  • After being very pleased with my Wargames Atlantic foot knights, I have decided to give the conquistadors a look. From unboxing to painted.

As always thanks for the kind words and continued support. Yeah I have to say I like getting bang for buck and these box sets do that. Both with as is content and kitbashing opportunities. My bits box is looking very healthy.
Look forward to your next vid

I could’ve sworn you reviewed these already! Did I get shifted into another dimension or something?!

Welcome to the twilight zone! Ok you just gave away your not from our dimension, rookie mistake!
Nope wasn't me, I only finished painting these last week. We all seem alike on you tube.
Thanks for the comment and best wishes

Great idea using them for Ghost Archipelago. I’ve used my set plus a couple of extra sprues for my Italian wars figures. One thing I really liked about this set was the great variety of head sculpts. I think I’m going to use some of my spare heads to finish off a couple of Ghost Archipelago crew men I’ve got left to build. Cheers.

Thanks for the comment. Yeah there are lots of different sculpts for heads. I thought they would all have that iconic conquistador helmet alone, it was great how many different head coverings they had. I must admit I do like the floppy hats the most!

Good review, I see many kitbashing opportunities and might now pick up a sprue or two. The Conquistador cavalry and Renaiiance knight kit that Wargames Atlantic has just released look very interesting too and plenty of opportunities for kitbashing.

Thanks for the kind words. The conquistadors will undoubtedly be used in Mordheim as much as in historical. I will have my own attempts at kitbashing them go up in a couple of weeks. Half way through playing with them as we speak.
Will have to look at the cavalry, although I dont think I play any games with mounted troops. Will look into them, thanks for the suggestion.

Me neither, but see them being useful for Mordheim and ghost archipelago. Also alot of people seem to like silver bayonet, so some use there if you like that game. I must admit I used to hate the flouncy blouses and huge pantaloons, but with age they are growing on me!
