Ok first off I love your videos, you are one of the best reaction creators... 1 change would make you perfect. As someone who is a musician and as someone who also loves music reaction videos. .. When you pause the video to make a comment, back it up 5 or so seconds when you resume. As a watcher of music reactions, most people that know what's coming are waiting in anticipation to see your reaction obviously.. and most of those moments fall on the 1 of the beat. And when people who are musicians that do reaction videos pause to make a comment, they usually pause on the 1... this makes you miss some of the best moments in a song because you paused right on it and you killed that moment and you completely miss it on the resume. There are only a few who backup a bit on resume and this makes sure they don't miss anything. Jinjer has some of the best 1's in metal.. don't miss any of them.
I love your suggestion! I will DEMAND my producer implement this in our next session. Truthfully, he's an idiot and should have thought of this on his own.

I was on the outskirts of the mosh at the Jinjer show I went to last year. Almost fell over a few times but everyone was looking out for each other. I had a blast!
I could listen to Jinjer all day. Sometimes I do... Really glad you're enjoying them too.
Jinjer singlehandedly got me back into metal after about five years of tripping on the hippie Festival scene. Since then, I've begun to blow up the most extreme metal I can get my hands on. Yeah, they are not the hardest out there but they are almost impossible to beat in terms of just how well constructed their music is.

I found Jinjer about three years ago when I first started looking around on RUclips for female vocalists in Metal. Wow! I was amazed at how much is out there! I'm still exploring!
Jinjer is great stuff. For me there's so many female screamers I like. I also like a lot of the retro metal type bands like Lucifer and Burning Witches and Savage Master...Savage Master is a little like Bitch from years ago.
There's so many I love! I was tired of the mainstream kind of Metal and had kind of gotten away from paying attention to it.

I've been to country concerts, metal fests and hippie fests. The couple things they all have in common are psychedelics and chicks that are clothing optional. The very best of times.

As for the question about moshing: I really enjoy it, but not full "beat the shit out of each other". More just shouldering/shoving as just a way to get into the energy of the song.
MOST metal mosh pits are actually very respectful and it's all balanced to the music.

About playing bass guitar "this high" is about his style, he uses slap, pop, hammer, tapping, you name it... all the elements of playing bass guitar - so therefore his hand has to be close to reach the all strings for any purpose. So called "chicken wing stance", it will get tough on your elbow in long term, but I'm pretty sure they know how fix it with precise physical exercise :D

Haha, I'm no leader. Just happy I can share the fruits of my obsession. Note that a gig every second day was basically their average for the year, but on their north American tour last year, they were usually doing multiple shows in a row, with usually just a day off before going right back in. 42 shows in 60 days. 152 shows total for the year. They are getting a vacation now though.

It was fun to mosh when I was a bit younger. The vast majority of people were respectful and not looking to hurt anyone. For something really technical, you should react to Awakening by Unleash the Archers. It will blow you away.

I love how in this video you're still really apprehensive about pits and moshing, and in the Perennial Live at Wacken video you can't wait to get into it. It's the Jinjer effect, the energy and skill they put out is just baffling and just completely takes you away. They are one of the best in the business at the moment, I truly adore them. Lovely reaction!
What i love about rock and metal is how free it is. There are no rules, almost no prejudice, compared to other genres, and there is very little resistance to new ideas. It is so freeing, because you have no creative limits. That's probably why there's a million different subgenres.

I discovered Jinjer by watching vocal coaches reaction videos. I think Elizabeth Zharoff's channel (Charismatic Voice) was the first for me. I'm not much of a metal fan, I don't dislike it, but I tend to like more blues, New Orleans Jazz, classic country...stuff like that. Jinjer has blown me away. Their complex time signatures...the syncopations on top of syncopations...the use of dissonance. It's all so alluring. And Tati writes some of the most beautiful poetry. I'm absolutely obsessed with this band.
Never get tired of sharing a new Jinjer experience. I pose a question for a musician. How could two female fronted metal bands from Ukraine be so different? The band IGNEA answers that question. They have keyboards. They sometimes work with an orchestra. They use eastern scales heavily. Please check out IGNEA "Disenchantment" for what I consider to be the song and video of the year. If you like it, "Alga" has an extended intro with live orchestra.

It is absolutely so much fun to beat the shit out of each other in the mosh pit at metal shows!
Plus all of the crowds I've run into won't tolerate when dickheads start throwing elbows at people, and they'll pick you up off the floor immediately if you fall down in the pit.
No permanent injuries, just good aggressive fun!!
So this technical level is meanwhile almost common in the Progressive Scene which I find one of the most professional scenes at all in Rock / Metal.
You can hear many influences of Opeth, Meshuggah, Lamb of God and so on ... and all of them are masters on music. Jinjer does well adopting to them and create their own style, which is not only Tatianas work alone. But Tatiana is one of a kind ... I honestly don't like and listen to females in Metal and Rock ... but she convinced me completely. As soon as Corona is gone and they play in Germany for themseleves, not as part of a festival, I will be there.
Check out some Spiritbox too. As you enjoy Jinjer, I think it would be right up your alley
Dude, you get it; that's so cool. Notice how the bassist was imitating a school bell ringing at the end? Captain Clock was written around the timing of a grandfather clock, and the intro is like winding it up. This band writes music like nothing else. They're my first musical obsession in many years. So, I checked out the description and your About page - you wouldn't happen to give music lessons?

I came across this video by following the link from Jinjers instagram story. It appears they like your reaction videos as well. You are right, they are an awesome band.
Great reaction as always and I love how you can pick up the subtle nuances that make this band so amazing! You really can't go wrong with any other song choice to react to next. One of the great things about them is most of their songs are completely different, yet they are all beautifully and uniquely written. Can't wait for you to discover more!

Re: going to concerts and moshing or "beating the shit out of each other". It's a blast and very cathartic especially with a great band like this one. If you get the chance you have got to go and see Jinjer or another metal band. You don't need to be in the mosh, there are almost zones in the pit defined by etiquette. You can find a place to the side or further back where the dancing is a little less violent and you still have a great view.
And if anyone trips in a PIT, people almost always HELPS You get up, that's metal brothers for You :)

I am an old man now, so the pit hurts more than it used to. I usually avoid it as it is a young man's game...but for the right band, I am all in it. Love it! 10-15 years ago, I lived in the Ozzfest pits every year. The only time I have seen Jinjer there was not much of a pit at all. People were genuinely so surprised how great they were live that many stood slack jawed in awe.
In the 90s we used wood bass drum mallets on large metal washers in the studio duct taped to the heads to get that pronounced double bass hits. 😁👍 tech has come along way since.

There are a couple of different styles in a mosh pit. There are those of us who stand back and listen, others how jump in synchronisation with the crowd in time to the beat. Then there's the circle. It used to be just a group that would smash dance into everyone. Now it's organised into a 'circle' so that those who want to smash dance can, while there is a safe boundary. Always felt safe in a metal crowd. Most people look out for each other. :)

A couple of common techniques/set ups used for metal kick drums are hard(er) beaters, sometimes even hard strikers on the heads, Mics with tight, shorter signal profiles like the Audix D-6 (I have one mounted internally on a Kelly SHU mount in my big rock kit). In mine, I didn't want that really clicky type response. I use rubber beaters an a Iron Cobra Twin, and an Audix D-6 Nickle. It is a big 24" x 18" kick, it has a lot of BOOM! I can kick it and lift and still get big sustained bass. It ended up having a great kind of self-EQ effect that is super easy for live sound engineers to work with. They love it... If they haven't ran sound for me before I usually tell them "A great baseline setting to start with is up on the bass cut everything else, and start with __ (approximated figure from experience) Reverb, then adjust that to fit the venue. About 80% of the time it comes out pretty close to spot on... IF... they listen and take my advice. ...and I am reminded of how long it has been since I have been able to play a larger venue, other than outdoors... Keep up the good work!

It has a decent amount of Tatiana singing in her native tongue, and beautiful lyrical sections followed by hard hitting breakdowns and growls... the perfect contrast and tatiana's beautiful voice and her incredible growls make it my favorite Jinjer song. Okay I wouldn't call myself an aggressive person but, when you're at a concert with music like this, you absorb the energy from the music and feel invincible. Shoving ppl as well as being shoved is a way to channel use up some of that energy and it feels amazing! That's how i feel anyway.

great reaction. This is one of my favourite bands and Tatiana is one of the two women that I would consider my "vocal goddesses".
To meet the other one I'd like to recommend another great metal band with a different style. I checked the videos that you have done so far and couldn't find any Nightwish. They are from Finland and were founded 1996. They play symphonic metal. Tuomas Holopainen (the keyboardist) writes almost (95%) all of their songs (music and lyrics) and some even call him the Metal Mozart because of his compositions (he is not just writing the metal parts but also the symphonic parts that are then recorded by the London Philharmonic Orchestra and played as backtrack on the shows, it would be way to expensive to have a whole orchestra at every show when you're on tour). Like Tatiana, their vocalist, Floor Jansen from the Netherlands has an exceptional voice. She did some classical training, studied music at the Dutch Rock Academy in 1999, entering the Conservatorium Tilburg and studied musical theatre too. She has been a vocal coach for some years. You should really check them out. Usually "Ghost Love Score" live from Wacken 2013 is the entrance to this rabbit hole, because it shows a bit what Floor can do with her voice (she said she loves to perform this song). But you can start with any of their performances from Wacken 2013, this show was just legendary. The bass player (Marko Hietala, great vocalist too) accompanies Floor in some songs, like in "Ghost River" or "Romanticide" and they even have a third vocalist (Troy Donockley from the UK, he is a multi-instrumentalist and plays uilleann-pipes, tin whistle, bouzouki and some more) who usually just provides some harmonies, but got a little more attention on their recent album "Human:||:Nature", where he takes the lead in one song. The guitarist Emppu Vuorinen is an excellent musician too, he writes his solos himself and they are always great and fit the song, no showing off, just what the song needs. And current drummer Kai Hahto is just fantastic (he stepped in for Jukka Nevalainen who is a great drummer too, but had to stop playing because of health issues). Ok, I could go on throwing information at you, but once you have done your first Nightwish reaction, the Nightwish army will come and provide more.

Awesome breakdown of the track! Tati has said the song is actually about celebrities and their fanbases, but that she also really likes the band's lyrics being interpreted in other ways, like seeing this track as being about religion or the education system

As a lot of other people have said already, moshing is generally not "beating the shit out of each other", but rather expending energy and having fun. A large majority of injuries that happen to people who are in the pit is due to jerks who don't follow the "rules" of a pit. And, believe it or not, there are unspoken and well-understood rules of mosh pits!

LMAO...Maybe I'm just an old man, and have been since I saw in my teens, but I don't enjoy a mosh pit either. But my friends that do explain it as a friendly aggressive dance. There's an etiquette to it. IDK...I like a chair, and an occasional standing ovation.

Mosh pits look very violent, but 99% people aren't there to hurt each other, and I've seen on multiple occasions people forming a ring around somebody who has fallen to stop others from trampling them. You will occasionally run into an asshole that goes elbows first though.
