the dodge roll from Trials tho...
All of these videos just make more even sadder that I can’t play this on the switch but ever more hopeful that it will be released on the Switch2. I will most definitely get the collector’s edition… assuming they do one for it at that time just like what is currently available.
After seeing the PS5 Pro showcase I finally decided to buy the regular PS5 Slim, and after trying the demo for Visions of Mana on steam the first channel I thought about for this game was yours (also super derek and happy console game but I came here first 😄). Now I'm just making some math to see if I have the money left for this game this month or I'll have to wait a bit. At least I already know my purchase won't impact whatever happens to the studio since it has been unfortunately axed... I hope SquareEnix picks up its pieces.
Conpare with Trials of Mana, the starts really less exciting because I love the iconic music where we start after delecting the 3 characters but the story progression in Vision is getting intriguing the longer I play
I pre-ordered and Amazon delivered my package, but it was a BOOK NOT THE GAME. And no store near me had a physical copy so now I need to wait until tomorrow!!!!
I bought it physical from GameStop for the steelbook for PS5. I am more scared that the game came in a crowded period. Will sales satisfy square. No switch version too.

Yea that decision baffled me. I figured the switch would be the one system this game would launch on.

PLAYING NOW!!! And you were not kiddin about it being a grown up story - in that it starts (minor spoiler) pretty sad! I'm just lost in the whole relaxing vibe of the game. I do still miss the dodge roll from Trials tho...
I’m playing visions of mana right now 😊
Grabbed a physical copy ❤
I’m loving it so far
My collectors edition arrives today yay
The elementals remind me of Golden Sun classes. Good times.
Got it pre installed, waiting for me to get home from the office. Uuuuugh.
I pre-ordered and Amazon delivered my package, but it was a BOOK NOT THE GAME. And no store near me had a physical copy so now I need to wait until tomorrow!!!!
you convinced me ..downloading now...been looking for a new jrpg
Man this game looks fun!
Does it have Denuvo?
Also, when will they make a Mana game with online co-op. That's a strange thing not to have in a modern game.
Good morning daddy!!! I’m so excited to play Visions of Mana today ❤❤❤
I love the visuals of every Mana game and the combat of Trials of Mana remake and Visions. I really disliked the party banter in the Visions demo.
I bought it physical from GameStop for the steelbook for PS5. I am more scared that the game came in a crowded period. Will sales satisfy square. No switch version too.
Trails or mana and secret of mana hands down the best in the series.
i have been, and im enjoying tf out of it
its ff10, but multiple alms and one soul guardian, vs many guardians and 1 smn
Not even going to watch the video. your approval in the subject title is all I need. Can't wait to play
