Colin thank you, an epic coverage. Not only the Grand National but Aintree used to stage the British Motor Racing Grand Prix.
The course "proper" is the Mildmay Course. ;-)
Sad they lost the flat fixtures. :-(
2,000 Guineas coming up and so is the Chester Cup meeting. Rich in history as is Chester. It's the oldest racecourse in the country on it's original site from around the 1540's(?). The Roodee is a remarkable course.

Thanks, I never knew that about Chester racecourse, I will give it a look when I do Chester FC at some point in the near future.
I done Aintree on the spur of the moment after a road was closed and I was diverted past it.
It was still quite surprising that you actually drive along Melling Road and cut across the racecourse, even though I have seen it on TV countless times.

@@cp-overview Thanks. I remember going to Chester City Football Club's Sealand Road. Never been to the Deva Stadium.
Yes Chester racecourse has a huge history. I think one of the officials at Chester racecourse had the initials "G. G." where you get the synonym "" GeeGees" from. Back in Tudor days they used to try and win silver bells in the races. Very characteristic racecourse, almost circular. Local stables usually do well. Main stand devoured in a huge fire (1985?) been re-built. Thanks for the coverage Colin. 👍
