I mean, from what I've understood so far, it seems that adopting an anamorphic Lens creates a lot of contraints sphericals haven't. Hence if I envisage one day to buy one, I think m'y main motivation would be to generate as much flare as possible, during sunny days or at night. Am I wrong ? Thanks for tout advice
such an excellent use of the 50mm. I've had trouble finding uses for the 50 as it requires you to be so far away from the subject for a lot of shots, but you used this lens very well

Thank you! I think Sirui 35mm will not give the same effect as Sirui 50mm. focal length plays a big role. with 50mm a very beautiful background and thanks to the anamorphic properties you get more width information than with a regular 50mm lens.
@@RomanHense I realize that. I use 50mm almost exclusively for 35mm film still photography and it's my preference. I'm seeing these lenses discounted from my usual source (most especially the 35), and pondering two focal lengths. 35 and 75...or 24 and 50. I have no experience with any anamorphic lens, and with the m4/3 crop factor just not sure what would be best. I guess I'll just make a decision and dive in. At these prices it's worth the trial. I may also pick up the tt 17, I see you have some videos with that.

Hi roman, your color grading always outstanding for me. There is no “too bright” even when you shoot outdoors footage under abundant sunlight. did you use ND filter or something to handle the light? Could you make a tutorial video, how to color grading like you? Thank you, i hope you answer it🙏🏾
hey! Thank you! yes, I use an ND filter and always try to shoot without overexposure. For exposure control I use zebra and make sure there are no zebra stripes.

I shot with the 50mm sirui on a bmpcc4k and the footage came out looking too squat once it was de squeezed - im messing around with settings but i was wondering what settings you landed on to deal with the crop of the bmpcc4k + squeeze of the sirui 50mm + aspect ratio, crop. Etc.

I have two questions if you have the chance to answer, 1-Will my footage look similar to the 50Sirui that you are using if I purchase a BMPCC4k 2-Have you had a chance to use the Vazen 40mm? hi! unfortunately I have never used a Vazen lens so I cannot answer your question. For an anamorphic look, you need to use an anamorphic lens, that's all I can say. I have never used the GH5, so unfortunately I can't help it again. I didn't crop.
I had a case once, I was shooting and could not understand why my image is not so sharp. it turned out that the lens was covered with micro droplets due to humid air. did you check the glass? because SIRUI is quite a sharp lens.
@@RomanHense I could definitely give it a clean and look. About a year ago it rolled off an uneven table and hit the floor too - so I wonder if that had an effect!

I don’t shoot in anamorphic. Always in 4k 4096x2160.

Awesome stuff! Love the color grade! One question - did you upscale the footage to 5k? Because as far as I know the bmpcc 4k can't record in 5k.
