One of the most detailed painting videos you have done, I really appreciate seeing all the steps along the way and all the work you did on the model. Batushka is a great choice for 40k and knights especially
Sprue goo is really helpful for when you really just need something to fucking stick in place, too. So many times I've had arms, hands, etc snap off at the connection point when I only use plastic glue, sprue goo is a really, really good part-sticker. Like mortar in a brick/stone wall. Especially if you then go back in with normal plastic glue and make it melt back in on itself at the seam. Very very useful for connections with lots of weight on them.
What an incredible piece of art. Honestly it's jaw-dropping. How many hours do you think Hephaestus took? Have you ever done a brightly colored army, even if you've scuzzed it up afterwards. Omg I had completely forgotten about Batushka too - like the only black metal band that I like, unless Rotting Christ are Black Metal, who I also like. Jesus such good Chaos Knights. GAWWWD.
thank you!! it's so hard to tell at this point, but i'd say at least 30-40+ assembly/cleaning and kitbashing, and 20-30+ painting. It took a long time to decide on and find bits I wanted too. I tend not to plan my kitbashes out super much since for me it's more fun to improvise along the way, but since I knew he was going to be an important centerpiece model I tried to be pretty discerning about what I added. I've painted bright armies, there's a couple videos where I try doing oldhammer color schemes on this channel (my other favorite style of painting), but I mostly paint in this dark blanchitsu adjacent way right now because A. it's much faster (Hephaestus is an exception, I try not to spend more than 1-3 hours on most non centerpiece models in my armies) and B. I just really love dark color palettes and feel like it matches the lore more. The way models look in the eavy metal scheme vs art has always felt a bit disparate and I love 40k the most when everyone is very dirty and standing in darkness.
This is the most beautiful painting i have ever seen in my life..thats what i call grimm realistic look !!incredible ..how many time did you spend on this beauty.i just bought mine today ..i am still glueing pieces together and waiting for my magnets to arrive.
Never watched your channel before but getting a chaos knight for Christmas hopefully thought I'd find a video. Stayed for the whole thing was a great vid! But what really sealed the deal was Batushka at the end! Looks like I've got to sub now! 😂
This was a good video Tyler, the intro actually made me cry a bit but I think that might be more indicative of other things currently going on in my life. Regardless, beautiful work and storytelling as always.
you need to use the dirty down as a wash. put a heap in a little pot then let it dry. then put water in it to reactivate it then use that as a wash. creates the nice bright rust new rust look.
Been following warhammer for years. Reading books, watching videos, watching friends play etc. deciding I want to make a CK army for my first army. Goddamn do I have my work cut out for me
Ok...... I know now that I need to take my knight painting really, REALLY seriously because I don't want to embarrass the other guy at the table if it's THIS GUY.
Normalize hating that particular company
Could someone please explain why? I must have missed a memo on that one 😅
@@CelewkWhich company is it?
@@lillybareham1257 Pretty sure its greenstuffworld, they make those flaming skulls they were referencing in the Video
@@Celewk pretty sure they stole painters work for their website without permission and didn't give credit
funny that he says not to support them, then "instead use some green stuff"
Looks sweet. The furnace glow from the top grate and the mouth is really cool
Always a good day when the Clown comes out to play

The Batushka montage at the end goes hard. Sick results!
Awww shiet, Batushka! Cheers from Poland for it, mate.
Where did you get the gold iconography transfer sheet? @7:52
it's from forgeworld, here's a link: www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-WW/Mechanicum-Taghmata-Transfer-Sheet
@@billiondollarclownfarm Thank you
Sickest intro, the auspex tactics link really helped make it feel real.
Hats off for the Batushka bit. Your vids are generally amazing, but that one made my day.
Really dig your style of painting. Look forward to seeing more of it in the future 👍

"Crappy company? I wonder if that's..."
*Types 'flaming skulls gr'-* "oh yes it's them. Well, at least he's not using AK Inter- FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU"
I will be returning to this video for inspiration when I get round to painting my knights. Your palette is my cup of tea.
Great video, really highlighted for me some things that I felt were missing on my chaos knight!

What paints did u use to apply that tones when priming?
so sick. The chipping technique is crazy such a hot tip.
looks sick and that dry humor kills me man. good shit

how does one purchase the war dogs when they are out of stock everywhere
Feel like Batushka is one of the most 40k bands out there
Just saw them a couple weeks ago, batuskha fucking rules
Somebody went to House of Hobbies for supplies.
I hope the famous band Bolt Thrower II makes a song about these knights eventually. Something with a lot of stomping sounds.
I hate clowns but you got a nice lil set up there bud. Nice work to ! Thanks for sharing !

What's up with That Particular Company? I'm out of the loop.
This is the best intro you've ever done.
The most important modeling purchase is paying your rent, because otherwise you won't have a place to put your models.
Looks like I have my next project to do ! , cheers Phil , great video as always
Dude you are an artist, how the f did I get this suggestion only now?!
Snazz work, also Yiiiiissss Shoutout Slow Death Games.
RIP Secret Weapon indeed. One of my favorite companies. Such a shame what happened to them.
What happened to them?
Above the waist is perfect, below it, not so much… As the Scary Movie said perfectly back in the days: “CINDY! CINDY! Your ass is fat”.
Love this intro
This video was great! Your commentary really made this video for me 😂
4K!? Most impressive! Big resolution for a big model!
The Knight looks very friendly and huggable.
