sound was bad couldnt hear you right ,i remember going onto an 8 legger in 84 from the artic didnt like it at all the money went down by a third but the firm was going over to rigids so i left and got a job trunking from junc 29m1 to bathgate scotland and my first drive of the new foden with the 6spd eaton twinsplitter box, great ruck.
Good to see you back in an artic. I have just renewed my HGV class 1 (turned 48) and CPC. Ready to roll but, jobs are thin here in Scotland. When I was driving Class 1 last time around, £6.75/hour (mid 90s to mid 00s) Wouldn't get out of bed for that now! 🤣
My partner is 6 ft 4. It's like the old saying goes you never forget how to ride a bike. Same goes for what type or size of vehicle you drive. It's like when I used to drive buses and coaches. I preferred double deck as overall quieter than the screaming engines of a lot of the singles. Exept volvo and scania which had very quiet engines and automatic boxes. Not the case when I was learning to drive it was an old 1980 mcw metro bus double deck with a noisy Gardner and squealing automatic box plus a shaking steering wheel.
Great vlog luke scania is a really nice truck I'm aiming for my hgv class 2 for the tippers and class 1 for the bulk tippers its the only type of trucking that I want to do i know some bulk tippers do long distance driving and tramping that is what I'm aiming for. It's a nice half pipe trailer you've got on the turntable apart from making sure all axles are straight when topping and tipping can you give me some tips on tipper driving whilst tramping. It would much appreciated. Loved the drive on the narrow roads your a great truck driver. I'm 5 feet 5 " tall would I still be able to drive the lorries easily?. Hope your grand your a great guy stay safe
Know a friend who works for earthline mate and he drives the Class 1 trucks but if there's not anywork for the Class 1 they drive the 8 Wheelers and I've also been to that scania workshop to take pictures
You referred to a artic saying about pay .my nephew worked there and said there was one of the artic drivers who was really helpful and was really good at giving directions and a pretty good laugh .just wondering if he is still about
part of the reason i loved my old stocktaking job was it was always somewhere new day to day just the traveling killed it for me after a year or 2 no planning involved and defo money wasted specially with cases like flying out to the channel isles 3 times in 2 weeks
Great little video mate, How did it feel being back behind the wheel of an artic? 500bhp is some poke ;) Quarry to quarry in the artic don't sound too bad, if it is something you would consider, suggest when one of the drivers has a week off or something see if you can cover for the week or even a few days :) Very handy for them to have a driver who can drive both class 1 & 2. I agree lol that is one of the cleanest tippers I have ever seen!! P.S. I myself struggle also being 6ft5, so your not the only one ;)
Just watched the video mate . So have you become a artic driver for that company. You said the other artic drivers are not sort of permanent as they drive 8 wheelers so you could be a big wheeler full time
6'3 is a big boy, I have been watching you for years and had no idea you were that tall, I am 6ft so I would have been surprised to find you are taller than me if I met you in the street. I worked with a guy who was 6'5 he made me feel short, he was a long and lanky bloke, I think because he was skinny made him seem even taller.
Thank you Luke enjoyed the video as always. But sorry to say the sound a bit naff. Hope you don't mind me saying. Take care and stay safe and Safe Trucking. John Whitehouse
@@carlwood1432 He seems very jealous otherwise he would just do one and go forth and multiply. But he has to have his limelight and try and wind folk up just by post utter junk, it's a shame he's wasting his time unfortunately.
Nice little video any chance of you driving that artic tipper full time?I drive a rigid 8 wheel tipper and have my class1 so would love to drive an artic tipper
Right about the camera Luke. You don’t look 6.3 when your standing up but obviously I know your taller than what the camera shows you as. At 5.10 I’m glad as it means I have more room in my bed when tramping. I dread to think how the really tall drivers get on who over 6.5 etc must be a right squeeze🤣
Hi Luke hope you are having a good weekend. What is your opinion on the Scania artic. It looks like a nice truck. Thank you again for another Great Vlog Luke take care and Stay Safe.
Nice to see you back in an artic Luke, must of been strange tho! You must miss them tho, are you always looking for a class1 job to move to or just planning to stay with EarthLine?
Of course this vid gets a thumbs up as its a Luke C vid, but would like to give a vote for better audio for future vids. Im guessing its b/c of no mike and you sound distant and quite muffled.
Good show 🤘🍺🍺
