  • This recipe has been adapted from my favorite flour tortilla recipe that calls for using baking powder as opposed to a sourdough starter. You can use discard or a bubbling, active starter in this recipe.

    56 g (1/4 cup) softened butter

I tried this with a cold starter which had been in the fridge for a week, and it turned out great! Thanks for sharing!

I love Alexandra's videos! My favs are the ones where she chops something and speeds up the camera so the sounds are transformed, but the dough frying in this one is also mesmerizing!

Thanks for the recipe. Could we leave it to rest for a longer period of time. Like 8 to 10 hrs?

I tried this a few days ago and they were just what I was looking for. I have 2 questions when you have a moment. 1. If it rests longer will the fermentation process add a more sourdough flavor? and 2. I would like to try making this with dried garlic and possibly some herbs, if I did this would I have to adjust the proportion of any other ingredient(s)?

Didn't look like you let it ferment so they aren't really sourdough unfortunately. But I bet they are yummy!

Can I make the dough or balls ahead of time and cook the tortillas later before dinner? Or is it better to cook the tortillas and then reheat them? Thank you!
