RIP Jeff. Thank you for helping keep the Beach Boys' music and legacy alive
Oh man, just found out. What sad news.
@@jomsShootshe was a treasure.
Beach boys without Brian is. Like bread without butter
Mjh7178
Jeff was awesome. RIP
@@user-dr1zo8og7x I agree
How easily he sings those difficult notes😢 priceless
Jeffrey Foskett, your beautiful voice will be sorely missed. Time now to sing for the angels.
take a listen to susan cowsill's terrific version of this song! she is sister of john cowsill who has been the drummer for the beach boys for nearly 25 years up until recently!!
I'm 70 years old and I love these beautiful songs forever. Sweet memories. ❤
RIP Jeff Foskett, the man providing the falsettos in this Beach Boys live performance who just passed away today at the age of 67. 😥
Same at 70 🙏
Jeff Foskett’s voice perfectly fit on this song.❤
Jeffrey Foskett - simply one of The BEST, and an important figure in The Beach Boys' legacy. You inspired SO many and will be missed dearly. Your lead, and what this song makes people feel combined - tears, man.
This was the prettiest song they ever recorded.
You Know It !
Completely agree
Absolutely. My favorite BB song
Love it but search Lorrie Morgan and the BB singing it…AWESOME
Agreed
Just one of Brian's many masterpieces. A true musical genius.
With all due respect (and I love their music) Brian is NOT a musical genius. Like Billy Joel , Stevie Wonder,
Paul McCartney and Elton John they write pop music. Usually for vocals, guitar and keyboards. All very gifted and talented, but not geniuses. Men like a Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Handel, Schumann, Haydn, Vivaldi, etc. were truly brilliant. They wrote operas, orchestral music, string quartets, choral music and more. They wrote for every instrument and without the benefit if any technology. No ability to playback or vocal enhancement! Just ponder that. BTY, Much if Brian’s chords and progressions were directly lifted from the Four Freshmen a great vocal quartet fro the 1950’s.
@@denniselber9195 Well Denny boy, that's simply your unsolicited opinion. I'm not the only one who has said that. Many musicians that I respect, and have succeeded in the music biz, have said it. Every lick, lyric, chord and progression has been played by someone somewhere. It's ALL passed on. It's not just Brian Wilson and the 4 Freshman, Mr. "God's gift to interpreting who's a genius in the music world". Give me a fking break you douche! Tell your bullshit to producer Don Was. You know who that is, don't you? Besides, who in the fk asked you? When I want your advice I'll contact you, so stay out of my posts. I don't like YOU and don't want to be penpals. So, STFU! Now, here's my unsolicited opinion you should always remember. Don't start any unnecessary shit and there won't be any. Shoo fly!
@@Gordonsmusic911 Well said. If Brian wanted to compose classical music I think he could.
@@denniselber9195 I think your opinion about Brian Wilson is very much in the minority, especially amongst musicians whose opinions actually matter.
@@dzfz2100 I’ve Ben a big fan if Brian Wilson since 1963 and love his music. I think he writes great melodies. There is no question however, that he lifted a lot if his chordal structures fro the Four Freshman a fifties Vick group. Brian us an extremely talented guy. He is not.a studio level pianist or bass player. My point was the term “genius” is employed entirely too much and nit necessarily accurate. Bach, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Mozart , Handel May have been geniuses. They wrote for orchestras, string quartets, chamber music, operas and small and large chiral groups, all without the benefit of modern technology or even the ability to record and play back. No vocal enhancements or over dubbing. By the way, I’m a classically trained musician with an honors degree in music. I’ve done lots of studio work and commercials. We still live a free country and I don’t need anyone’s permission to give an informed opinion, We all have that right, What are your musical credentials?
I was fortunate to have met Jeffrey Foskett . Extremely humble and talented person who actually was Brian Wilson’s musical director. RIP my musical brother. You will be sorely missed…🙏
One of the FINEST songs in history
I agree, the melody plays all over and the vocal harmonys well...
That’s what Paul McCartney believes
Oldest brother, Brian Wilson, is still going strong! I grew up with The Beach Boys in the 1960s! They were my favorite band back then.
when this was a new song, I used to play it over the loudspeaker at the public pool where I worked. I still to this day have people thanking me for playing the great soundtrack as part of their summer time experiences.
R.I.P. Jeffrey Foskett
The Beach Boys was the first concert I ever went to. My brother and I saw them at the Hollywood Bowl 1965. Have never stopped loving their music.
When I feel stressed out, I listen to this song and magically, things feel ok ❤️
Me to
I absolutely love this one. Takes me back to the 60s in Cardiff, met my husband in 1969 dancing to songs like this. Been married 50 years this year omg can't believe it.
My favourites are God Only Knows, California Girls, Don't Worry Baby, Surfin USA
Yes its very soothing 😌
This music is timeless, it will never die.
I Couldn't have said it better than that.
Brian and the Beach Boys are an American gift to the entire world. This jam packed show in Japan!#%&! is proof of that fact.
They were amazing, grew up with these guys, i’m 70 years old and still loving it!!!!!!!
Unfortunately, time kills all music even the Beachboys. Who listens to Gershwin or Handel anymore except for a select few. How many radio stations can you find either of these aforementioned greats on. Few if any. Ask a 16 year old if they even heard of Gershwin. Sorry but the Beachboys will also disappear into obscurity just like all of their predecessors. What happened to the Dorsey brothers and all the great vocalists from the 30s and 40s? Where can you hear them?
They said the same thing about Gershwin. Don’t delude yourself!
Who is watching this beatifull song in 2020? Thats me...
YO, Y NO ME CANSO DE VERLA!!!
Me too.Beautiful song!!! Tampoco me canso de verla
Love the Beach Boys so much . Been enjoying them ever since they Started. Different Music , I Love Carl’s Voice .. 💞💕
me too.
Im from Indonesia far away...but your song is soo close to me
The man who saved the Beach Boys! R.I.P.
Timeless 😢 i am 19 and love Brian and the Beach Boys. I will make sure to share their music with my children. The Beach Boys will never be forgotten!
The music has a timeless quality. Like all fine art.
Thanks Jeff. Kept the Sound alive after Brian. Beautiful falsetto
It’s amazing that they still sound great even without their greatest vocalist, the infinitely late great Carl Wilson!
Love it.
Agreed. But Carl didn't originally have a lead vocal role in this tune, mostly Brian.
Brian Wilson did lead on this
brian wilson is the master mind behind the beach boys . but Carl wilson was great
Amen. Without Carl it just doesn't work for me. And Brian looks bad here.
Good job for Jeff singing in Brian's style, respecting the Beach Boys legacy and also for Bruce having strong vocals on this song too!
Jeff is utterly fantastic here. Just phenomenal
Jeff nailed it on this one. His vocals are off the chart.
One of the best songs ever from the Beach Boys. I was born in 1946 and grew up with the most beautiful music ever for teenagers. I am not religious, but thanks God I was born in that year.
I read somewhere that Brian had written for Ronnie Spector (Bennett) in mind
Ohhhh, we were so fortunate to grow up with these groups and their music!
For sure
BIG TIME!!!
You are so right the beach boys are timeless, they make me feel young and happy
Oh yes " very lucky. Post war boomers. Pack me up and send me back to 1959.
You got that right! I am soooo happy to be a baby boomer!!! And the Beach Boys were one of my first loves!!!
This is one of my favorite songs by Brian Wilson who is a musical genius. Also, Jeffrey Foskett is a fantastic singer on this great live version.
Great job but Jeff really comes thru on lead vocals.
Great music.LIFES GOOD
He sounds just like Brian.
I've been listening to this song for years and still get goosebumps to this day.
same here
Jeff is just great. He keeps the vocals alive and well.
That’s Brian Wilson on the keyboards. Sad to see him not singing the lead. He really had his troubles in this life. We had the same troubles but at a much lower pay grade. Funny not funny. Best harmonies in the music industry.
Jeff Foskett nails the lead vocals! He emulates Brian W.
Outstanding job! And you're right... He gets closer to Brian's vocals than anyone I've ever heard!
With all due respect to you, this guy stinks and has trouble holding that high note. Flat, bland rendition nowhere near Brian.
Foskett saved brian and the band.
Keith Moore I was hoping that wasn't Matt Jardine singing lead. He really went downhill fast if that was him. Looked kind of like him.
@@wizard9403 fuck off you're not Beach Boys fans
I grew up listening to The Beach Boys as they have been around for well over 50 years. I loved all their songs and still sing to myself many of their songs today. Man, it is a Bitch Getting Old.
Yeah, but just think of all the old memories and good times we had in Jr. High and high school listening to these on our AM radios and playing 45's on our "record players"!
Al jardine, mike love and session musians , are not the beach boys.its a farce, I would not pay to see them, they are not the real thing.
Sucks big time being old! I cant believe I spend most of my time looking back instead of doing now or any big plans in the future except dying. Lol
@@frankverd2808 Brian Wilson is on stage He is the original singer
One of the greatest bands in history brilliant harmonising timeless music long may they play for every generation before and after
All Jardine’s sons have awesome voices!❤️
Wow. Still brings me to tears. Great singing all 'round.
A tear fell from my eye...and I'm a guy.
I love the lead singer’s voice!!!! The Beach Boys were popular when I was in high school. We had the best music of the century!!!!❤️
Yes we did and somehow knew it
any century.....
Great vocals by Jeff, we can hear Brian backing and Bruce's vocals are so perfect!
Jeff Foskett has a magic voice .. would love to see more of him featured
ありがとうジェフリー。名曲と共に安らかに
Great version. Billy Joel does a live version in a Brian Wilson tribute....absolutely awesome !
Jeff Foskett sings lead on this one and Brian Wilson does back up. You can hear Brian's voice. Jeff also does the higher notes on the other songs where its difficult for Brian to do. Its always seemless. Its just great to hear these songs by the surviving members of the Beach Boys 50 + years in. I think its selfless of Brian to let his friend Jeff help with the vocals to keep it sounding reasonably fresh. Great song!
Yeah, and Jeff was so thankful that he jumped ship to ML's cover band.
Rob Watkins Very well put! I agree totally.
@Scott Grudziadz And Jeff is not doing well.
At the Beach Boys heyday Brian did not perform live though he did perform on the recordings,
@@stuartperry8141 He did through 1965 and sporadically in the 1970's and fairly regularly through 1985, then was quite scarce on a live stage after that.
ONLY TO SEE!!!!!!!!! BRIAN ON STAGE SATISFYS MY HEART
Nice to see David back in the band after decades - Jeff is amazing on the tenor lrad, and so is John Cowsill on drums (a really talented drummer indeed). I just feels right, after all the tragedy, to see David come back, and I hope he's healthy again. God bless these lads, for all of the pure enjoyment they've given us.
Brian Wilson was at the keyboards. I wish he would've sang this since he was the original singer of this beautiful song.
I'm sure he would have if he could still hit those high notes.
He cant sweetie.
What a drag it is getting old.
I'm just glad he's still around
Sadly Brian can’t sing anymore.
Nice old times. Music was music.
How lovely! Still as good as in 1964, when I first loved it.
This Never gets old😎😁
Hahah Brian chilling singing when he wants. Love him so much
Great music lives on - - Feb 13, 2020
Outstanding harmony. Grew up loving these guys. :)
Right … we're all getting older, but this sounds as good as ever. And yes, Jeffrey Foskett is a great lead singer !
Oh man did Jeffrey nail Brian's part...with Brian sitting just feet away...great version
The sincerity of the lyrics and the melody of this is so beautiful. ❤
Fantastic and the big genius on the piano keep well Brian they don't come around like you anymore.
I'm thinkin' it left something in your heart that will NEVER be "gone."
It's so very awesome and amazing how much they are loved around the world still. What a blessing to have seen these guys live.
Dang, they sound so good after all these years. Music....
Excellent lead singing
The Beach Boys will be singing & Swinging
when they are 100 yrs old I love them. 😃
Well, I can close my eyes and dream while I listen to this beautiful song that comes from the soul. Thanks for releasing it.
What a beautiful song still love it after all the years still got the memories ❤️
Timeless 2020👏
Jeffrey Foskett on lead vocals. MAGNIFICENT!
He has the sound. Does them justice IMO.
classie60 h
2022 still watching this beautiful song I saw The Beach Boys back in the 80s before we lost Dennis and Carl and it was the best concert I ever went to!!! RIP Dennis and Carl your missed so much
edit: jeff foskett just had such an amazing voice 😢
I started listening to them from the start. JUST amazing.
richardcvlr5 wait till you hear Brian’s pet sounds album. Spurred a friendly competition with Lennon .
HAVE IT ON VINYL. MUST AGREE GREAT ALBUM.
this was the first music that I remember listening to as a baby when my brain started to develope . im 43 now and I always loved the beach boys
Jeff did a great job as always!
What can you say great song fantastic live rendition, don`t forget these guys ain`t getting younger, im 68 and was bought up in my teens to these sounds.
Rip Jeff ! Long live your voice !!
Saw them this year 2016 and still sounds so good! Thanks Beach Boys for such great music and sound!
Did you see Brian or Mike's band?
+DAM FLA mike's
And they would bring out so many great bands. Beach Boys are in the top 5 groups of all time
❤️ Beach Boys 🥰 💖 this song 💘 It's so beautiful ❤️
I'm just so glad I grew up with music.
Jeff Foskett is also a tremendous guitarist.
Simply great songs which have stood the test of time. What a legacy Brian Wilson will leave behind him!!
The lead vocal is superb! Cheers.
Brian Wilson still had a heavenly voice at this time. Sublime
Such genius musicians they are still ... Love it ;-)
Aching nostalgia for better times
If you were around at the time this music was magical, and still is ,
Beach Boys for ever
The BBs exemplify the absolute best in the majors elements if music: great musicianship, lead vocals, rhythm, and harmony
I was in my teen age when this music was very popular it bring back memories thanks 🙏❤️🌹🌷💐🌺
Still as awesome as when I was in the 8th grade and played this on my parents 8-track tape player for all my cheerleading gal pals!!!!!🎶🎶🎶👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🔥🔥🔥💗💗💗😂😂😂
This is really a gem! It's beautiful. Thanks for posting it.
I am only 28 years old but I just love the Beach Boys so much. I love
all the oldies from the 50s and 60s. Today's "music" sucks so much. Why
can't music be good like it was back then? Nowadays its just all
autotuned bullshit, or some rapper talking about his "bitches, hoes,
money, bling bling, weed, going to duh club, drinkin forties." God I
hate this generation today.
You're right! I myself am 13 but I like The Beatles, Elvis, Roy Orbison, and a whole lot more that doesn't involve new music!
We really had some great musicians in the 1950's and 60's and 70's!
I agree with you, tynerd!
Yeah, you're right!
I'm 30 and couldn't agree more. I'd rather listen to music from the 60's, 70's, 80's than "hit" garbage like Lil' Wayne, Nicki Minaj, etc. Music back in our parents day was legit music from the soul.
Oh my heart is happy! Been a true blue fan since the early days! God bless✌️💕
Me too
The Beach Boys are the best band of all time!!!
Just a perfect rendition by a wonderfully talented musician and singer - RIP Jeffery, you are, and will remain, sorely missed by all BB fans
You know, I was born in 1997, India where I think less than 1% of the people even listened to foreign songs. When people here were barely even capable of getting a Black/White TV, people in the west were already enjoying color TVs from the 50's !!! That much how we were separated from West. Today, I got to know about this song from watching "Never Been Kissed (1999) which is my 2nd Beach Boys song, the 1st one was Darlin which I heard 3 years ago. My point is after around 16-17 years of my life, I'm discovering these songs which just makes me jealous of the people who heard it live or who heard it around them at the beach, parties, proms and stuff during their childhood singing, dancing and enjoying making this song a memorable part of their life. Cheers to you all who heard it in the past and those who didn't, lets just enjoy this song now and spread it because as of till date many people even don't know about this band, The Beach Boys.
This song is fantastic best sound I've heard by beach boys.
My favorite Beach Boys song. It brings back so many memories.
A pleasure to listen to this song one of my favs guys voice is amazing!
So nice David Marks got to reunite with them for this tour.
I agree there.
They’re all up there but their age really shows in this video. Technology and young talented musicians behind them are providing the sound. I’m taking nothing away from The Beach Boys. Great songs, accomplishments and their music stays young forever. This looks like the Old people’s home show.
Love, love this song and the Beach Boys forever!
Perfektno. Volim slušati dobru muziku, ritam i pjevanje. Dečki pjevaju fenomenalno. Uživancija za slušati.
Fala youtubu i ko ga je izmislil da i mi sirotinja možemo uživati u svijetskoj muziki.
Too awesome!!!
Their harmony abilities are just another level of magic!
What can you say, amazing. I'm 74 and been along for the ride since the 60s.
April 2022. Been loving them since forever!!!!!!
