    Nothing wrong with his voice, and this video's great for a lot of more important reasons if you know the history of Brian Wilson and the importance of this song in his life, the story of "Don't Worry Baby" and Ronnie Spector finally covering it 34 years after the fact. Everything about this makes me smile.

      @@CALVINLNIKONT not really , Brian has never been a great live singer even back in the '60's when he had a beautiful voice. Any way, it's not perfect but if you've heard Brian's other vocals from the late '70's and '80's you'd think this was ok as well. You'd probably knock Beethoven's piano playing after he went deaf as well.

      not true, there are many side to the story, Brian loves music for the sake of music but also loves having hit records, Mike would rather have a hit record and remain popular. There was a struggle between Brian and Mike after 1966 but they were still close. Mike always wanted to collaborate with Brian so he could make money from the songs Brian wanted to write with other people. There was the issue of Mike getting screwed out of royalties by Brian's father, who controlled the publishing. We all know what happened: upon bad legal advice Brian went to court and lost big time. Mike was entitled to quite a few song credits but overreached in court and got more credit then he was entitled to, example: Wouldn't it be Nice Mike says he wrote the tag "Sleep tight", well now he has label credit along with Brian and Tony Asher. Tony Asher thought it was bullshit but didn't want to get involved in the fight. That's just one example.

      @@gerrydooley951 Gerry, that's not true. Brian's already involved in a lawsuit, suing the lawyer who represented him in that court fight. Mike Love is on record record publicly stating that Brian wrote all songs.
      1964: See The Beach Boys live in concert album. Mike introduces graduation day by saying this "This next song is by a group of guys inspirational to our careers because they influence Brian Wilson and his writings. Their group is the 4 freshmen and their song is graduation day."
      Mike did not say they influence Brian and MY writings. He specifically said they influence Brian Wilson and HIS writings.
      1976: The ill fated Brian is back tour. In Anaheim California Mike introduces Brian and he says "I want to introduce you to someone who doesn't travel with us very much but hes here today. His name is Brian Wilson and he is the reason why we're here, musically, PERIOD.
      Mike did not say Brian and I am the reason why we are here musically.
      1983: The Beach Boys are playing in the Kingdome after a Seattle Mariners game. They sang 28 songs, 25 of which were originals. During the instrumental on Good Vibrations Mike walked over to Brian who was sitting at the piano and said "I want to introduce you to the man who wrote 90% of all the songs we sang here today. This is Brian Wilson."
      In 1964, 1976, and 1983 Mike had those 3 occasions to claim credit for cowriting songs with Brian. He never did.
      Brian had many collaborators during his years with The Beach Boys. He gave credit to Gary Usher for a cowriting In My Room. He gave co writing credits to Roger Christian for writing all the car songs. Brian gave co writing credits to Bob Norberg for Lonely Sea and other early songs.
      Brian also gave cowriting credits to Mike , where it was due, on songs such as the warmth of the sun, and a few others
      Brian was not against giving co writing credits to those who deserved it. The fact of the matter is Mike, who is so money hungry, never once complained about not getting money for 40 years. Then, when Brian wins 22 million dollars in a lawsuit against Capitol, all of a sudden Mike claims he co wrote or wrote 75 beach boy songs.
      Why is it from 1962 to 1994 Mike never brought up cowriting credits to Brian? It was only after Brian got money that Mike decided all of a sudden was a co writer.

    • @gerrydooley951
      @gerrydooley951 2 года назад

      @@whiteandright1958 I stand by what I said based on years of research. The success of Kokomo emboldened Mike to believe that he didn't need Brian anymore to create a hit song so he also felt that it was a good time to go after Brian regarding royalties. To me what Mike says during a concert appearance doesn't mean anything, it's just showmanship. Something else, in 1969 Murry sold the publishing which would eventually cost Brian millions of dollars. When that happened , Mike thought his chances of getting any money were lost, when Brian sued in the late '80's Mike saw his opportunity and took it. He was entitled, but I believe he overreached and won big time. Originally Mike wanted to settle out of court for $750,000, Brian's lawyers said no, they went to court and Mike got 5 mil plus song credits and the belief that he was as important to the BB's as Brian, thus you have the birth of the "Frankenlove" monster.
