- Al Ula or Madain Shale is the city of the Prophet Saleh. It is a cursed town. The oldest and the most forbidden cities in Saudi Arabia. The prophet Muhammad himself avoided the places with curse and instructed His Companions to move fast from those places. Al Ula was neglected for centuries, and despite efforts by the Saudi government to promote it as a tourist attraction. Madain Saleh literally means “Cities of Saleh” after the pre-Islamic Prophet Saleh. God cursed the area to destroy the Thamuds for their cruelty and idol worshipping. All were destroyed before they realized what was happening. As for the people who believed in the message of Saleh (PBUH), they were saved because they had left the place.

I am not Muslim and forgive me if I have no right to comment but if your prophet said it was cursed and not to go there I am sure he knew why and was warning many, it was probably the ancient sites of the fallen, I have no particular religion I follow but I do respect others teachings and I have heard from a source that ALL the false leaders of this world who don’t obey the ancestors wishes and ALL the evil leaders will pay ten thousand fold for their cruel materialism and they will be punished very severely, I pray that many can come out of these positions of power over the people and give away their wealth and reject the things of the world before the great and terrible day of the lord comes, it is coming very soon all good people should pray they are counted worthy these leaders are of the devil and will drag many with them to a punishment they can’t imagine! What Allah (SWT)warn his people to not do has an effect. We will see what will happen to them. Allah forbidden what is harmful to humankind but humankind Will not listen anything. when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) passed though al-Hijr - which was where the houses of Thamood were - he said: “Do not enter the dwellings of those who wronged themselves unless you are weeping, lest there befall you something like that which befell them.” Then he covered his head and urged his mount to move on quickly until he left the place behind.
Narrated by al-Bukhaari (3200) and Muslim (2980).
Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allaah have mercy on him) said, whilst listing the lessons and rulings learned from the campaign to Tabook:
One who passes by the places of those who were subjected to divine wrath or who were punished should not enter them or stay among them, rather he should hasten to move on and should cover his head with his garment until he has passed them, and he should not enter upon them unless he is weeping and willing to learn a lesson. An example of this is when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) hastened to move on in the valley of Muhsir, between Mina and Muzdalifah, because it was the place where Allaah destroyed the elephant and its companions.

The prophet Muhammad PBUH never said not to visit this lands, we can visit this but there are certain conditions that we must follow before we enter the area. And that is we will not come there to enjoy the view but rather we should come there in remembrance of Allah SWT wrath and pusnishment for trangnsgressing to his prophets and commandments. We should remember that allah is most gracious and the most merciful but dont forget that he is also severe in punishments. We must not forget that to Allah SWT nothing is impossible,if its easy for him to destroy one community or two imagine how it is easier for him to destroy you. So be cautious of Allah's wrath, be sure to earn his pleasure rather thn his wrath!!!
My ustad told us that even women cannot enter on that place because it is cursed. The ones who died there was punished after they disobeyed what their prophet's said. If I'm not mistaken, they killed the camel (i forgot the animal)? In order to hoard the water since they were in the desert. After they killed the animal, the prophet Saleh(A.S.) prayed that his people may face the punishment and yeah... They faced the punishment and they died because of beheaded by the wind. The only survivor of that clan is 1 man who was at masjid. As soon as that man went outside of masjid he died because of beheaded by the wind. Also, i think some of people there were gays and that's why they Received their punishment. The prophet Mohammad(S.A.W.) warned us to not go near there nor eat/drink there. Since it's a cursed place where the sinners was there. I'm surprised that it became a tourist spot.
I guess Allah(SWT) have to teach them a lesson again. I think this time it would be even bigger than a wind.
Both men and women have been instructed to stay away from such places.

I visited Madain Saleh with my family a few years back when I was a child, I didn't know it was forbidden/cursed to go there, I feel terrible now and I hope Allah can forgive my family and I. The hadith were compiled 200 years after the prophet peace be upon him. This does not mean that most of them had not already been written down in seperate manuscripts. All It means is that many of the authentic hadith were gathered in to a single book. We know for a fact that some of the companions of the prophet peace be upon him wrote hadith down. We also know for a fact that abu hurairahs students would write down hadith. So what you have said about hadith not being written down is absolute nonesense.
I have already explained to you the rulings regarding the rituals of hajj, salah, etc can not be known except through the hadith. With out the authentic hadith you would not know how to implement the Quran.
I couldnt care less about hindus and jews i am neither and have nothing to do with them. We are not discussing hindus and jews we are discussing Islam. And as muslims we have been commanded by Allah to obey Allah and his messenger and part of obeying Allah's messenger peace be upon him is to believe in the authentic hadith which have been verified by the same people who passed down the Quran. How exactly can you say the Quran is authentic but the sahih hadith are not? The same people through whom Allah preserved the Quran are the same ones who narrated the hadith wrote them down and memorised them.

1) Of course the early muslims prayed and performed hajj what is your point? The prophet sallahu alayhi wasalam taught the companions how to pray and perform hajj etc and then they taught other people and thats how the knowledge was taught. Is that not exactly what a hadith is? The companions mentioning what they saw the prophet sallahu alayhi wasalam doing? How exactly do you think the knowledge regarding all of it was passed down except through hadith through reliable truthworthy narrators. But according to you seeing as hadith are not reliable and should not be followed. Well then no one should be praying or performing hajj either because the rituals of all of it is based on narrations from people who saw the prophet sallahu alayhi wasalam praying and then taught it. See how your argument falls apart

So now you've started making up your own tafsir of the Quran with out any authority?
The command to obey Allah and his messenger is for every muslim for all time. It is not only limited to a certain time. The example of the prophet sallahu alayhi wasalam is the best example to be followed. Therefore obediance to Allah and his messenger is required in order to follow his example. How exactly can you claim to follow the example of the prophet sallahu alayhi wasalam if you're not following his example which can only be known through the authentic hadith narrated by the same people who taught others about the rituals of salah, hajj etc. So you take some knowledge that was narrated through hadith yet discard other knowledge which was narrated by the same people. That makes absolutely no sense.

The deen is easy to follow. You keep mentioning shias have you actualy looked in to the the beliefs of the shia and how they hate most of the companions of the prophet sallahu alayhi wasalam. Any one but a fool would know straight away that the shia are not upon the Quran and sunnah. How can the shia insult the wives of the prophet sallahu alayhi wasalam whom Allah has stated that they are the mothers of the believers and yet the shia think there is nothing wrong with this. This point alone shows they are not following the way of the prophet peace be upon him and so we take nothing in terms of knowledge from the shia. Those who truly loved Allah and his messenger peace be upon him the most ie his companions preserved the knowledge which the prophet taught them and then taught it to others who loved Allah and his messenger and this is how the knowledge was passed on. By trutstworthy people who loved Allah and his messenger peace be upon him.

The hadith have not caused any division. Stop blaming hadith for people wanting to follow misguidance. Just like youre choosing to follow your own desires over the truth. Thousands of muslim scholars have lived through the ages and have examined all these authentic hadith and have checked the chains of narration for each hadith. So youre telling me you know more than the experts of this field. You would not think you know more than a doctor if you were not yourself a doctor. So how dare you insult all those scholars of hadith who spent their life in persuit of authentuc islamic knowledge. Your arrogance is on another level.
I have explained to you why the authentic hadith are a reliable sourc. If you still wish to carry on following your desires then that is up to you.

When Prophet Muhammad S.A.W passed by this place while going for Ghazwa-e-Tabooq, he specifically showed the Sahaba this deserted place as a Ibrat. He told them to drink water from only one well which was once used by the camel of Hazrat Saleh. Prophet SAW prohibited them to eat or drink anything else from that area and pass through it rather quickly, because it's a sign of ibrat and you should not make it a place of enjoyment and amusement. But today, saudi government has organised 2 months of long program of entertainment and amusement in Maidan-e-Saleh. This place has been mystery for thousands of years and not many people has seen this before. Its a shame Dis-obeying being such a big nation and doing something totally opposite to the advise of prophet SAW.

There are verses in Quran where Allah swt tells us to travel on the land and see how he destroyed the disbelievers
when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) passed though al-Hijr - which was where the houses of Thamood were - he said: “Do not enter the dwellings of those who wronged themselves unless you are weeping, lest there befall you something like that which befell them.” Then he covered his head and urged his mount to move on quickly until he left the place behind.

It doesn’t contradict Quran. Allah left some of these places to be a sign for us so when we travel through them we remember the punishment of Allah, we shouldn’t go there as tourists and party there.
