Great to see the 4-CEPs south of Polhill tunnel. I often watched trains from Twitton Bridge in the late 1960s (second bridge south of the tunnel). The up Golden Arrow would pass just after 7pm.
Trying to place where the Beckenham Jnc shot was taken from, ol' Enid Blyton and Status Quo were prob still there around that time but too early for Mr Bowie who was still likely doing small pub gigs around Bromley around then :) I'm thinking this is the hill that goes on down to Bellingham on the side behind the shot as at first I thought it was the high hilltop around back of Bromley town centre looking down on Shortlands.
The Beckenham Junction shots were taken from the top floor balcony of No.1 Albermarle Road. The building appears to have been rebuilt since those days. At the time it was occupied by the SE Divisional Manager and SE Divisional Civil Engineer's offices. The top floor overlooking the station was occupied by the Permanent Way Drawing Office.
Great to see the 'arrer with all the regalia. Interesting too the reverse liveried pullmans together with one in 'traditional' livery. Never realised the 'reverse' liveried ones ever went into traffic, I have seen a picture of a reverse liveried Belle Motor Car which scandalised everyone so the livery was changed to that actually used - ie a 'lined out' Blue and Grey.
The last, loco hauled train, is odd. The picture at Beckenham looks like it was taken from the Divisional Office perhaps because it had some odd carriages on it. It looks like the Golden Arrow headboard but was this some special service, or carrying special passengers?
Yes, the picture at Beckenham Junction was taken from the former DCE's office. No, it was not a special service. It was the regular Golden Arrow service, taken on a Sunday if I remember rightly.

Ahh 2:27 is fab. A 71 (or 72?) They pulled the Golden Arrow I think. Also lovely to see the Pullman coaches earlier on

Happily I was only there (mostly 3rd floor) Monday to Friday (with the occasional Saturday). Happy days!
I have just remembered that, for a short period, Pullman coaches were painted in the reverse BR colours white/blue, not blue/white!
